직광에 의한 눈부심 현상이 터널 출구부 안전성에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study for Influence of Sun Glare Effect on Traffic Safety at Tunnel Hood)

  • PURPOSES : In Korea, over 70 percent of the land consists of mountainous and rolling area. Thus, tunnels continue its upward trend as road network are extended. In these circumstances, the importance of tunnel has been increased nowadays and then its safety investigation and research should be performed. This study is focus on confirming and improving the safety of tunnel. On tunnel hood, sunglare effect can irritate driver's behavior instantly and this can result in incident. METHODS : The study of this phenomenon is rarely conducted in domestic and foreign papers, so there is no proper measure for this. This study analyzes the driving environment of the effect of sunglare effect on tunnel hood. RESULTS : Traffic accidents stem from complex set of factors. This study build the Traffic Accident Prediction Models to find out the effect of sunglare effect on tunnel's hood. The independent variables are traffic volume, geometric design of road, length of tunnel and road side environment. Using these variables, this model estimates accident frequency on tunnel hood by Poisson regression model and Negative binomial regression model. Although Poisson regression model have more proper goodness of fit than Negative binomial regression model, Poisson regression model has overdipersion problem. So the Negative binomial regression model is used in this analysis. CONCLUSIONS : Consequently, the model shows that sunglare effect can play a role in driving safety on tunnel hood. As a result, the information of sunglare effect should be noticed ahead of tunnel hood so this can prevent drivers from being in hazard situation.

Effects of Magnetic Field Intensities for Various Lengths of Time on Orientation of Fowl Spermatozoa

  • This study used fowl sperm from three White Leghom rooster reared at our laboratory. Semen samples were exposed to the magnetic field strengths of from 650 to 5700 Gauss for one. two, or three days to investigate the influence of magnetic field on the orientation of fowl spermatozoa. Fowl spermatozoa were found to orient with their long axis of heads perpendicular to the magnetic field direction. The fowl spermatozoa were initially influenced when magnetic field intensities were from 650 to 5700 Gauss and the highest values (70.67, 72.49 and 71.79%) were found in the 5700 Gauss treatment at one, two, and three days exposure, respectively. Although percentages of the perpendicular oriented fowl spermatozoa increased along with the enhancement of the magnetic field intensity, the degree of orientation was only significantly higher in the treatments having the magnetic field strength from 1500 to 5700 Gauss than that in the control treatment at all exposure time. In addition, the experimental results also showed that the percentages of all orientational types of fowl spermatozoa (perpendicular category including upward perpendicular and downward perpendicular and parallel type consisting of leftward parallel and rightward parallel) in all treatments tended to be stable during exposure time. From the results of this study. it is suggested that (1) the diamagnetic anisotropy of the inside structural components of fowl spermatozoa induce them to orient perpendicular to the magnetic field direction, (2) the degree of orientation increased according to the enhancement of magnetic field strengths, (3) fowl spermatozoa had not an high sensitivity to the magnetic field, and the level of perpendicular orientation of fowl spermatozoa in this study is nearly similar to that of cattle sperm in the study of Suga et al. (2000).

  • 본 논문은 비평탄 지형에서 능동형 보행보조기를 구동하고자 할 때, 바닥 지형에 의해 발생하는 보행의지 센서의 영향을 줄이기 위한 논문이다. 최근 보행보조기에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있으며, 외부 경사지형, 둔턱, 계단 등의 비평탄 지형에서도 안정적으로 차량을 이동시킬 수 있도록 고안된 능동형 보행보조기에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 실외에서 사용되는 능동형 보행보조기에 있어 진동해석 및 비평탄 지형을 이동하면서 발생하는 기계적 충격을 줄일 수 있는 알고리즘의 개발은 능동형 보행보조기에 있어 해결해야 할 문제 중 하나이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 비평탄 지형에서의 진동을 해석할 수 있도록 가속도 센서를 적용하였으며, 둔턱을 넘을 때 발생하는 진동에 의해 보행의지 센서에 가해지는 진동에 의한 충격을 감쇠시킬 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 이를 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

열장 흐름 분획법에서 중력효과에 의한 고분자의 머무름 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Gravitational Effect Influencing Retention Behavior of Polymer in Thermal Field Flow Fractionation)

