상생지원(相生池苑) 기본계획 (A Landscape Design of Sangsaengjiwon)

  • The purpose of this plan was to introduce the imaginary environment concept to modem environment design which was drawn by comparison of historic and cultural landscape. An area of $19,056m^2$ in I1-ja mountain water reservoir, located in 94 Dun-Chon-Dong, Gangdong-Gu, Seoul was selected for this planning. The concepts of Barrier-Free Design and Universal Design were introduced in order to accept the demands of various social classes. Based on the results of natural and cultural environment, Animism, Heaven, Earth and Man Theory and Yin-Yang and the Five Elements Theory these concepts were introduced for the philosophical background. Concept planning, topic selection, space planning and axis establishment were conducted during the framework step of the plan. Circulation planning, planting planning, facility and pavement planning, and light planning were conducted during the initial planning step. Lastly, detailed designing was performed for the major spaces. In addition, the imaginary environment concept was applied, ranging from the structural aspect of the space to designing factors of the facility in order to achieve placeness and practicality. In conclusion, this may be the first case design applying the imaginary environment concept to the environmental design with natural environment factors such as animals, plants, terrains and climate, and cultural such as cities, places, time, thoughts and symbols which are all factors to be considered in the existing environment design.

유니버설디자인을 적용한 욕실의 모듈별 디자인 플랫폼 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Module-specific Design Platform for a Bathroom Using Universal Design)

  • 본 연구는 유니버설디자인의 개념을 활용하여 고령자, 장애인, 일반인 등에 이르기까지 다양한 사용자의 요구 및 적정 환경에 맞춘 유연한 환경을 구성할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 이는 대상별 분석에 따른 최적의 크기, 색상 등을 도출함으로써 사용자에게 알맞은 세부적인 모듈별 디자인 플랫폼을 구축함으로 보다 편리한 환경을 구현하고자 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 유니버설디자인의 이해와 욕실 현황을 살펴보았으며, 다양한 사용자별 분석으로 디자인 전개를 진행하였다. 결과물을 통해 가상환경을 조성하여 일반인과 장애인등의 다양한 사용자들에게 1,2 차에 걸쳐 사용성 평가를 실시하였다. 이에 평균 90점 대 이상의 우수한 평가를 얻었으며 이는, 기존 욕실과 비교하여 차별성을 나타내는 결과로 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 다양한 사용자들에게 새로운 경험을 제공할 수 있는 모듈별 디자인 플랫폼 개발로 주거공간에서 욕실의 패러다임을 변화시키며 보다 안전하고 편안한 가정환경 조성 및 건강한 삶의 질 향상으로 이어지리라 판단한다. 향후 이러한 모듈 시스템들이 욕실 내에서만 머무르지 않으며 사람이 머무를 수 있는 다양한 주거 공간에서도 지속적으로 연구되기를 기대한다.

도시철도 역사 안전사고 감소 및 예방을 위한 유니버설디자인 요소 도출 (Identifying Universal Design Factors for Reducing and Preventing Negligent Accidents in Urban Railway Station)

  • 도시철도 역사의 안전사고는 사고 당사자에게 피해를 주는 것에 그치지 않고 대중교통 이용을 기피하는 원인이 되기도 한다. 본 논문은 도시철도 역사에서 발생하는 안전사고를 감소시키고 이를 근본적으로 예방하기 위해 도시철도 역사 설계 시 고려해야 할 디자인 요소를 도출하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 특히 최근 새로이 등장하고 있는 모든 사람을 위한 디자인, 즉 유니버설디자인 관점에서 도시철도 역사의 안전을 위해 역사 설계 시 고려해야 할 요소를 도출하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 본 연구는 도시철도 역사에서 발생하는 안전사고를 유형별로 분류하여 위험도를 분석하고 사고 원인을 분석하였다. 이를 통해, 도시철도 역사에서 발생하는 안전사고와 관계가 높은 요소를 도출하고, 이를 유니버설디자인 관점에서 그 중요도를 고려하여 디자인 요소를 도출하였다. 본 연구 결과는 도시철도 역사의 개량 및 설계 시 안전사고를 최소화 하고 예방할 수 있는 디자인을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

