Optimization of settlement layout based on parametric generation

  • Design of settlement space is a complicated process while reasonable spatial layout bears great significance on the development and resource allocation of a settlement. The study proposes a weighted L-system generation algorithm based on CA (Cellular Automation) model which tags the spatial attributes of cells through changes in their state during the evolution of CA and thus identifies the spatial growth mode of a settlement. The entrance area of the Caidian Botanical and Animal Garden is used a case study for the model. A design method is proposed which starts from the internal logics of spatial generation, explores possibility of spatial rules and realizes the quantitative analysis and dynamic control of the design process. Taking a top-down approach, the design method takes into account the site information, studies the spatial generation mechanism of settlements and further presents a engine for the generation of multiple layout proposals based on different rules. A optimal solution is acquired using GA (Genetic Algorithm) which generates a settlement spatial layout carrying site information and dynamically linked to the surround environment. The study aims to propose a design method to optimize the spatial layout of the complex settlement system based on parametric generation.

도로 설계 지역 구분 (Area Identification for Road Design)

  • PURPOSES : Ambiguous decision on whether rural or urban area for road design can increase the construction cost and restrict the land use of surrounding area. However, administrative classification on rural and urban area is not directly related to road design because of this classification is not based on the engineering viewpoint, so method which can explain the road design context is required. METHODS : Method which enables to identify the area for road design is suggested based on the deceleration expected to be experienced by drivers who use the road section concerned. Deceleration rate corresponding to the area such as rural or urban suggested in Road Design Guideline is used as the criteria to identify the area by comparing this value with the estimated deceleration rate at the road section concerned. Speed profile method is utilized to derive the deceleration rate, and speed estimation way for reflecting both road geometry and intersection is suggested using stopping sight distance concept. RESULTS : The procedure of the method application is suggested, and the design example utilizing the method is provided. CONCLUSIONS : The method is expected to be used to identify the area for road design with engineering viewpoint, and design consistency among the roads with similar driving environment can be made.

  • 본 연구는 도시 우수관망 설계 시 주어진 설계유랑을 효율적이고 경제적인 단면 구성과 관망에 따른 우수배제능력을 극대화시키기 위해 최적화된 설계를 통하여 경제적인 우수시스템을 설계할 수 있는 모형의 개발이 이루어져야 할 필요성이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최적화 기법으로 동적계획법(Dynamic Programming : DP)의 특수한 방법인 이산미분형 동적계획법(Discrete Differential Dynamic Programming : DDDP)를 이용해 최적화된 설계조건을 구할 수 있도록 하였다. 이산미분형 동적계획법의 기법은 설계유랑과 맨홀의 위치가 결정되면 그에 따른 최적 우수시스템이 될 수 있는 관의 용량, 경사, 수위, 수심, 위험도, 회수비용 등을 결정할 수 있는 방법으로 이는 공사비용에 따른 최소비용을 목적함수로 위험도 분석을 통하여 최적화된 조건을 찾는 방법으로 모형개발을 하였다.

을지로와 홍대앞 디자인산업 클러스터 비교 연구 - 창조산업클러스터 관점을 중심으로 - (Design Industry Clusters of Euljiro and Hongdae Area in Seoul - A Creative Industry Cluster Perspective)

  • 창조산업의 핵심 분야인 디자인산업은 창조산업클러스터를 형성하면서 도시의 문화경제에 상당한 비중을 차지하고 있으나 그동안 별다른 학술적 관심을 받지 못하였다. 본 논문은 중구 을지로와 마포구 홍대앞 두 지역을 중심으로 창조산업클러스터 형성에 관여하는 지역적 요인을 집적경제, 파생효과, 제도적 환경의 차원에서 파악하였다. 연구방법으로는 "서울시사업체현황" 자료를 분석하고 14명의 디자이너를 대상으로 인터뷰를 수행하였다. 분석결과 을지로의 디자인산업클러스터는 인쇄업에 대한 의존이 강하여 전통적 의미의 클러스터에 머물러 직접적이고 경제적인 산출 외에 도시경제에 미치는 영향이 제한적이었던 반면, 홍대앞 디자인산업클러스터는 대학과 예술시장, 복합 문화소비 공간의 창출, 디자이너의 능동적인 활동을 중심으로 창조산업클러스터의 특징을 가지면서 다양한 방식으로 도시경제에 기여한 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이와 같은 비교분석 결과는 창조산업 클러스터의 형성과정에서 지역의 산업적 배경 못지않게 창조적 개인들의 활동과 유입을 자극할 수 있는 대학 등의 환경 요인이 가지는 중요성을 보여준다.

지역입지특성을 반영한 전통시장의 개선방향연구 (A Study on the Development Policy for Tradtional Market Reflecting the Locational Charateristics)

  • A The purpose of this study is to analyze the locational characteristics of the traditional market. In Seoul, small Conventional markets are directly connected with the living of citizens and becoming an important role for organization of the urban functions in the residential area. For this study, 32 Traditional Markets located on Seongbuk, Kangbuk and Dobong-Gu, were analyzed based on GIS, and within 500m related areas of market were categorized and researched by the level of urban infrastructure state. The contents of this study are composed of following three topics, partially theoretical review, general consideration and case studies. The study found that there is in need of improving urban infrastructure in conventional market areas, which has been identified during the research of urban infrastructure. Also, the study shows that it is necessary to develop comprehensive plans by timing and phase in order to improve commercial environment of the areas related while providing essential urban infrastructure. In addition, from the perspective of conventional market regeneration policy, physical conditions of the areas concerned should be focused on the perspective of developing plans and urban infrastructure elements.