  • 평판형 열장흐름분획법에서 중력효과에 의한 polystyrene(PS)와 polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA)의 머무름 거동에 관하여 연구하였다. 하향 이동상 흐름의 경우 이동상 흐름 방향과 같은 방향으로 작용하는 중력 효과는 수평면 으로부터 장치각도가 0.deg.에서 60.deg.까지 변화함에 따라 증가하였다. 이 효과는 PS와 PMMA의 머무름 시간을 작게 하였고, 무차원 변수 .lambda.의 값을 증가시켰다. 그리고 분자량이 다른 두개의 고분자 머무름 시간차를 감소시켜 분리기능 저하시켰다. 상향 이동상 흐름의 경우 이동상 흐름의 반재 방향으로 작용하는 중력 효과는 수평면으로부터 장치의 각도가 0.deg.에서 60.deg.까지 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. 이 효과는 PS와 PMMA의 머무름 시간을 크게 하였고, 무차원 변수.lambda.의 값을 감소 시켰다. 그리고 분자량이 다른 두 개의 고분자 머무름 시간 차를 증가시켜 분리능을 향상시켰다.

Electronic Structure of the SrTiO3(001) Surfaces: Effects of the Oxygen Vacancy and Hydrogen Adsorption

  • The influence of electron irradiation and hydrogen adsorption on the electronic structure of the $SrTiO_3$ (001) surface was investigated by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS). Upon electron irradiation of the surface, UPS revealed an electronic state within the band gap (in-gap state: IGS) with the surface kept at $1{\times}1$. This is considered to originate from oxygen vacancies at the topmost surface formed by electron-stimulated desorption of oxygen. Electron irradiation also caused a downward shift of the valence band maximum indicating downward band-bending and formation of a conductive layer on the surface. With oxygen dosage on the electron-irradiated surface, on the other hand, the IGS intensity was decreased along with upward band-bending, which points to disappearance of the conductive layer. The results indicate that electron irradiation and oxygen dosage allow us to control the surface electronic structure between semiconducting (nearly-vacancy free: NVF) and metallic (oxygen de cient: OD) regimes by changing the density of the oxygen vacancy. When the NVF surface was exposed to atomic hydrogen, in-gap states were induced along with downward band bending. The hydrogen saturation coverage was evaluated to be $3.1{\pm}0.8{\times}10^{14}cm^{-2}$ with nuclear reaction analysis. From the IGS intensity and H coverage, we argue that H is positively charged as $H^{{\sim}0:3+}$ on the NVF surface. On the OD surface, on the other hand, the IGS intensity due to oxygen vacancies was found to decrease to half the initial value with molecular hydrogen dosage. H is expected to be negatively charged as $H^-$ on the OD surface by occupying the oxygen vacancy site.

비포화 토양층 내 유기 용매의 이류 이동에 대한 다상 모델링 (Multiphase Modeling on the Convective Transport of an Organic Solvent through Unsaturated Soils)

  • 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin(TCDD)로 오염된 토양의 현장 광분해 정화 과정에서 가장 중요한 이동 메커니즘인 지표에서의 증발 및 광분해에 의한 유기 용매의 이류 상방향 이동에 대한 수식화와 모델 개발을 수행하였다. 각 유체 분포에 대한 다상 유동 효과, 구동력으로서의 중력, k-S-p 관계의 정확한 묘사를 위한 van Genutchen 방정식을 포함한 유한요소법 기반의 수치 모델을 제안하였다. 실험실 규모의 비포화 토양 컬럼 내 용매 이동에 중요한 영향을 미치는 인자들을 조사하기 위하여 수행한 계산의 결과들을 제시하였다. 중력은 고투수성 토양의 유체 분포와 증발에 상당한 영향을 미쳤다. 토양의 종류 또한 증발 과정 중 유체 포화도 분포에 큰 영향을 미친다. 용매의 이류 이동량은 증발량이 증가할수록 초기 물 포화도가 감소할수록 증가하였다. 본 연구에서 수행한 시뮬레이션은 개발된 모델이 토양 환경 내에서 유기 용매의 이류 이동에 영향을 미치는 다양한 인자들의 영향을 분석하는데 유용함을 보여준다.

영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성 평가 및 영향요인 분석 (Productivity Evaluation and Factor Analysis in Commercial Road Freight Transport Industry)

  • 본 논문에서는 2005년 1사분기부터 2009년 3사분기까지 개별 화물자동차 운전자들의 실제 화물운송 실적자료를 이용하여 영업용 도로화물운송업의 업종 및 품목별 생산 효율성을 평가하고, 위탁관리제 및 다단계거래 등 규제적 요인을 포함하여 영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성 평가를 위해 자료포락분석법을 적용하였고, 개별 화물자동차 운전자들의 생산 효율성에 미치는 영향요인을 분석하기 위해 토빗모형을 이용하였다. 분석결과, 개별화물과 용달화물보다는 일반화물 업종의 생산 효율성이 더 높은 것으로 분석되었으며, 품목별로는 철강화물의 생산 효율성이 가장 높고, 유류화물의 생산 효율성이 가장 낮은 것으로 평가되었다. 특히 시간이 지남에 따라 영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성은 소폭 증감을 보이고 있으나, 전반적으로 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 아울러 본 연구에서는 실증분석결과를 토대로 영업용 도로화물운송업의 생산 효율성 증대를 위한 정책방향을 제시하였다.

