This study examined the perception and use of web 2.0 applications for academic purposes by medical students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. The objective was to investigate the medical students' perceptions of web 2.0 applications, web 2.0 tools use, extent of use, perception and purpose for using web 2.0 applications. Descriptive survey method was used for this study. The total population of this study was 3670 and the sample size was 367 representing 10% of the study. The purposive sampling technique was adopted, and the instrument used for this study was questionnaire, a total of 367 copies were administered and 321 were found useful for the study. Percentage means and standard deviation on table and chart were used to analyze the data collected using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Findings showed that the perception of web 2.0 applications of medical students AAU was positive and few of web 2.0 applications were used for academic purposes. It was recommended in the study that medical students should be provided with the facilities in a format more familiar to them and used by most of them and institutions need to equip the learning process with the needed facilities which will be of utmost benefit even for future purposes.

본 연구는 Y세대 대학생의 정보활용능력 교육을 위하여 이들의 세대적 특성을 이해하고, 관련기준과 교육모형의 비교분석을 통하여 국내 대학도서관의 온라인 튜터리얼 개발과 교육에 있어 개선해야 할 사항을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로 정착단계에 있는 미국의 온라인 튜터리얼과 일본의 교육내용을 국내의 그것과 비교분석하고 재구성하여 국내 대학도서관의 Y세대를 위한 온라인 튜터리얼 교수-학습에 필수적인 콘텐츠를 제안하고 개선방안을 제시하였다.

이 연구의 궁극적인 목적은 대학도서관의 서비스 품질 측정을 위한 도구를 제시하고 이에 기반하여 서비스 개선방안을 도출하는 하나의 과정을 보여주고자 하였다. 본 연구는 대학도서관의 서비스 품질 측정을 위한 구성 차원과 세부항목을 구성하기 위해 LibQUAL+(R)를 참조하였고 그래서 대학도서관의 서비스 품질은 서비스 태도 품질, 정보관리 품질, 도서관건물 품질의 세가지 차원으로 구성하였다. 각 세부 항목에 대한 측정지표는 DigiQUAL(R)의 이용자의 서비스에 대한 중요도와 만족도가 사용되었다. 실사례 데이타는 H대학 서비스 품질에 대한 이용자 113명의 설문을 통해 수집되었고. SPSS를 통해 기술통계적인 분석이 수행되었다. 그리고 도서관의 품질 제고를 위한 개선방안 및 우선 관리 항목을 도출하기 위해서는 불일치모형(gaps model) 분석과 ISA(Importance-Satisfaction Analysis) 기법을 사용하였다.

학술잡지 구입 예산의 구입비용 상승에 따른 압력으로 지난 수십년간 학술잡지의 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔지만, 학술잡지의 선택에 대한 만족할만한 이론적 틀이 제시되지 못하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 의학도서관에서 의학분야의 학술잡지의 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 확인하여 이러한 이론적 틀을 제시할 수 있는 근거를 마련코자 한다. 본 연구는 상관관계 분석과 로지스틱회귀분석을 통해 학술잡지선택의 분산을 설명하고, 나아가 예측하는 통계적 모델들을 여러 변수조합을 이용해 제시한다. 또한 이러한 모델의 실제적 적용과 향후 연구방향을 논의한다.

본 연구는 지니계수(Gini coefficient)를 활용해 대학도서관 간에 나타나는 학술정보자원의 불평등을 지수화함으로써 격차가 극심하게 나타나고 있는 부분을 확인하고 이러한 격차가 지난 10년간 어떠한 변화를 보였는지 파악하였다. 더불어 수도권대학, 지방국립대와 사립대, 전문대 등 대학의 지역/유형별로 동종 대학간에 나타나고 있는 격차의 정도와 특성도 비교하였다. 그 결과 첫 번째, 대학도서관 학술정보 인프라는 전반적으로 심각한 불균등 수준(g = 0.6-0.9)을 보이고 있으며, 연속간행물, 전자자원, 참고봉사서비스 측면에서 격차가 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 재학생수를 고려해 재계산한 지니계수도 연속간행물 등에 있어서는 여전히 g = 0.4 이상을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 두 번째, 지난 10년간의 지니계수 추이를 살펴보면 전자정보자원과 직원의 재교육 시간에서 지니계수가 평등한 쪽으로 하향하는 추이를 보였으나 다른 항목에 있어서는 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 세 번째, 특수대학과 수도권 대학간에는 큰 격차가 존재하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 지방 국립대학간은 상대적으로 양호한 격차 수준을 보이는 것으로 분석되었다.

대학도서관의 리모델링프로젝트를 진행할 때 가장 중요한 부분은 리모델링프로젝트의 추진방향인 목표를 잡는 것이다. 대학도서관은 주요 이용자인 학생들을 위한 공간이 되어야 한다는 것을 최종목표로 삼았을 때, 공간배치나 내부 인테리어 디자인은 자연스럽게 이용자중심적 설계로 이어진다. 본 대학도서관은 다음과 같은 세 가지의 목표를 수립하고 대학도서관 리모델링 프로젝트를 추진하였다. 첫째, 대학도서관은 이용자인 학생들의 생활의 중심장소가 되어야 한다. 둘째, 대학도서관은 이용자가 문화적인 체험의 기회를 가질 수 있도록 복합문화공간이 되어야 한다. 셋째, 대학도서관은 이용자가 오래 머물고 싶은 장소가 되어야 한다. 이용자가 도서관에 오래 머물게 될 때, 이용자는 도서관이 제공하는 서비스에 자연스럽게 노출되어 이용으로 연결되기 때문에 대학도서관은 매력적인 장소가 될 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 대학도서관 리모델링프로젝트를 수행하면서 준비한 내용과 진행의 전 과정을 소개함으로서 비슷한 프로젝트를 준비하는 관련자들과 유용한 정보와 경험을 나누고자 한다.

