PC카메라와 일반광학현미경을 이용한 빵효모 배양액의 효모세포 자동계수 (Automatic Counting of Yeast Cells in Baker's Yeast Culture Using PC Camera and Conventional Light Microscope)

  • Automatic counting of yeast cells in baker's yeast culture was tried using a conventional light microscope equipped with a pc camera. Relatively good binary image was obtained by using white LED as microscope light source, but uneven brightness distribution in original image hindered counting accuracy. A block binarization method using local thresholds proportional to local brightnesses was used to get improved binary images. The brightnesses of the blocks were expressed as the value component in HSV color model. Good quality binary images were obtained by binarization on $8{\times}6$ blocks of original images and connected-component labelling of the binarized images produced reliable counting results in the concentration range $1.4{\times}10^5/mL{\sim}1.4{\times}10^7\;cells/mL$.

  • With the advent of mobile phone, Digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) service is to be realized for multimedia data communication. For an acoustic part, a smaller and lighter microspeaker is also soon to be realized as an MP3 song player and a speakerphone. Sound quality in the microspeaker is becoming more important in mobile phones. It is evaluated by total harmonic distortion (THD). THD is the proportion of higher order frequencies output response to sinusoidal input signal. It is affected by uneven magnetic distribution and nonlinear response of diaphragm. In this paper, harmonic distortion is analyzed by considering magnetic and mechanical coupling effects. Simulated results of THD are compared with experimental data. Results show that THD in lower frequency range is higher due to high displace on voice coil and high mechanical response of high order frequency.

  • This paper is about electromagnetic vibration source in outer rotor type of BLDC motors. Experiments are carried out with three pole-slot combinations which are 6 slots, 12 slots, and 24 slots with 4 poles rotor. According to results, vibration sources separate into electromagnetic and mechanical factors. Using the finite element method (FEM), It is analyed that vibration characteristics of electromagnetic source in each type. This paper shows electromagnetic sensitivity to vibration, and introduces necessary point in lower vibration motors. Also rotor balance is important to prevent uneven distribution of magnetic flux between rotor and stator.

  • 이족보행로봇을 실생활에 적용하기 위해서는 비평탄지형에서의 안정적인 자율보행 및 자세 안정화는 반드시 필요한 기능이다. 본 논문에서는 계단, 경사지형, 다양한 형태의 장애물에 대처가능한 이족보행로봇의 기구설계 및 원격제어 가능한 제어시스템 구현에 대하여 설명하고, 이러한 비평탄지형에서 발에 부착된 적외선센서 및 FSR센서, 머리에 장착될 카메라를 사용한 안정된 자율보행 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 발바닥에 장착된 FSR센서를 사용하여 외부에서 들어오는 외력에 대처하는 자세안정화 알고리즘도 제안하였다. 제안한 자율보행 및 자세안정화 알고리즘들은 이족보행로봇을 제작하여 다양한 환경에서 실험으로 검증하였다.

  • This paper provides the results of analysis of lightening arrester failed in the field. XRD was used for qualitative analysis and SEM for microstructure analysis of zinc oxide (ZnO) block. The failure of lightening arrester might occur due to the following reasons: the uneven size of zinc oxide grains and cement layers. the re-crystallization of zinc oxide grains resulting from electrical stress around impurities, and the presence of too large pores($\simeq$ 50 ${\mu}m$).

  • TiC-Ni and TiC-Ni-Mo cermet powders were produced by Self-propagating High temperature Synthesis (SHS) process. The cooling rate of synthesized powders were controlled by using the V-shaped copper jig and the carbide size decreased with increasing the cooling rate I. e decreasing the width of copper jig Round shape carbide particles were produced after SHS reaction in TiC-Ni as well as TiC-Ni-Mo powders. Local segregation of Mo rich phases was observed in SHS powder of TiC-Ni-Mo and the uneven dis-triobution of Mo promoted the faster growth rate of carbide particles during sintering compared to the same composition specimen with commercial TiC powder. Howogeneous microstructure of TiC-Ni-Mo cermet was obtained when the elemental Mo powder was mixed with the SHS powder of TiC-Ni.

  • If a biped humanoid robot walks stably on even and uneven planes like a human being, it should have a control system capable of compensating for moments generated by motions of its lower-limbs, upper-limbs and head. In this paper, a compensatory motion control method is described for the stability of biped humanoid robots. This control method calculates the combined motion of the trunk and the waist that cancels the generated moments by using an iteration algorithm. 염소화 반응조건이 SBR의 표면마찰 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Chlorination on the Friction Properties of SBR)

  • This study was concerned with the influence of reaction conditions on the surface friction properties of Syrene-Butadiene Rubber(SBR) sheet when it was chlorinated by chemical treatment method using the sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid. The results of this study were as follows. SEM photographs of chlorinated SBR surface showed uneven etching caused by the chlorination. In the FTIR spectra, the intensity of C=C peak of SBR was decreased with increasing the concentration of sodium hypochlorite. Otherwise there was no trace of C=C peak in spectrum of SBR treated with 5 wt% NaOCl with pH 0.1 for 90 seconds. EDX spectra showed that relative content of chlorine of SBR was increased with increasing the amount of sodium hypochlorite, and also affected with pH condition of acid solution. Friction angle and friction coefficient of SBR were influenced with concentration of sodium hypochlorite, but were not with pH condition of acid solution.

  • Acoustic pressure field around the centrifugal fan is predicted by a aero-acoustic splitting method. Unsteady flow field is obtained by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using commercial code, while the acoustic waves generated inside the centrifugal fan and shroud are predicted by solving the far field acoustics analysis. Computational results show that the acoustic waves of BPF tone are generated by interactions of the blades with the shroud. Acoustic results is validated by experimental results This paper describes the influence of geometric parameters on the noise generation from the section of blades and shroud. One of the effective ways to reduce BPF noise is optimization method using Genetic Algorithm, which effectively minimize eccentricity, is suggested. New improving design was developed by optimization method.

  • In general, the function of intake structure, whether it be a open channel, a fully wetted tunnel, a sump or a tank, is to supply an evenly distributed flow to a pump station. An even distribution of flow, characterized by strong local flow, can result in formation of surface or submerged vortices, and with certain low values of submergence, may introduce air into pump, causing a reduction of capacity and efficiency, an increase in vibration and additional noise. Uneven flow distribution can also increase or decrease the power consumption with a change in total developed head. To avoid these sump problems pump station designers are considered intake structure dimensions, such as approaching upstream, baffle size, sump width, width of pump cell and so on. From this background, flow characteristics of intake within sump are Investigated numerically to obtain the optimal sump design data. The sump model is designed in accordance with HI code.
