  • The use of NAND flash memory has increased rapidly due to the development of mobile fields. However, NAND flash memory has a limited lifespan, so studies are underway to predict its lifespan. Workload is one of the factors that significantly affect the life of NAND flash memory, and workload analysis studies in mobile environments are insufficient. In this paper, we analyze the distribution of workload in the mobile environment by collecting traces generated by using Android-based smartphones. The collected traces can be divided into three groups of hotness. Also they are distributed in the form of heavy tails. We fit this to the Pareto, Lognormal, and Weibull distributions, and Traces are closest to the Pareto distribution.

  • In assessing the long term post closure radiological safety assessment of a potential HLW repository in Korea, three categories of uncertainties exist. The first one is the scenario uncertainty where series of different natural events are translated into written statements. The second one is the modeling uncertatinty where different mathematical models are applied for an identical scenario. The last one is the data uncertainty which can be expressed in terms of probabilistic density functions. In this analysis, three different scenarios are seleceted; a small well scenario, a radiolysis scenario, and a naturally discharged scenario. The MASCOT-K and the AMBER, probabilistic safety assessment codes based on connection of sub-modules and a compartment theory respectively, are applied to assess annual individual doses for a generic biosphere. Results illustrate that for a given scenario, predictions from two different codes fairly match well each other But the discrepancies for the different scenarios are significant. However, total doses are still well below the guideline of 2 mRem/yr. Detailed analyses with model and data uncertainties are underway to further assure the safety of a Korean reference dispsoal concept.

  • China's Belt and Road Initiative infrastructure connectivity and other projects are presented in much of the discourse as a grand strategy to trap developing nations in debt, to exert asymmetric power and construct a new world economic order. The asymmetric relationship between China and Myanmar might therefore be expected to generate a range of political risks for stakeholders. Myanmar itself presents a "perfect storm" of problems, with dysfunctional governance, civil conflict, under-development and growing economic dependence on China. The Kyaukphyu port project and associated Special Economic Zone in Myanmar's troubled Rakhine state is investigated as a case study of risks on the Belt and Road. While worst case fears China might seize military control of the port appear unlikely, at least in current conditions, empirical observation indicates the complexity on the ground generates an array of other risks - as well as opportunities, should conditions allow. Further, despite challenges and constrained capacity, Myanmar governments have demonstrated agency, including by re-negotiating control and costs of the Kyaukphyu project. The case underlines that conditions are more complicated than simply China's asymmetric power. A sceptical approach is taken to normative discourses in order to build inductive understanding of how stakeholders and local experts perceive dynamics underway. A political risk approach is deployed to develop a framework to identify, analyse and assess risks for actors in relation to the Kyaukphyu project. The research findings are presented on an interim basis, given current constraints on field interviews due to the current crisis.

  • In this paper, we studied a system that can efficiently build security management for single-person households using Arduino, ESP32-CAM and PIR sensors, and proposed an Android app with an internet connection. The ESP32-CAM is an Arduino compatible board that supports both Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cameras using an ESP32-based processor. The PCB on-board antenna may be used independently, and the sensitivity may be expanded by separately connecting the external antenna. This system has implemented an Arduino-based Unauthorized intrusion system that can significantly help prevent crimes in single-person households using the combination of PIR sensors, Arduino devices, and smartphones. unauthorized intrusion system, showing the connection between Arduino Uno and ESP32-CAM and with smartphone applications. Recently, if daily quarantine is underway around us and it is necessary to verify the identity of visitors, it is expected that it will help maintain a safety net if this system is applied for the purpose of facial recognition and restricting some access. This technology is widely used to verify that the characters in the two images entered into the system are the same or to determine who the characters in the images are most similar to among those previously stored in the internal database. There is an advantage that it may be implemented in a low-power, low-cost environment through image recognition, comparison, feature point extraction, and comparison.

  • The government is pushing hard to realize the electronic and knowledge government. In connection with the efforts most public institutions have already started adopting the electronic document management system(EDMS), and have entered in a phase of modification of, and supplement to the system for the flow of the electronic documents among the agencies to be made possible by the month of November this year. The present situation is that the modification and supplement of EDMS are underway in the field that is unrelated to the records and archival management, what has been foreseen in the academic world of archival science. Under this circumstances the article places emphasis on the importance of the positive participation of the archivists in the development of the EDMS. To be concrete it reveals how the archival achievements can be practically applicable to the EDMS. What is particularly conspicuous in the article is the detailed description of how usefully control of record production, classification and description, evaluation and selection that are put into practice in the archival management law can be embodied in the development of the EDMS. Finally the article put emphasis on the positive exchanges and integration to bring the archival management science and computer science, archival management law and electronic government law, the archival management agencies and the agencies in charge of the electronic government together into whole to find a way for the methodical achievements of scientific archival management to be positively applicable to the electronic document management system(EDMS).

  • Research and development are underway to connect the network to all things in the world and to manage the objects through the Internet. The Internet of Things is expected to play an important role in building ecosystem of next generation mobile communication service. The most significant communication technology is LPWAN. In this paper, we analyze the performance according to each data transmission rate to reduce and manage resource waste by using many LPWAN nodes more efficiently in accordance with the demands of the times. The LPWAN communication technology used in this paper was designed based on LoRaWAN, a long-distance low-power wireless platform developed by Semtech, and analyzed by implementing a virtual IoT base using Network Simulator-3.

  • In the past gut microbiome has been the main focus of microbiome research. Studies about the microbiome inside oral cavities and other organs are underway. Studies about the relationship between noninfectious diseases and periodontal diseases, and the negative effects of harmful oral microbes on systemic health have been published in the recent past. A lot of attention is being paid towards fostering a healthy oral microbial ecosystem. This study aimed to understand the roles and effects of the microbiome inside the human body can potentially help cure various diseases including inflammatory bowel diseases with no known cure such as Crohn's disease, atopic dermatitis, obesity, cancer, diabetes, brain diseases and oral diseases. The present study examined technological trends in the correlation between the human microbiome and diseases in the human body, interactions between the human body's immunity, the metabolic system, and the microbiome, and research trends in other countries. While it has been proven that human microbiome is closely correlated with human diseases, most studies are still in the early stage of trying to compare the composition of microbiomes between health and patient groups. Since the oral environment is a dynamic environment that changes due to not only food intake but also other external factors such as lifestyle, hygiene, and drug intake, it is necessary to continue in-depth research on the microbiome composition characteristics to understand the complex functions of oral microorganisms. Analyzing the oral microbiome using computational technology may aid in disease diagnosis and prevention.

  • Current brake system changes the kinetic energy into heat energy by friction-type of brake that the braking action is diverging into the air. The system has a device called a retarder that generates braking force. High-tech research on the high-speed response characteristics of retarders utilizing part of the braking energy of the retarder to save electrical energy consumption is already underway in advanced countries. In this paper, we propose DC-DC converter which converts 3-phase voltage generated from retarder to 24V DC voltage for battery charging and verify its validity through experiments.

  • Image processing is presently used in various areas such as smart phone, smart TV, and portable PC. Likewise, edge detection plays an important role in most of the applications. As such, studies for the detection of edge are continually underway. Roberts, Laplacian and LoG(lapacian of Gaussian) are the representative edge detection methods, but these methods do not offer optimal edge detection characteristic in case of the image that is damaged by Salt & Pepper noises. As such, this study presented algorithm with superior edge detection characteristic by utilizing the elements of local mask in Salt & Pepper noise environment.
