  • A family business is a company where most of its capital and the management position is owned by family members (clan). The leader plays an important role in defining an organization, thus influencing the organization's success. A leader who has a leadership style based on family (clan) relation has the facilitator's role when conflict appears within the organization. This research aims to find the impact of the democratic leadership model on a family business that adopts the clan cultural organization. The independent variable of this research is the democratic leadership model. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is the clan culture within the organization. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive and causality type of research. This research population is PT Global Avionika Indonesia staff, where the data was acquired by distributing questionnaires using a saturated sampling technique. The finding in this research shows a positive and significant impact of the democratic leadership model on the clan culture within the organization PT Global Avionika. The determination test also points out that democratic leadership models affect 19.8 percent of the clan culture within the organization, and the rest of 80.2 percent were affected by other factors that were not covered in this research.

  • In recent years, numerous studies have identified and explored issues related to web-service-oriented business process specifications, such as business process execution language (BPEL). In particular, business rules are an important cross-cutting concern that should be distinguished from business process instances. In this paper, we present a rule-based aspect oriented programming (AOP) framework where business rule aspects contained in business processes can be effectively separated and executed. This is achieved by using a mechanism of the business rule itself at the business rule engine instead of using existing programming language-based AOP technologies. Through some illustrative examples, this work also introduces a method by which business rule aspects, separated through an external rule engine, can be represented and evaluated. We also demonstrate how they can be dynamically woven and executed by providing an implementation example which uses two open-source-based products, the Mandarax rules engine and Bexee BPEL engine.

  • Purpose: There has been a consistent failure of businesses that are run by a single person. Most of these collapse at infancy prematurely and those that survive continue to operate at minimal capacity. The study thus sought to enhance growth of sole proprietors from being small entities to large corporates. Financial determinants of business growth were earmarked for research as they were amongst the grey areas of business growth research. Research design, data and methodology: The target population of the study was made up of groceries retail sole proprietors operating in Epworth, Zimbabwe. Questionnaires were used in a once-off cross-sectional survey using stratified random sampling. Through a deductive research approach, four financial determinants of business growth were established namely financial availability, financial management, financial evaluation and financial investment (AMEI). These constructs formulated the basis for the development of the model which linked financial factors to business growth. Results: The study found out that all four financial determinants were statistically significant (P < 0.05) in predicting business growth. Conclusions: The study concludes that the model tested was useful in explaining sole proprietor's business growth. Sole proprietors should have access to funding, manage received funds in an appropriate manner, invest into the business and evaluate their business processes.

The presented systematic literature review is conducted to highlight elucidating the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) methods and techniques within AI-enabled businesses, the significance and functions of AI-enabled organizational models and frameworks, and the design parameters employed in academic research studies within the AI-enabled business domain. We reviewed 39 empirical studies that were published between 2010 and 2023. The studies that were chosen are classified based on the artificial intelligence business technique, empirical research design, and SLR search protocol criteria. According to the findings, machine learning and artificial intelligence were reported as popular methods used for business process modelling in 19% of the studies. Healthcare was the most experimented business domain used for empirical evaluation in 28% of the primary research. The most common reason for using artificial intelligence in businesses was to improve business intelligence. 51% of main studies claimed to have been carried out as experiments. 53% of the research followed experimental guidelines and were repeatable. For the design of business process modelling, eighteen AI mythology were discovered, as well as seven types of AI modelling goals and principles for organisations. For AI-enabled business models, safety, security, and privacy are key concerns in society. The growth of AI is influencing novel forms of business.

  • This holistic research focused on the interactive relationship of different factors with a unique relationship with the dependent variable. The first research objective of the study was to identify the most significant factor that has an impact on Job performance while being mediated. The second objective was to see the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between transformation leadership and innovation on job performance. This research followed a purely quantitative research paradigm with a structured questionnaire to quantify the information collected from 96 respondents for the empirical analysis. For testing the research hypotheses, IBM SPSS version 24 and SmartPLS version 3.2.8 softwares were used to run the structural equation modeling to establish the causal relationship between the study variables. Most of the variables were found with a significant impact on job performance. Further, the hypotheses H3, H6, and H10 were rejected as these contributed insignificant towards the research model. This research was limited to specific educational institutions and businesses, and the timeframe was restrictive. The findings of this research can benefit policymakers and the operational side of various industries. Future research may consider the difference in gender in predicting employee engagement through leadership and innovation.

The location of the research is the Vessel PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is used on all crossings of the company. It is a survey research using questionnaires given to 150 respondents. The validity and reliability were checked using Pearson correlation and Cronbach's Alpha. The analysis used the WarpPLS statistical method and WarpPLS software. The results from this research show that the increased Servant Leadership will improve Service Innovation. Business Transformation developed by PT ASDP has not been able to improve Service Innovation. To our knowledge, there is no study on the concept of comprehensive competitiveness and sustainability involving Servant Leadership, Business Transformation, and Service Innovation in an integrated and simultaneous manner.