Analysis for mechanical characteristics and failure models of coal specimens with non-penetrating single crack

  • It is normal to observe the presence of numerous cracks in coal body. And it has significantly effective on the mechanical characteristics and realistic failure models of coal mass. Therefore, this paper is to investigate the influence of crack parameters on coal body by comprehensive using theoretical analysis, laboratory experiments and numerical simulation through prepared briquette specimens. Different from intact coal body possessing single peak in stress-strain curve, other specimens with crack angle can be illustrated to own double peaks. Moreover, the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of specimens decreases and follow by increasing with the increase of crack angle. It seems to like a parabolic shape with an upward opening. And it can be demonstrated that the minimum UCS is obtained in crack angle $45^{\circ}$. In terms of failure types, it is interesting to note that there is a changing trend from tensile failure to tensile-shear mixing failure with tension dominant follow by shear dominant with the increase of crack angle. However, the changing characteristics of UCS and failure forms can be explained by elastic-plastic and fracture mechanics. Lastly, the results of numerical simulations are good consistent with the experimental results. It provides experimental and theoretical foundations to reveal fracture mechanism of coal body with non-penetrating single crack further.

  • Global warming under the influence of climate change and its direct impact on glacial and sea level are known issue. However, there is a lack of research on an indirect impact of climate change such as coastal structure design which is mainly based on a frequency analysis of water level under the stationary assumption, meaning that maximum sea level will not vary significantly over time. In general, stationary assumption does not hold and may not be valid under a changing climate. Therefore, this study aims to develop a novel approach to explore possible distributional changes in annual maximum sea levels (AMSLs) and provide the estimate of design water level for coastal structures using a multiple non-crossing quantile regression based nonstationary frequency analysis within a Bayesian framework. In this study, 20 tide gauge stations, where more than 30 years of hourly records are available, are considered. First, the possible distributional changes in the AMSLs are explored, focusing on the change in the scale and location parameter of the probability distributions. The most of the AMSLs are found to be upward-convergent/divergent pattern in the distribution, and the significance test on distributional changes is then performed. In this study, we confirm that a stationary assumption under the current climate characteristic may lead to underestimation of the design sea level, which results in increase in the failure risk in coastal structures. A detailed discussion on the role of the distribution changes for design water level is provided.

A Stochastic Frontier Analysis of Trade Efficiency for the Sino-Korea Trade

  • Purpose - This paper intends to make theoretical analysis and empirical test on the factors influencing China's export to South Korea, and draw conclusions about China's export efficiency and trade potential. Based on the conclusions, the reasons for China's trade deficit with South Korea are found, and a solution is put forward for solving the problem of China's trade deficit with South Korea. Design/methodology - Based on the data of 2004-2017 years in China, this paper uses the stochastic frontier gravity model to analyze the influencing factors of China's export to South Korea, as well as the export efficiency of each province and the export potential that can be explored. Findings - First, in terms of the factors affecting China's export trade to South Korea, the GDP of the provinces and cities in China, the FDI of South Korea to the provinces and cities in China, the GDP of South Korea, the population and education level of provinces and cities in China can significantly promote the export scale of Chinese provinces and cities to South Korea. The distance between Chinese provincial capitals and the South Korean capital significantly hinders Chinese exports to South Korea; Second, in terms of export trade efficiency, the trade exchange rate of the economically developed cities along the eastern coast of China and several provinces that are close to South Korea is higher than that of the cities in the central and western regions; Third, economic globalization makes trade more convenient, the average export trade efficiency of China's exports to South Korea showed an upward trend. However, under the influence of the 2008 global financial crisis, the export trade efficiency declined from 2008 to 2009, indicating that the impact of the financial crisis on the trade efficiency cannot be ignored. Originality/value - This paper finds out the influencing factors of China's export to South Korea, analyzes the export efficiency of different provinces and cities, excavates the export potential, and puts forward some suggestions for the balanced development of China and South Korea trade in the next step.