This paper investigates how strategy formulation and implementation processes used by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in building its digital collections compare with the Andrew's strategic formulation and implementation theoretical framework. Theory-testing case study methodology was used. The data collection instruments were the key informant interview technique and document reviews. During the formulation phase, two aspects (resources and aspirations of senior management) were emergent. During the implementation phase, five aspects (achieving results, processes and behaviour, standards, motivation, personal) were emergent. All other elements of building the UCC digital collections were planned during both the formulation and implementation phases. Although the emphasis on students and learning is laudable and apt, there seems to be lack of focus on research support beyond digital collection building, despite the fact that research excellence is one of the UCC's key priorities. Opportunities exist for improving feedback mechanisms between the users, digital library staff and the university management; and inclusion of social media tools in the digital library project. Since only the experience of a single institution of higher learning is considered, it cannot be definitively stated that strategy formulation and implementation will be similar in every institutional context. However, the results provide a basis for academic digital libraries to draw lessons from this case. In African public universities, there is little earlier research on strategy formulation and implementation in digital library management. Strategy formulation and implementation is a critical issue for higher education academic libraries especially in developing countries like Ghana, due to limited financial resources and the rapid change in the information environment during the last several decades.

본 연구의 목적은 북한 도서관 및 도서관학 분야의 연구동향과 관련 용어를 분석해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 북한의 도서관학에 해당하는 남한의 문헌정보학 분야를 7개의 주제 범주와 25개의 세부 주제 영역으로 구분하고, 남한에 현존하는 북한의 도서관 및 도서관학 분야 잡지 2종에 실린 136편의 논문을 남한의 세부 주제 영역에 따라 재분류하여 분석하였다. 남한 문헌정보학 분야의 세부 주제 영역은 문헌정보학 분야 주요 학술지 3종(한국문헌정보학회지, 한국도서관·정보학회지, 한국정보관리학회지)의 논문투고 기준을 바탕으로 논문 투고 시 저자가 선택하게 되는 주제 구분을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 분석 대상이 된 학술지는 북한의 대표적인 도서관 및 도서관학 분야 잡지인 『김일성종합대학학보(어문학)』(2008~2018)와 『도서관일군 참고자료』(2016~2017) 2종이다. 본 연구에서 제시된 북한의 전문용어와 최근 도서관 및 도서관학 분야 연구동향은 향후 남북 도서관 및 관련분야 연구자 간 학술교류 시 의제 선정의 발판이 될 수 있을 것이다.

The emergence of the World Wide Web (WWW) has changed the scholarly publishing system. Today, Open Access (OA) scholarly publishing offers free access and wide dissemination for research findings anytime and anywhere as an additional value for scholarly content. Despite the potentials of OA publishing, its adoption and use is still low.This paper determines factors influencing the adoption and use of OA publishing by academic staff in universities in Nigeria using an adapted Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT). The study applies methodological triangulation by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The empirical data were collected from 317 academic staff in universities in southwest Nigeria. The questionnaire forms were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (IBM-SPSS) 19.0 version to generate descriptive statistics, Analysis of Variance, and Hierarchical Multiple Regression. Thematically, analysis also applies to the interviews. The results show that awareness, attitude, performance expectancy, Internet self-efficacy, and facilitating conditions significantly influenced the adoption and use of OA publishing. The study also reveals that due to lack of OA policy, most of the respondents did not know about OA. The findings further establish that all predictors and moderating variables jointly contributed 64.4% total variance towards the adoption and use of OA publishing. One of the implications of this study is that there is a need for adequate facilities to support adoption and use of OA publishing. The findings inform the proposed framework for improving and evaluating the adoption and use of OA publishing. The findings also have theoretical, societal, and methodological significance to all stakeholders.

최근 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 학술지 비용의 압박에 의해 도서관은 심각한 위기상황을 직면하고 있다. 도서관으로서는 학술지 종수의 삭감이나 대폭적인 예산 증액과 같은 조치를 취하든지, 새로운 학술지 유통 모델을 개발하든지 하는 결정을 해야 할 형편이다. 이 논문은 후자의 관점에 따라, 새롭게 등장하고 있는 학술유통 체제와 관련된 여러 가지 활동들을 고찰하고, 그것의 실천적인 모델인 개방접근 디지털도서관의 사례와 핵심기능에 대하여 고찰하고 있다. 새로운 학술유통 체제는 학술기관의 학술적 권위를 회복하고, 개방접근을 통한 학술자원의 공공성을 확보하고, 디지털 시대의 새로운 학술유통 모델로서 역할을 수행할 수 있을 것이다.
