PC component allocation and loading plan can contribute to reductions in carbon dioxide emission and energy use of vehicles and total project costs with increased utilization of vehicle loading space. The study derived 18 considerations that PC construction plant managers and site managers take into account when they plan allocation and loading of PC components. Then, IPA (Importance and Performance Analysis) was performed to assess importance and performance of the 18 considerations. Results show that in the PC component allocation planning, considerations regarding the number of vehicles and existence of yard for storing PC components have not been taken into account well by the managers. In the PC component loading planning, PC component loading direction has not been reflected well by the managers although it is considered important by them. Recently, ill-planning issues of PC component transportation, such as inefficient use of vehicle space and loading with low stability, are frequent due to various types of PC components produced. In this context, if the results of this study are reflected in the development of component allocation and loading planning, vehicle management of PC projects would be more efficient, thereby leading to economic project management.

Prior hardware-centered rural development projects implemented top-down rural community regeneration via the local government in accordance with central government agency policies. To improve this, software-centered projects have been promoted since 2000. With central agency-led rural development projects changing into local government-led ones, rural community regeneration has been built per village. Although rural community regeneration projects appear to have implemented a bottom-up development currently, the top-down development procedures being facilitated by the intervention of administrative institutions have not disappeared. In this regard, the purpose of this research thesis is to effectively perform bottom-up development methods that go one step further from the current process of rural community regeneration. As the research site, this thesis selected Geochang, which has difficulties in being steadily maintained and operated despite the development of various rural community regeneration projects. Subsequently, it determined the current status and substantial analysis of a project of the rural community regeneration in Geochang through 1:1 interviews with civil servants in charge of administration as well as conducted a prior study on rural resident awareness of rural community regeneration through a survey of village head members and in-depth interviews with rural residents. Based on these data, a 10 times-round table conference was held under the participation of pertinent civil servants, professionals and rural residents to select practical strategies for cooperative rural community regeneration in Geochang as five key areas: local food, culture & welfare, rural villages, community development, and urban and rural interchanges. In addition, it is considered that the project of building villages must be implemented by establishing steadfast administrative co-operation systems, strengthening rural residents' participation capacities and supporting professionals' systemic integrated operation and maintenance. By doing so, this research thesis sought to determine practical strategies in the cooperative rural community regeneration in Geochang. It is expected that bottom-up development rural community regeneration will be built and introduced in each rural community in the future.

Systematic risk management is necessary in grand scaled urban construction because of the existence of complicated and various risk factors. Problems of obstructions, adjacent structures, safety, environment, traffic and geotechnical properties need to be solved because urban construction is progressed in limited space not as general earthwork. Therefore the establishment of special risk management system is necessary to manage not only geotechnical properties but also social and cultural uncertainties. This research presents the technique analysis by the current state of risk management technique. Risk factors were noticed and the importance of each factor was estimated through survey. The systemically categorized database was established. Risk extraction module, matrix and score module were developed based on the database. Expected construction budget and time distribution can be computed by Monte Carlo analysis of probabilities and influences. Construction budgets and time distributions of before and after response can be compared and analyzed 80 the risks are manageable for entire whole construction time. This system will be the foundation of standardization and integration. Procurement, efficiency improvement, effective time and resource management are available through integrated management technique development and application. Conclusively decrease in cost and time is expected by systemization of project management.

In this paper, a new system requirement management tool and its application on the Urban Transit Maglev Project were introduced. In most R&D projects on complexity system such as transportation system, Systems Engineering(SE) activities are included on each project, and SE teams are using commercial computer-based tools to perform the SE activities. Even though SE tools help to manage huge data and documents on engineering efficiently, but well-designed functions of SE tools which support SE activities are not sufficiently used on the whole process of system engineering. In order to computer-based SE tools are to be effectively used on project management, most engineers who takes engineering and coordination roles, at least sub-project managers should be familiar to the tool and could be easily use it, but usability of commercial SE tools are very difficult for normal engineers with no experience on SE activities and SE tools. To overcome this difficulty, we developed a new system requirement management tool considering each user's scenario on using engineering tools. The developed tool could not cover whole SE processes, but designed to perform requirement engineering such as system requirements(SRs) management, specification management, traceability management, SRs' verification activity management and so on. All the entities on SR database are inter-connected by pre-recognized traceabilities, so even non-specialists on SE can easily browse the database and find entities concern, and linked information such as interacted entities, legal or engineering constraints, coordination documents, status of development and verification and so on. Also functions for SR verification tools, TPM(Technical Performance Measure) tools, DB searching tools with traceability, and report generation tools are included on the system.

In recent decades, the dry stream phenomena of small and medium sized rivers have been attracting much attention as an important social problem. To prevent dry stream phenomena, it is necessary to build an infrastructure that manages rivers. To accurately determine the progress of dry stream phenomena, it is necessary to continuously measure the discharge and other hydrological factors for small and medium sized rivers. However, until now, the flow data for small and medium rivers in Korea has been insufficient. To overcome the lack of supporting data for supporting rational decision-making in policy and project implementation, a short- and long-term hydrological model was developed that takes into consideration hydrological changes such as the increase of the impervious area due to urban development and groundwater pumping, the construction of a large-scale sewage treatment plant, the maintenance of stream-oriented rivers, etc. In the developed model, the distributed grid is represented by three layers: Surface flow, interflow, and groundwater flow. The surface flow and intermediate flow flowed along the flow direction, and the groundwater flow was calculated by a two-dimensional groundwater analysis model such that the outflow occurred in all directions without a specific flow direction. The effects of land use and cover on evapotranspiration and infiltration and the effects of multiple landscapes can be simulated in the developed model.

