Many studies have been conducted to reduce environmental pollution by ships and reduce fuel consumption. As part of this effort, research on power conversion systems through DC distribution systems that link renewable energy with conventional power grids has been pursued as well. The diode rectifiers currently used include many lower harmonics in the input current of the load and distort supply voltage to lower the power quality of the whole system. This distortion of voltage waveforms causes the malfunctions of generators, load devices and inverter pole switching elements, resulting in a large number of switching losses. In this paper, a controller is presented to improve DC output waveforms, the input Power Factor and the THD of an AFE type PWM rectifier used for PLL. DC output voltage waveforms have been improved, and the input Power Factor can now be matched to the unit power factor. In addition, the THD of the input power supply has been proven by simulation to comply with the requirements of IEEE Std514-2014.
because the output of solar cell is direct, it is necessary to install D/A converter system for A.C load, and in case of driving utility line system, it is possible to drive system relation when the system supplies sinusodal current ant voltage having unit power factor. As the characteristics of the soar cell output the is influenced by dailysunight charge, for more electric power it is essential to control the direction toward the san so that the driving point of solar cell can always operate near maximum output point. PWM modulation device among electric power converters must have stable modulation at anytime when it includes noise-factors such as noise-wave and noises on electric voltage wave, a synchronous signal system. In dealing with synchronous signal for control and control signal by microprocessor, it is necessary to compensate it because there is time difference between sample paint and carrier wave. On this papers, single phase PWM current type invertor controled the solar cell having typical voltage dropping character has optimun short current in short, reduces D.C reactance, composes controller for modulation and keeps lower harmonic and high power factor keeping maximum output of solar cell according daily sunlight charge variation.

In wireless sensor network which uses limited battery, power consumption is very important factor for the survivality of the system. By using low-power communication to reduce power consumption, error rate is increased in typical conditions. This paper analyzes power consumption of specific error control coding (ECC) implementations. With identical link quality, ECC provides coding gain which save the power for transmission at the cost of computing power. In sensor node, transmit power is higher than computing power of Micro Controller Unit (MCU). In this paper, Viterbi algerian is applied to the low-transmit-power sensor networks in terms of network power consumption. Practically, Viterbi algorithm presents 20% of reduction of re-transmission in compared with Auto Repeat Request (ARQ) system. Furthermore, it is observed that network power consumption is decreased by almost 18%.

In the four-step demand model, a gravity mode is used most commonly at the trip distribution stage. The purpose of this study was to develop a new friction factor that can express the accessibility property as a single friction factor to compensate for the variable limits of the gravity model parameters (travel time, travel cost). To derive a new friction factor, a new friction factor was derived using the space syntax that can quantify the characteristics of the urban space structure, deriving the link-unit integration degree and then using the travel time and travel distance relationship. Calibration of the derived friction factor resulted in a similar level to that of the existing friction factor. As a result of verifying the various indicators, the explanatory power was found to be excellent in the short - and long - distance range. Therefore, it is possible to derive and apply the new friction factor using the integration index, which can complement the accessibility beyond the limit of the existing shortest distance, and it is believed to be more advantageous in future utilization.

Weapon System effectiveness indices are a key factor to the cost-effectiveness analysis in the process of allocating national resources in an optimal fashion. First part of this paper reviews the need of weapon -effectiveness indices, historical development of methodologies on military strength evaluation with various models of indices, and the interrelation-ship between weapon effectiveness indices and war-game. Second part of this paper analyzes the concepts and usage of the already developed methodologies, i .e., index of power, weapon lethality index (W.L.I.), index of fire power potential (I.F.P), fire power potential (F. P. P), and weapon effectiveness indices/weighted unit value (W. E. I/W. U. V.). Finally, weaknesses and limits of these methodologies are compared and evaluated. Result of this research shows that the W. L. I, I. F. P, and F. P. P seem to possess many non-scientific or ambiguous facets, but the W. E. I/W. U. V method produces more detailed, inclusive, and reasonable indices. The paper concludes with the emphasis on the importance of the provision of the theoretical bases to develop effectiveness indices which can be used to evaluate Korean weapon systems, and the early establishment of a specialized research group to manage and develop methodologies on the weapon effectiveness indices.

