  • Currently, various studies using chemotherapy, such as surgical treatment, radiation or optical therapy, and chemotherapy, are underway. In addition, expensive chemotherapeutic drugs and large-scale equipment have been developed to improve the accuracy and therapeutic effect. However many side effects caused by misuse of the kind of light source, radiation, and cancer treatment have been observed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel chemotherapeutic method by developing a customized cancer cell proliferation inhibition module based on a microcontroller that is relatively inexpensive, easy to operate, and able to operate in various wavelength light sources.

  • Recently, in the research on online environment such as e-commerce, and internet banking, the conceptual discussion about trust and risk in an effort to explain a user's behavior is briskly underway. Most of the research on trust and risk are setting up causal relationship without clearly establishing the relationship between trust and risk. Accordingly this study conducted a meta-analysis in order to consider the relationship between trust and risk and to take a look at the difference in causal relationship. This study includes a total of 18 research papers which are setting up the causal relationship between trust and risk in online environment among the research papers published in domestic academic journals since 2000. Result of the meta-analysis, showed that the effect size was -0.367 in the path from trust to risk; -0.131 in the path from risk to trust; -0.276 in the bidirectional path between trust and risk. In addition, this study was able to confirm through literature review that there appeared a high effect of path in case where trust and risk were measured by an uni-dimensional concept than by a multi-dimensional concept.

  • Purpose: In korea, Aging in Place is underway as an alternative to elderly housing for the aging population. Currently, research is being actively conducted mainly for the baby boomer generation and older generation. There is not much research on various ages that will be needed continuously in elderly housing and aging in place in the future. Therefore, this study suggests aging in place of urban elderly housing through analysis of urban preference of all ages. Method: An analysis of prior studies related to elderly housing, Field interpretation about Aging in Place, An analysis of the city preference through the survey of the elderly, Existing Literature Survey, Housing Survey, Future Population Projection, Survey of the elderly and confirmed the necessity of the Aging in Place of urban elderly housing. Result: As there are many generations living in the city and many people prefer it, studies on urban elderly housing should be actively conducted and should be studied as Aging in Place that can be used for all ages. In addition, it is necessary to study the advantages and disadvantages of using Aging in Place in the city through domestic or overseas case analysis.

  • JAEA started the LSTF experiments in 1985 for the fourth stage of the ROSA Program (ROSA-IV) for the LWR thermal-hydraulic safety research to identify and investigate the thermal-hydraulic phenomena and to confirm the effectiveness of ECCS during small-break LOCAs and operational transients. The LSTF experiments are underway for the ROSA-V Program and the OECD/NEA ROSA Project that intends to resolve issues in thermal-hydraulic analyses relevant to LWR safety. Six types of the LSTF experiments have been done for both the system integral and separate-effect experiments among international members from 14 countries. Results of four experiments for the ROSA Project are briefly presented with analysis by a best-estimate (BE) code and a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code to illustrate the capability of the LSTF and codes to simulate the thermal-hydraulic phenomena that may appear during SBLOCAs and transients. The thermal-hydraulic phenomena dealt with are coolant mixing and temperature stratification, water hammer up to high system pressure, natural circulation under high core power condition, and non-condensable gas effect during asymmetric SG depressurization as an AM action.

  • Massive migration is underway in rapidly urbanizing Guangzhou, the south gate of P. R. China. Over half the migrants choose to rent in "villages-in-the-city" in the downtown area because of the low-cost and prime location. The overpopulation and resulting poor environment and high crime-rate turn villages-in-the-city into de facto ghettos. As a result, these ghettos are undergoing a manner of demolition-development, leaving migrants' housing needs unmet. A private-sector initiative-the Tulou Commune-intends to address this considerable market potential. Targeting low-income groups, the Tulou Commune creates a socio-spatially exclusionary enclave. This paper analyzes the Tulou Commune and the implications if more low-income migrants shifting from village-in-the-city (excluded ghetto) to Tulou Commune (exclusionary enclave). This study argues that the intervention of the private sector causes the demographic, social, and spatial similarities and differences of the two living arrangements. Socioeconomic and institutional factors also affect the initiative. This study also provides more empirical evidence in the field of low-cost housing and socio-spatial development in transitional Chinese cities. As the first project of its kind, the analysis of the case can suggest how to improve strategies for accommodating migrants in the future.

  • Successful anticancer strategies require a differential response between tumor and normal tissue (i.e., a therapeutic ratio). In fact, improving the effectiveness of a cancer therapeutic is of no clinical value in the absence of a significant increase in the differential response between tumor and normal tissue. Although radiation dose escalation with the use of intensity modulated radiation therapy has permitted the maximum tolerable dose for most locally advanced cancers, improvements in tumor control without damaging normal adjacent tissues are needed. As a means of increasing the therapeutic ratio, several new approaches are under development. Drugs targeting signal transduction pathways in cancer progression and more recently, immunotherapeutics targeting specific immune cell subsets have entered the clinic with promising early results. Radiobiological research is underway to address pressing questions as to the dose per fraction, irradiated tumor volume and time sequence of the drug administration. To exploit these exciting novel strategies, a better understanding is needed of the cellular and molecular pathways responsible for both cancer and normal tissue and organ response, including the role of radiation-induced accelerated senescence. This review will highlight the current understanding of promising biologically targeted therapies to enhance the radiation therapeutic ratio.

  • As interest in big data has increased recently, NoSQL, a solution for storing and processing big data, is getting attention. NoSQL supports high speed, high availability, and high scalability, but is limited in areas where data integrity is important because it does not support multiple row transactions. To overcome these drawbacks, many studies are underway to support multiple row transactions in NoSQL. However, existing studies have a disadvantage that the number of transactions that can be processed per unit of time is low and performance is degraded. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement a multi-row transaction system for data integrity in big data environment based on HBase, a column-based NoSQL which is widely used recently. The multi-row transaction system efficiently performs multi-row transactions by adding columns to manage transaction information for every user table. In addition, it controls the execution, collision, and recovery of multiple row transactions through the transaction manager, and it communicates with HBase through the communication manager so that it can exchange information necessary for multiple row transactions. Finally, we performed a comparative performance evaluation with HAcid and Haeinsa, and verified the superiority of the multirow transaction system developed in this paper.

  • According to the diversification of types of concrete structures, the quality of the concrete which is demanded also, is becoming high performance essentially. The high performance of the concrete leads using of admixtures, generally, in order to produce high strength, concrete has been used to silica fume. Silica fume is excellent mechanical properties, but unlikely to be economic. So, recently as a replacement for silica fume, metakaolin is a lot of research underway. In this study, it is used the metakaolin substitute for silica fume. For in order to prevent loss of liquidity when occurs using the admixtures, we used the silica dioxide. Therefore, concrete with the admixtures and silicon dioxide were examined the mechanical properties.
