  • 최근 가정에서 사용되고 기기 중 원격제어기(Remote controller)로 제어가 가능한 기기가 늘어나고 있다. 이에 따라 여러 기기들이 있는 경우 사용자는 기기들을 동시 제어하려 할 때 제어하고자 하는 제어대상에 맞는 원격제어기를 찾기 위해 많은 시간을 소비하는 경우가 일반적이다. 이러한 불편함이 증가함에 따라 통합원격제어기(Universal remote controller)의 보급이 증가하고 있으나, 여전히 여러 기기를 동시제어하고자 할 경우 제어코드의 입력 등 복잡한 절차를 걸쳐 사용할 수 밖에 없으며, 이러한 점은 결국 통합원격제어기의 사용성을 현저히 약화시킨다. 본 고에서는 인간이 제어대상기기를 제어하고자 하는 의도를 원격제어기에 전달하는 여러 방법 중 인간이 물체를 인식하는 것과 동일한 메타포인 직관적인 '지시(Pointing)'법을 사용하여 실시간으로 다중기기를 통합 제어하는 방법, 즉 지시통합제어방법(Point and Control)에 대한 센서 및 하드웨어구조를 설명하고, 구동방식을 제안한다.

  • RC(Remote Control) is a technology that can efficiently control and transfer a variety of user commands to CEs. However, the existing RCs have been required various additional features such as communication between CEs, extension of communication range, low power-consumption and bi-directional communication according to the advent of new types of CE devices and its enhanced performance. Even though RC controller has many customers' requests, it is not a simple solution because most legacies work on IR-based RC. In this paper, we propose RF4CE-based Universal Remote Control Framework using Smartphone in order to solve the many constraints of IR legacies. The proposed R-URC system is designed by RF4CE platform which is a kind of de-facto standard for CE remote control communication. From the verification scenarios using various CEs and smart phone, we can see that the proposed R-URC shows the good practical usage in terms of contents sharing and smart CE control.

  • Most of existing integrated remote controllers can control only a group of home appliances made by the same manufacturer. And they cannot monitor the status of home appliances since they are based on analog RF(Radio Frequency) signal and operate in a uni-directional manner In this paper, we propose a software framework for a hi-directional universal remote controller(URC) which monitors the status of home appliances in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). The URC can handle the control and status messages which consist of a command with related arguments. When a user wants to control any home appliance, the URC can be dynamically configured to its dedicated remote controller by generating a GUI according to its profile. Any other devices which have a capacity for understanding the profile from the controlled devices can play the same role of the URC.

  • Recently, remote controls for home appliances have been produced as many as the number of home appliances per household, and new home appliances are being released, but the number of new remote controls is continuously increasing due to their separate functions. Therefore, it is not inconvenient for first time users to use many remote controls because it is difficult and bulky. In recent years, the practical use of a universal remote control, such as large companies such as SAMSUNG and LG are producing a variety of forms. In this paper, we explain how to transmit and receive data format and infrared remote control through custom code identification method used in IR remote control for each company, and to see the size, characteristics and difference with ordinary remote control through ATmega128 remote control experiment. The ATmega128 can be used to control various home appliances displayed on the LCD. As a result, it can be seen that the number of remote controllers having only each function is reduced, and the integrated remote controller using ATmega128 Can handle household appliances.

  • A hand controller in teleoperation is a man-machine interface device that provides real-time interaction between a human operator at control site and a slave manipulator at remote site. In this paper, we examine the design issure related to various types of hand controllers in use. Emphasis is placed on bilateral hand controllers and their design parameters. We describe the design of a new 6 degree-of-freedom universal force-reflecting hand controller to control a remote Schilling Titan manipulator. This hand controller allows the operstor to maintain spatial corresponence in remote manipulative operation and fell a sense of contact with the environment. Finally, we demonstrate the graphic simulation of the hand controller to verify its design characteristics.

  • In this paper, development of voice activated Universal Remote Control using the Neural Networks. A speaker dependent system is developed to operate for a single speaker. These systems are usually easier to develop, cheaper to buy and more accurate, but not as flexible as speaker adaptive or speaker independent systems. A speaker independent system is developed to operate for any speaker of a particular type (e.g. American English). These systems are the most difficult to develop, most expensive and accuracy is lower than speaker dependent systems. However, they are more flexible. A speaker adaptive system is developed to adapt its operation to the characteristics of new speakers. It's difficulty lies somewhere between speaker independent and speaker dependent systems. This paper is developed Speaker Adaptation using the Neural Networks.

Development of a Teleoperated Manipulator System for Remote Handling of Spent Fuel Bundles

  • A teleoperated manipulator system has been developed for remote handling of the spent fuel bundles. A heavy-duty power manipulator with high reduction ratio joints is used for the slave manipulator in the developed system since the handling tasks of the spent fuel bundles need power. Also, the universal type master manipulator, which has force reflecting capability, is used for precise remote manipulation. The power manipulators so frequently occur the control input saturation that the precise control performances are not achieved due to the windup phenomenon. An advanced bilateral control scheme compensating for the saturation is applied to the teleoperated manipulator system. The validity of the developed system is verified by the grid cutting and fuel transportation tasks from the mockup spent fuel bundle.

  • This study has been focused on the development of an open architecture CNC system and integration of core application technology for machine tool such as a remote monitoring/diagnosis system, NURBS interpolation, and cutting process simulation. To do this, we have developed a comprehensive CNC software including the basic HMI, screen editor, ASF, and visual builder. As a control hardware system for machine tool, the universal I/O module and CNC main unit have been developed. Then the remote monitoring/diagnosis system and NURBS interpolation have been implemented in the CNC software. The cutting simulation software will be used for enhancing the productivity of machine tools. Through a simulator and test bed, the whole technology has been verified.

  • 사용자가 필요에 따라 부가적으로 구매하는 통합 리모컨은 사용자 편의 측면에서의 접근성과 효율성이 매우 중요하다. 이러한 사용자 편의가 보장된 상태에서 부가적인 기능성이 제공될 때 사용성을 높일 수 있다. 하지만 기존 통합형 리모컨의 경우 제한된 기능과 설정의 불편함이 있으며, 최근 스마트화 되고 있는 가전기기의 제어에는 한계점이 존재한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 통합형 리모컨의 제한된 기능을 개선하고, 사용자 접근을 손쉽게 한 통합 리모컨을 제안한다.

  • In remote control of telerobotics equipment, the real-time visual feedback is necessary in order to facilitate real-time control. Because of the network congestion and the associated delays, the real-time image feedback is generally difficult in the public networks like internet. If the remote user is not able to receive the image feedback within a certain time, the work performance may tend to decrease, and it makes difficulties to control of the telerobotics equipment. In this paper, we propose an improved visual feedback scheme over the internet for telerobotics system. The size of a remote site image and its quality are adjusted for efficient transmission. The constructed system has a better real-time update characteristics, and shows a potential for the real-time visual control of the telerobotics system.