Green landscape plan to the riverfront area of the Han River The Han River, one of the symbolic elements in metropolitan Seoul, structures an axis of waterscape as the openspace crossing east to west of the city of Seoul. As riverside urban motorway(88 Olympic motorway) and riverside public park were constructed by the Han River Comprehensive Development Project in 1986, the necessity of general plan for the in-stallation of envirommental facility belt to conserve living enviroument is being required with relation to, dense residential areas closed to the river Therefore, the goal of the study is to provide better riverview and to increase environmental purifi-cation ability as a large scale waterscape axis by the preparation of landscape plan to the riverfront area of Han River, In order to achieve the goal, the study deals with sectional speciality, the introduction of landscape assessment techniques and ecological approach to given environment. As unity is kept through whole waterfront area, the area is divided into 9 zoning sections to study development methods for each section, and themes for speciality are given to each section, and the. sort of plants which can be symboliged to the area is selected. Also, the planting methods for harmony with the type of road structure and riverscape is offered. Though the study may give significane to the image and the function of riverside road, in con-clusion, the characteristic ecological approach to the river is so limited that has not been reflected enough on the plan. It is expected that the study should be continued, and long-term riverfront openspace plan, environmentally sustainable, should be arepared.

Korean city had been rapid developed through high industrialization and rapid economic growth after the 1970's. The city development process was guaranteed the fulfillment of city function through the city expansion based on New Towns and satellite cities rather than the reformation of existing city. This city expansion caused by degrading of city, being backward and producing many problems. To solve this problems, it was considered the rehabilitation of retarded function with rejuvenation such as a special law accelerating urban renaissance and reorganization project. Also a fire protection performance did not satisfied the required conditions of modern FPP system, such as the function deterioration of building facilities, the technological development with FPP facilities, changed fire laws and building occupancy for social needs. Insufficiency of requirements depreciated the building value and intimidated a safety of residents. To solve this problem, the improvement of FPP was essentially required and also strongly recommended an analysis and a comparative study between the required FPP of existing building and it improving effective FPP. Therefore, purpose of this study is that establish the basic data to construct a system to analyze and compare the building FPP.

Koolhaas' perspective on urbanism differs from the modern urbanism and typological urbanism. The Melun-Senart masterplan, La $D{\acute{e}}fense$ masterplan shows unique characteristic different from that of conventional urbanism. The roots of this creative approach can be found in the traits of his research with O.M. Ungers back in the 1970s. Koolhaas and Ungers have collaborated intimately from 1972 to 1977 to work on urban projects. This collaboration reaches its cilmax in their project City in the City, where many of Koolhaas' core concepts such as archipelago, void/solid, plurality, infrastructure, congestion, and social condenser are introduced. This thesis will explore the development of these concepts in their collaboration and shed new light on how this period has made a transition into Koolhaas' perspective on urbanism and architecture as well as his works. The purpose of this study is to investigate these core concepts of Koolhaas in City in the City, and to find the development and the meaning of these concepts in his projects.

Currently, the way of providing housing in Korea has been regarded as public rental housing through large-scale development by the government. However, there is an increasing need for qualitative growth not only in quantitative growth but also in policies, systems, and sustainable design. The purpose of this study is to explore the applicable methods for domestic social housing through the policy and design guideline study of UK social housing which has achieved qualitative growth through diversification of development subject. First, the concept of social housing in the UK and sustainable housing design elements will be examined. Second, the characteristics and policy direction, project background, management and sustainability of five social housing projects over the last 10 years in the UK will be analyzed. In conclusion, in order to achieve the sustainable design of social housing, the construction of the social housing in terms of policy and environment must include safe and eco-friendly design adaptability that can secure local identity and respond flexibly to social change. In addition, the social housing in the UK, which forms a sustainable complex through cooperation between the public and the private sector based on its place and history, can be a guideline for establishing policies and design guidelines in terms of urban regeneration.

This study aims to find the conservation and regeneration plan in terms of preserving and utilizing old wooden houses, regenerating existing buildings, and developing idle land for old dwellings located outside the southern gate of Cheongju, Korea. In the preservation and utilization of old houses, three places in the block where wooden houses clustered are created as conservation houses, and are conversed as cafes, workspaces, and homestays along with the preservation of individual houses. In the regeneration of existing buildings, the street landscape was improved through extension and renovation, new construction after demolition, and exterior renovation for one or two-story buildings facing the roadside. In the development of idle land, it reflects the layout method and open yard space corresponding to the path and orientation of the old house, and the mass was varied and segmented to resolve the medium scale. Accordingly, considering the context, landscape, and environmental aspects of the historical downtown, the development of old dwellings in downtown should shift from a uniform high-rise apartment project-oriented approach to a gradual and continuous regeneration direction.