Design performance of hybrid power generation systems, comprised of a gas turbine and an atmospheric pressure molten carbonate fuel cell, has been analyzed. Two different configurations were analyzed and performances were compared. A reference calculation was performed for the design condition of a system under development and simulated results agreed well with the published data. Performances were analyzed in terms of main design parameters including turbine inlet temperature, operating temperature of the fuel cell and pressure ratio. Also examined were the effects of fuel utilization factor and heat exchanger effectiveness. It was found that the relationship between the turbine inlet temperature and the fuel cell temperature should be critically examined to evaluate achievable design performance. Considering current state of the art technologies, a system with the combustor located before the turbine could achieve higher efficiency and specific power than the other system with the combustor located after the turbine.

A nuclear power plant is a large complex system with tens of thousands of components. To ensure plant safety, the early and accurate diagnosis of abnormal situations is an important factor. To prevent misdiagnosis, operating procedures provide the anticipated symptoms of abnormal situations. While the more severe emergency situations total less than ten cases and can be diagnosed by dozens of key plant parameters, abnormal situations on the other hand include hundreds of cases and a multitude of parameters that should be considered for diagnosis. The tasks required of operators to select the appropriate operating procedure by monitoring large amounts of information within a limited amount of time can burden operators. This paper aims to develop a system that can, in a short time and with high accuracy, select the appropriate operating procedure and sub-procedure in an abnormal situation. Correspondingly, the proposed model has two levels of prediction to determine the procedure level and the detailed cause of an event. Simulations were conducted to evaluate the developed model, with results demonstrating high levels of performance. The model is expected to reduce the workload of operators in abnormal situations by providing the appropriate procedure to ultimately improve plant safety.
In order to radiate X-ray, the low ripple stabilized high voltage DC over the range of 40KV to 150KV is directly inflicted to X-ray tube. The energy characteristics of the radiated X-ray depend on the pulsating waveforms of the DC voltage supplied X-ray tube. In general, the low ripple voltage waveforms with fast rising times are required to increase with the dosage per unit time lest the exposure time should be longer in orde that the motion artifacts of an object may be eliminated in actual. The conventional types of X-ray generators were bulky in physical size and heavy in weight, and the control accuracies of the output voltages were not always satisfactory. The high frequency switching inverter and converter technology on power conversion and control systems have been greatly closed up introducing new power semiconductor devices. To decreasing the volume and the weight of high voltage transformer, and to stabilize ripple, a high frequency PWM inverter is connected between DC source and high voltage transformer. This paper describes the output characteristics according to stabilize ripple of X-ray tube voltage and compared the reproducibility, direcibility and doesage.

In this paper, a new algorithm of optimal Volt/Var Control is proposed using Volt/Var control for the Distribution Automation System (DAS) with Distributed Generation (DG) based on the modeling of the distributed load and the distributed current. In the proposed, algorithm based on the modeling of the distributed load and the distributed current are estimated from constants of four terminals using the measurement of the current and power factor from a Feeder Remote Terminal Unit (FRTU) and DG data from RTU for DG. For the optimal Volt/Var Control, the gradient method is applied to find optimal solution for tap, capacity and power control of OLTC (On-Load Tap Changers), SVR (Step Voltage Regulator), PC (Power Condenser) and DG (Distributed Generation). In the case studies, the estimation and control of the voltages have been testified in a radial distribution system with DG using matlab program.
The change in the design-basis refueling strategy caused by the unexpected nuclear fuel failures may result in discharging intact fuel assemblies which were irradiated in the positions symmetric to the failed ones in addition to the failed ones in order to maintain the symmetric power shape in the reactor core. In this work an attempt is made to reuse the intact fuel assemblies which were discharged before reaching the design turnup in the above-described situation so as to improve the fuel utilization. The TDCORE code is used to estimate the flux and power distribution, and the RELOAD-II code for searching the optimal loading pattern with the minimum assembly radial power peaking factor. For the case of the Ko-ri unit 1, its third cycle turnup could be extended to 11,648 MWD/MTU by reusing the four low-burned fuel assemblies removed at the end of the first cycle, and then the loading pattern is searched to the equilibrium cycle.
