  • Along with emergence of recent issues such as 'minimization of energy consumption' and 'natural environment and human health' amid the flow of requirements for nature-friendly architecture, attempts for boundary, which has a variety of possibilities as the intermediate territory between interior and exterior space of the architecture, have been pursued actively. On the ground of close relationships between urban area and architecture in a modern society, the boundary between interior and exterior is being exhibited in a wide variety of way of expressions, not as a single plane any longer. In line with this, researcher analyzed interior and exterior boundary according to its type targeting modern housing complex in Europe, and also investigated characteristics thereof. And, having provided the results as basic materials in order to seek amenity of local apartment houses and diversification of housing plan as well, the researcher intends to be of a help to bring physical changes in both building and exterior design, and also to give a new meaning in an environment-friendly aspect.

  • Throughout the world in major urban centers, the volume of vehicular traffic on roads continues to increase. ITS provides drivers with traffic information and new routing options on route In order to make them move quickly to their destinations. The higher mobility, the more productivity we gain. The ultimate goal of Intelligent Transport System is to improve mobility. ITS world is broad and quite varied, as demonstrated by ITS user services, their distinct needs, and complex Interactions and synergies. ITS ties the transportation and telecommunication worlds together. The complex world of telecommunications is evolving and expanding rapidly. Especially over the last two decades, the birth and unprecedented growth of wireless is really marvelous and further holds tremendous promise into the future. This wireless and emerging technologies will offer extensive opportunities to handle many ITS user services, and alter many of the traditional paradigms of transportation.

  • To solve the policy problem between transportation and environment in trade-offs, above all, it is necessary to understand the complicated relationship between transportation and environment clearly before selecting policy alternatives. From this point of view, this study will propose the logic structure to examine the complex interaction of transportation and environment and investigate theoretically what kinds of impact would appear by the air related polices. In this research, we used ’system-dynamics’ which investigates the complexity through the flow of information and materials and the interaction of elements, which constitutes systems. System Dynamics is an approach that the variables to decide structural relationship in a system affect one another not in only-way but in inter-way and the power of influence changes time by time. This research is trying to examine the complex interaction of transportation and air pollution. For achieving this purpose, causal maps in System Dynamics approach were used. The main issues are as follows; first, to investigate the dynamic relationship between transportation and air pollution caused by exhaust emission gas. Second, to structuralize the logic of simulation to experiment the impacts of policies to relieve air pollution.

Holomorph and Phylogeny of Erysiphe chloranthi on Chloranthus japonicus in Korea

  • Erysiphe chloranthi is the only powdery mildew species (Erysiphaceae) found on Chloranthus plants belonging to the family Chloranthaceae. This species has long been known to be present in Japan and Korea and is hence regarded as endemic to East Asia. Examination of seven Korean specimens revealed detailed morphological characteristics of the holomorph of this species. Short foot-cells of conidiophores are proposed as key characteristics that differ from related species. Sequences of the internal transcribed spacer regions and large subunit gene retrieved from four Korean samples confirm the phylogenetic position of this species within the Erysiphe aquilegiae complex. These data may help elucidate the identity of this species and clarify the ambiguity of the E. aquilegiae complex.

  • The Gaussian models were selected as the reference models for the study. During the study of the model verification in the Ulsan Industrial Complex, the accuracy and limitation of models were assessed. The correlation coefficients of the observed and the predicted values for CDM 2.0 and TCM2B were ranged from 0.57 to 0.73 and from 0.72 to 0.86, respectively. And there were relatively large discrepancies between the predicted and predicted and the measured concentrations for several locations. Therefore, the Gaussian models should be used with careful discretion to apply the urban area in Korea.

Complexing Capacity - A Measure of Evaluating Water Quality

  • Methods for the measurement of copper(II) complexing capacity (CuCC) of natural waters by using the back-extraction of bis(benzoyl-trifluoroacetonate)copper(II) and the extraction rate of dithizonato-copper(II) complex were described. Experimental results show that the CuCC of the Kiryu river water samples from urban area were consistently larger than those from up-stream, due to a ligand which originated from human activities.

  • In this paper the average sector throughput of lx EV-DO system is analyzed. The analysis is based on a mathematical approach rather than a field test or a computer simulation. By this analysis, the average sector throughput can be easily estimated under various conditions without complex simulations. In the typical urban environment, the estimated average throughput is 683 Kbps.

  • Economic growth and complex urbanization due to modern rapid industrialization prompt us necessarily to require rests and civic entertainments. Various leisure activities appear to be the type of theme park which has compound natures, and now these are being developed to leisure cultures with new conception. Here, this study presents a desirable direction of new entertainment through virtual reality in the theme park type of the 21st century's alternative entertaining space that citizens are easily accessible, maximizes experiences and meets the entertainment instinct.

  • Program management is a concept to deal with huge and complex business activities from social, economical, cultural and environmental points of view and increase their value for client and society. The aim of this study is to establish a framework of program management process and develop a supporting system for program management. In this paper we propose a framework and a proto type supporting system based on case studies and report the result of application to an urban redevelopment using partially implemented software.