도시지역의 통합운영학교 유형과 건축계획 연구 (A Study on the Categories and Architectural Design of the Unified Operation School in Urban Area)

  • In recent years, schools in the urban areas are also showing their interest in the integrated school and considering adapting the actual operation method. That is why decline of the school-age population is not limited to rural areas any more, and decreasing number of students in urban schools is raised as a social issue to reconsider the continuation of schools. To solve the problems of the small-scale schools in the urban area, the integrated school is being considered as an alternative. Furthermore, the newly built schools in the urban development areas are also planned as the integrated school. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine the cases of integrated schools in urban area of developed countries and to analyze their architectural planning considerations in practice.

서울특별시 25개 자치구의 열환경과 미세먼지 간 Granger 인과관계 (Granger Causality between Thermal Environment and PM10 of Seoul's 25 Districts)

  • Today's cities require deeper understanding of the thermal environment and PM10 as their management becomes more critical. Based on these circumstances, this study investigated the Granger causality between the thermal environment and PM10 of the 25 districts of Seoul, the most populous and urbanized city in Korea. The results of the Granger causality test on the thermal environment and PM10 were classified into 12 types. Except for type 12, the temperature and urban island heat intensity of the other 11 types operated as a Granger-cause to each other in both directions. Temperature operates as a Granger-cause of urban island heat intensity in type 12. The PM10 level and urban pollution island intensity operated as a Granger-cause to each other in all districts. For types 1 and 2, thermal environment operated as a Granger-cause to PM10 in one direction, and type 3-type 12 confirmed that thermal environment and PM10 operated as a Granger-cause in both directions. Findings reveal the intricate causalities between thermal environment and PM10 at the district level and suggest mitigation strategies that are more location based.

총합적 경관평가시스템 구축을 위한 3차원 공간차폐 시뮬레이션 및 미디어화 분석기술 (A Development of 3D Simulation and Quantitative Analysis Method for Urban Landscape Design Evaluation System)

  • 경관을 제어할 수 있는 공공의 제도만으로는 지역적 특성을 반영한 체계적이며 유연성 있는 규제가 힘들며, 정량적 지표의 산출이 전제되지 않을 경우 공공사회의 협의가 불가능하기 때문에 도시정보시스템에 연동시킬 수 있는 전산모델화가 가능한 차폐도 분석 시뮬레이션 방법론의 개발은 매우 의미 있는 연구라 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 3차원 그래픽엔진을 이용한 분석시뮬레이션 기술 및 미디어화 방법론을 제안하고, 이를 도시정보시스템의 데이터와 접목하여 최적안을 도출함으로서, 향후 도시정보시스템에서 활용될 수 있는 분석모델로의 가능성을 제시하였다.

도시공원 벤치색상의 시각적 선호 결정 모형 (A Model to Determine the Visual Preference for the Color of Benches Located in Urban Parks)

  • In this paper it is investigated that the visual elements of preference which influence the visual preference for bench. "What color of bench is preferred when the location is the same\ulcorner" Started from those questions, the elements of preference which influence the visual preference for bench is investigated. In this research, a equal standard mark system is applied for the evaluation of visual elements of preference and then the relationship between the visual preference and the elements of preference are examined by the method of multiple regression analysis. The result of primary factor analysis from the visual evaluation in this paper will affect visual preference of the bench in urban park. Thus, the result of this study will contribute to development of urban parks for the maximum satisfaction of park visitors supplying necessary information for a resting place planning and design. It will provide a useful management guide of urban park facilities to prepare a strategic management plan of the benches from the users point of view. Especially, to know the correct preference of people, which will be provided by the evaluation of visual preference to bench will be the key to rest place planning.

젠트리피케이션 부작용 방지를 위한 상가임대인 조세지원 제도의 경제적 효용에 관한 연구 - 성수동 도시재생활성화지역을 중심으로 - (A Study on Economic Utility of Tax Support System of Commercial Lessors for Preventing the Side Effects of Gentrification - Focused on Seongsu-dong Urban Regeneration Area -)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a logical basis for guarantee the effectiveness of the tax support system, which is one of the main measures to prevent the side effects of commercial gentrification. For this purpose, this study analyzes the combination of tax support to replace the loss of net rental income due to stabilize commercial rents and annual rent increase rate that can be substituted through the tax support system based on economic utility of commercial lessors in Seoung-dong, Seoul. The result of this study shows that the tax support system can be used as an effective means to substitute a considerable portion of the net rental income loss due to stabilize commercial rents of Seongsu-dong. However if the rent price continues to rise every year, the tax support system does not work. In order to guarantee the sustainability of the tax support system, annual rent increase rate should be kept below a certain level.