F. L. 라이트의 유기적 건축에 나타난 일본문화의 영향에 관한 연구 (An Influence of Japanese Culture on F. L. Wright′s Organic Architecture)

  • F. L. Wright was, from his early days, influenced by Japanese Culture and endeavored his original concept of orgonic orchitecture. In his 1st Golden Age, he devoted to establish an architectural concept of Organism which was proved by the theories of New Science and also had been universal in ancient Orient. Later, in his 2nd Golden Age, he tried to embody his unique concept in prairie houses and office buildings. The organic structure and spatial unit that actually applied to these works, were good examples of realization of the simplicity and continuity which he found out in Japanese culture. This paper is to study on the influence of Japanese culture on a course of Wright's embodying his organic architecture, and to study on a way of its realization in his works. To be concrete, main contents of the study are as follows; 1) the relationship between Wright's integrate perception and the orientalism 2) the influence of the traditional Japanese painting like woodblock prints and the aesthetic theory of the traditional Japanese pictorial art on Wright's design principles 3) the influence of Wright's experiences in Japan on his design principles 4) the influence of Wright's analysis of the traditional Japanese dwelling on his design principles 5) the course of Wright's embodying his organic architecture concept, and the way of its realization in his works.

  • 본 논문에서는 장애인의 보행을 지원하는 Smart-Walk 시스템에서 하나의 시스템으로 여러 유형의 장애인을 지원할 수 있도록 하는 유니버설 디자인개념의 데이터베이스 구축방안을 제시한다. 또한, 운행로그를 분석하여 사용자의 사용현황과 이탈비율을 계산함으로써 시스템의 최적운영을 지원하는 방안을 제시한다. 다양한 사용자 유형과 그에 적합한 사용방법들을 데이터베이스에 저장하고 관리함으로써 간단하게 다양한 유형의 사용자들에게 지원할 수 있는 방법은 진정한 유니버설디자인 이념의 실현이라 할 수 있다. 사용자의 운행로그를 데이터웨어하우스 형태로 저장하고 온라인 분석 기법을 적용함으로써 시스템의 최적 운영에 유용한 정보를 실시간으로 추출해 낼 수 있게 된다.

  • The objective of this research is not only making the planning guides regarding a small-scale residential remodeling but also examining closely the social roles of the interior design for the poor and the underprivileged class by analyzing the residential remodeling cases. The scope of research includes 40 remodeling houses free of charge which are broadcasted in the TV program 'Love House'. Taking in consideration the characteristics of users like parentless or single-parent families and families with disabled persons, this study uses the spatial approach, user's convenience approach and psychological problem solving approach, in terms of the methodology. In result of the analysis of their interior design, first of all, it is essential solving the problem of limited house space by comparison with the family number. Second, the universal design concept for the family with disabled persons(72.5%), old persons or children is strengthened guaranteeing privacy in small and old interior space. Third, the interior design is focused in increasing communication among family members, because mental and physical obstacle would obstruct accessibility among them. This research shows the importance of the interior design which makes wide social roles contributing to create "welfare society".

영구임대아파트 거주 고령자의 단위세대 개선요구 조사 연구 - 수원시 우만 주공 3단지를 중심으로 (A Basic Study on Elderly Residents' Requirements for Unit Renovation of Permanent Rental Housing - focused on 'Suwon Wooman Jugong 3rd Block')

  • Purpose: At the moment, a lot of poor older people live in permanent rental housing in Korea. But many rental apartments are not suitable for elderly living because most of them have many problems related to the lack of accessibility and adaptability for older people with physical and mental disabilities. So it is necessary to upgrade the old permanent rental housing for convenience of elderly living. The purpose of this paper is to construct basic data for remodeling of worn out and small rental housing block in order to realize the concept of "Aging in Place". Methods: Questionnaires and interviews about elderly living have been conducted on 104 elderly who live in Suwon Wooman permanent rental apartment block which was constructed 21 years ago. From the collected data, dining pattern, inconvenient area, small area, satisfaction level on unit area and demand for unit expansion type have been analysed in order to find out the direction for remodeling of permanent rental apartment unit. Results: The problems of existing permanent rental apartment can be summarized into improper laundry space, small dining area, inconvenient bath and so on. According to the family size, the elderly resident has the different preference about the expansion type of his resident unit. Big families usually want to enlarge their living unit though they pay for additional monthly rental fee. Implications: Lifetime home concept adopting Universal Design has to be applied to the whole residential block especially to the social rental housing. And this concept had better be expanded to Lifetime neighbor design.

