본 연구는 IPTV 이용자의 미디어 이용특성(TV 시청시간, 스타 선호도, 장르 선호도)에 따른 VOD 이용행태(VOD이용 및 이용금액)의 차이를 살펴보고, 미디어 이용특성과 IPTV 사업자가 운영하는 가이드채널에 대한 평가가 VOD 이용의사에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 VOD 이용경험과 가이드 채널 시청 경험이 있는 자를 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 선호하는 스타가 출연하는 경우 VOD 이용이 가장 많았으며, 지불의사 측면에서는 스타 선호도보다는 장르선호도가 VOD에 대한 지불의사에 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 미디어 이용특성 중 장르 선호도와 가이드 채널에 대한 시청의사와 인지된 오락성이 VOD 이용의사에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구결과를 통해 VOD 이용을 높이기 위해서는 VOD 이용 현황 분석을 통해 맞춤형 프로모션과 다양한 이벤트를 제공함으로써 가이드 채널 시청률을 보다 더 적극적으로 높일 필요가 있다.

In this study, the relationships of factors influencing the ways alternative types of new digital products are accepted into the market will be structuralized. On the basis of previous research, it is assumed that customers intend to use alternative types of new digital products when they have a higher value than existing products. The consumer's feeling of attraction toward the product is another factor included in the evaluation of its quality. And the attraction of the products that the consumers feel is also included in the evaluation of the qualities of the product. The results of the study indicate first that a product's value affects its attraction, but not the usage intention of the customer. Second, the benefits of the product affect the customer's recognition of its value, while cost does not. Third, environment affects recognition by the customer of the product's attraction, while knowledge of the product does not. By structuralizing the factors that influence the customer's usage intention about alternative types of new digital devices, the causal relationships of the factors involved in the acceptance of new products into the market and their success can be comprehended.

Most of the IS continuance research has assumed that IS use is activated by an intention to use, which in turn is determined by the evaluation of IS usage. Perceived usefulness is one of the evaluation variables most widely used. Typically, the past studies adopt this perceived usefulness because it views continuance as an extension of acceptance behavior. However, the literature on interpersonal relationships suggests that individuals are motivated to maintain relationships either because they genuinely want to or they believe they have no other option. The former is referred to as dedication-based relationship maintenance and the latter as constraint-based relationship maintenance. The IS continuance can be considered as the relationship maintenance situation with the existing IS that the user is currently using. The belief constructs previously used in IS continuance researches fall into the category of dedication-based ones. Additional constraint-based belief constructs are needed to explain the IS continuance behavior. In this regard, switching cost represents an important avenue for better understanding and predicting customer retention in that it can be regarded as the constraint-based motivation for relationship maintenance or IS use continuance. For an empirical exploration, 275 samples were collected from the users of a web portal site. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) shows that perceived usefulness shows a significant direct effect on continuance intention while perceived switching cost significantly affects continuance usage.

This paper searches Internet auction sites to study consumer willingness to reuse and consumer satisfaction, along with its frequency of usage and evaluation. This study also examines the differency in the frequency of usage, the number of products purchased, consumer satisfaction and willingness to reuse, and evaluation of the auction sites according to the characteristics of consumers' socio-economic factors and the auction site itself. Determinant variables is investigated in the level of consumer satisfaction. The results of this study are as below: First, consumers used auction sites frequently, especially when they were in their 20s, intended to purchase clothes, and thought the delivery time would be short. In addition, consumers were more likely to purchase products, with low income buy first pay later, and short deliberation. Second, consumers, unemployed and in their 50s, sell-purchase among consumers were less likely to have a willingness to reuse the auction site. However, consumers with an experience to buy clothes or products with a price between 50,000 and 100,000 won were more likely to have a willingness to reuse the site. Third, consumer satisfaction with auction sites were higher among those who were females; responsible as a consumer; full of experiences; and received the product within a short period of time. Lastly, the willingness to reuse auction sites was positively related to the following type of consumers: single, employed, and responsible as a consumer.

The purpose of this study is to optimally allocate the human resources to tasks while minimizing the total daily human resource costs and smoothing the human resource usage. The human resource allocation problem (hRAP) under consideration contains two kinds of special constraints, i.e. operational precedence and skill constraints in addition to the ordinary constraints. To deal with the multiple objectives and the special constraints, first we designed this hRAP as a network problem and then proposed a Pareto multistage decisionbased genetic algorithm (P-mdGA). During the evolutionary process of P-mdGA, a Pareto evaluation procedure called generalized Pareto-based scale-independent fitness function approach is used to evaluate the solutions. Additionally, in order to improve the performance of P-mdGA, we use fuzzy logic controller for fine-tuning of genetic parameters. Finally, in order to demonstrate the applicability and to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach, P-mdGA is applied to solve a case study in a hotel, where the managers usually need helpful automatic support for effectively allocating hotel staff to hotel tasks.