박물관에서의 유니버설 디자인을 위한 환경 평가요소 분석 : 시각장애인과 비장애인의 사용 평가를 중심으로 (Analysis of Environmental Evaluation Elements for Universal Design at the Museum: Focused on the Use Evaluation of Visually Handicapped and Non-Handicapped People)

  • 고령인구 및 장애인구가 증가함에 따라 평등하고 안전한 환경을 형성하기 위한 유니버설 디자인의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다. 특히 문화체험에 대한 욕구가 증대되어 국가적 차원에서 문화공간에 대한 투자와 구축이 활발하게 진행되고 있으나, 사회적 약자들은 공공시설에서 문화체험을 하기에는 제한적 요소가 많다. 이러한 요소를 분석하기 위해 공공문화공간인 박물관 구축 환경을 시각장애인과 비장애인의 측면에서 현황조사 및 사용 평가 분석을 시행하였다. 문헌연구를 통해 유니버설 디자인의 개념과 원리를 이해하고 기존의 평가요소를 분석하여 재분류하였다. 분석된 평가요소를 기준으로 국내 박물관을 평가한 결과 시각장애인의 박물관 관람을 위한 정보 및 환경, 서비스의 보완할 점을 파악하고 개선방향을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 사회적 약자를 배려하고 모두가 쾌적하게 활동할 수 있는 환경 구축을 위한 평가요소와 개선방향을 제안하고자 한다.

  • This study identifies visible/invisible factors and analyzes facilities, structure, and visible perceptive contents in the aspects of operation and efficiency with a focus on the interfaces between interior design of the subway and users. More specifically, it diagnoses the requirements and empirically presents improvements. In addition, this study aims to diagnose the interfaces between trains and users by reinterpreting and evaluating factors from the perspectives of users, and to elicit the universal interface and an objective form of conceptual, structural, and formative relations in regard to the conditions required to the design. As the interior design in the subway trains is for the public reflecting the value, consciousness, and behaviors of users, it should be approached through the application of the concept of universal design that considers the potential needs and psychological satisfaction of users. In arranging the indoor of the vehicles, the conditions for the facilities should be specified through the interdisciplinary approach from professional fields including ergonomics and psychology, the path of flow should be induced through the use of space and the analysis of passengers' behaviors, an integrated planning should be re-established, and continuous evaluations of basic guidelines, manuals, and requirements should be made.

NEW DESIGN CONCEPT FOR UNIVERSAL CCD CONTROLLER

  • Currently, the CCDs are widely used in astronomical observations either in direct imaging use or spectroscopic mode. However according to the recent technical advances, new large format CCDs are rapidly developed which have better performances with higher quantum efficiency and sensitivity. In many cases, some microprocessors have been adopted to deal with necessary digital logic for a CCD imaging system. This could often lack the flexibility of a system for a user for to upgrade with new devices, especially if it is a commercial product. A new design concept has been explored which could provide the opportunity to deal with any format of devices from any manufactures effectively for as tronomical purposes. Recently available PLD (Programmable Logic Devices)technology makes it possible to develop such digital circuit design, which can be integrated into a single component, instead of using micrprocessors. The design concept could dramatically increase the efficiency and flexibility of a CCD imaging system, particularly when new or large format devices are available and to upgrade the performance of a system. Some variable system control parameters can be selected by a user with a wider range of choice. The software can support such functional requirements very conveniently. This approach can be applied not only to astronomical purpose, but also to some related fields, such as remote sensing and industrial applications.