Application of appropriate research methods has assumed an important role in knowledge accumulation endeavors in the scientific research community. The current study reported here summarizes how we used the empirical methods in IS research, what we need to improve in using empirical study as research methodology through the set of comprehensive research guideline. From the survey and review of seminal and classical research guidelines, we developed our own 28 checklist for research design, statistical analysis, and conclusion, which can be commonly applied to all articles that employ inferential statistical methods in IS research. Then, we critically evaluated the usage of empirical research methods in major IS journals by using the checklist, with the goal of improving the quality of academic papers. In this study, we scrutinized four major IS journals which published empirical papers from 1991 to 2000: MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, Information Systems Research, and Decision Sciences. As a result of intensive evaluation work, we could highlight many areas that are lagging and call for greater attention with regard to the proper usage of empirical study in IS research. The research findings in this study can be referred as checklist and guideline when IS researcher applies the empirical method.

The electric power consumed by the embedded devices has become a critical issue because the reduction of power consumption is an important factor to prolong the battery-operated devices' lifetime. Many researches and techniques to reduce the power consumption have been proposed and developed but any power method cannot guarantee optimal power consumption of an embedded device - it would be faced with numerous situation - in all ways. Specifically, power researches for embedded devices deployed in the industry field have hardly been done. In this paper, low power service is proposed to minimize power reduction with the several usage status of embedded devices in the industry field. The usage status is basically classified according to the distance between the device and the user which is obtained by the ultrasonic and PIR sensor. The performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme can reduce the power consumption by up to 45.3% compared to the device with no power reduction scheme. It also shows that the power consumption of the proposed scheme is 5.2% ~ 16.8% lower than that of the timeout scheme.

To assist the further development of hight-visibility clothing this study compared the visibility and subjective wear sensation of commercial protective vests with retro-reflecting materials or LEDs. Nine subjects compared high-visibility vests to evaluate how easy they were to see when exposed to the headlight of a car at night, and the subjects assessed the wear sensation of the vests also. The intensity and visibility of five different colored LEDs assembled on the five substrates separately were also evaluated to select the suitable LED color for night protective clothing. The intensity of illumination was measured by an illuminometer, and the visibility was evaluated by 11 participants both in a dark room and in front of a car outdoors at night. Results showed, the most effective LEDs were high intensity LEDs which shift blinking red and white were most effective. However, excessively high intensity of illumination could decrease the working efficiency. In subjective wear evaluation, the most favorable vest had a front opening, were adjustable at the sides, and had an electric power switch on the front of the vest.

본 연구의 목적은 노인환자들을 대상으로 기본 정보, 휠체어 사용 시 문제점, 휠체어 사용 만족도와 관련된 사용실태 및 요구사항을 조사하여 노인 환자의 휠체어 사용 시 문제점과 어려움을 파악하고, 결과를 토대로 노인 환자의 올바른 휠체어 사용을 위한 대안을 제시하고자 함이었다. 설문지를 통해 조사를 실시하였으며, 설문지는 구현모 등(2005)이 개발한 장애인 휠체어 사용에 대한 설문지와 Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with assistive Technology 2.0을 수정, 보완하여 구성하였다. 150부의 설문지 중 120부를 회수하였으며, 이 중 1부를 제외한 119부에 대한 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 신체적 손상에서 관절통증을 호소하는 경우가 가장 많았고 휠체어 사용 시 불편함을 느끼는 부위는 허리, 골반 부위가 경우가 많았으며, 휠체어 사용 시 불편함을 느끼는 상황은 경사 이동 시 불편함을 느끼는 경우가 가장 많았다. 대상자의 휠체어 사용 만족도는 다양한 면에서 사용자들이 '보통'으로 응답했다. 휠체어 조작 능력에서는 수동휠체어의 경우 공통적으로 휠리, 층 오르고 내리기, 턱 통과하기에서 어려움을 느끼고 있었으며, 전통휠체어의 경우 틸트와 디클라인 사용, 모터 분리와 조립, 배터리와 충전기 사용에 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 노인환자의 관절 통증을 줄이고 허리와 골반 부위의 불편함을 줄일 수 있고 경사 이동 시 수월한 휠체어의 디자인 및 외형을 갖출 필요가 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 추후 휠체어 사용 시 노인 환자들이 느끼는 불편함을 줄이고 만족도를 높일 수 있도록 정기적인 실태조사가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

일선학교에서 평가는 주로 객관식 평가를 하여왔다. 주관식 평가는 객관식보다 높은 수준의 인지 능력을 측정할 수 있으나 채점의 객관성과 신뢰성의 문제로 기피하여 왔다. 본 논문은 주관식 평가를 위해 주관식 문제 채점 모형을 제안하고 유의어 사전을 이용한 채점 시스템을 설계, 구현하였다. 제안된 시스템은 주관식 문제의 다양한 유형을 처리할 수 있도록 하고 시스템의 사용법을 알지 못하는 교사라도 쉽게 이를 이용할 수 있는 편리성을 제공하였다. 이 시스템을 통해 채점의 시간과 노력을 덜고 채점의 객관성을 획득할 수 있다. 시스템의 실험 결과 시스템 채점이 교사 채점의 최고와 최저 사이에 오는 경우가 73%에 달하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 앞으로 본 연구가 주관식 문제 채점 방법 연구의 기반이 될 것으로 기대된다.
