  • Mt. Umyeon is a low-altitude mountain near a residential area, and the actual forest area is not large due to the fact that development for use as a living green space is being completed and in progress across the mountain, so the buffering action for landslides was weak. The unit was located at the top of Mt. Umyeon, and there were reports of contents related to the military unit in some accident areas. Some experts suggested that the landslide that started on the cut side of the unit could be one of the causes of the landslide at Mt. Umyeon. It is presumed that there was a sudden collapse of trees that had fallen due to erosion inside the valley. In the case of the Umyeon landslide, localized torrential rain is the biggest cause, but the fact that it suffered a lot of damage is the result of no preemptive measures. In particular, it can be said that the damage was caused by the concentration of residential and commercial facilities due to the unplanned urban expansion without prior review of the feng shui geography of settlement areas. The important lesson we have learned is that we should recognize nature as living things and live in harmony and coexistence between humans and nature through understanding and cooperation. Adapting to changes in the environment can survive, but if it doesn't, it will be slaughtered. As such, geography influences changes in feng shui. Changes in feng shui have a profound effect on not only humans but also the natural ecosystem.

  • Most of the changes that make paradigm shift have been involved international level problems related to environment, resource and structure problems in these days. Resolving those common issues the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization(UN FAO) has played most important role in fisheries with publishing the series of the technical guidelines for responsible fisheries papers. The guidelines for responsible fisheries have introduced for applying the concept of sustainable development with considering overall changes in fisheries domains. And also have objectives that establishing the discipline of fisheries worlds. Although these papers are remarkable, there is still few research or education contents of them in Korea. Fisheries business administration is a kind of social science that influenced by environmental, social changes so called paradigm shift. So one of the most important thing that has the education of sustainable development is accommodation or adaptation of them with grasping the phenomenon continuously. The aims of this study are exploring the FAO's the technical guidelines for responsible fisheries documents and contents of college's fisheries business administration and finding out the overall systematic topics and themes of fisheries business administration education. The result of this study shows that the contents of fisheries business administration did not including the concept of responsible fisheries even were out of date in using statistical data. And there is some missing issues that including fisheries policy, resource management, and related law should be enhanced. This study suggests the framework of fisheries business administration with comparing analysis on FAO's document and college's course of study in Korea. The proposed framework of major topics of fisheries business administration that still needed to be improved should be a milestone of understanding and debating the core factors of fisheries business administration education and research.

  • Fashion industry is faced with issues of raising the competitiveness of established designers recently. As well as the change of business system, the specialization of professionals in design team increases the needs of in-service training of fashion designers. But, the education programs of enterprise are generally focused on adaptability to the organization and harmony among men as an introduction level. Furthermore, there are few professional institutions that give an education to the working-level designers. Thus, this study aimed at development of specialized in-service training program that could educate established designers for more integrated thought to cope with rapid changes in the fashion field. Firstly, the theoretical study on the in-service training and changes of fashion environment had been studied through literature review. Then, the current state of in-service training of fashion enterprises and the courses for established designers in fashion institutions were analysed. Finally, a comprehensive framework of in-service training program for fashion designers has been established as a result of this study. The program was designed in accordance with the previous research which reached 4 different educational needs for in-service training: brand planning and management, understanding production, understanding practical fabrics & colors, computer program. • Business process engineering (BPE) is a top-down management approach for increasing efficiency and productivity through radical and fundamental changes to the business processes of the organization. BPE requires firms to initially develop a model of the existing business processes of the firm to distinguish functional tasks from processes used for coordinating inputs, activities and outputs. The model is used for understanding the business processes in the organization and to simulate the effect of changes to the processes. The model can also be used to justify business processes, which involves assessing whether the business process provides value to the customer in its current configuration. Justification requires a careful examination of the key business processes used by the firm to identify systemic shortcomings in the process and to create a new business process to produce greater efficiency. BPE also considers automating as many business processes as possible to increase operational efficiency and the integration of business process tasks. The construction industry has been slow to adopt BPE because of its project approach in which a major firm contracts with various functional service providers and regards each project as unique. The industry focuses on functional task efficiency rather than business process efficiency. There is no formal methodology or criteria for determining whether a business process is effective for a construction firm in its current configuration. The use of performance measures such as costs, task duration times or other metrics can be useful in evaluating the effectiveness of an existing business process and for modeling the possible outcome of a fundamental and radical change to the process.

  • An understanding of importance of port has increased according to the in and out environment changes surrounding port. And the jurisdiction of physical distribution including port logistics integrated to Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. It is a good time for review the related port law once more. Present related port law has no problems itself. But because there are many laws about port, so overlap is shown in many aspects. According to this viewpoint, this study has focused to reduce the overlap in the contents of the laws and propose the improvement methods. So as to achieve this goal, I divided study fields into three aspects. The first is the subject of port management and second is the object of port management, the third is contents of port management. And also improvement plan provided in three aspects. Improvement plan is as follows. Firstly, the diversity of management subject is reduced considerably due to the integration of government organization but the problem which what laws among the various laws would adopt to same object is still remained. So it is necessary to make into one or two laws. Secondly, in the case of object of port management, it is essential to cover the port, port facilities and port hinterland with one comprehensive law. Therefore it is important to adjust the related clauses in various laws. Thirdly, in connection with the contents of port management, port development plan or other related port business and etc. described in various laws have to cordinated. At the same time, it is desirable that the similar terminology used in various laws would be unified.

  • This study started with the need for transition to competency-based education as well as the witness of fast changes in fashion industry's job environment. The goals of this study were (1) to explore fashion designers' competencies that are necessary for a successful careers in global fashion industry, and (2) to establish fashion designer competency model. In-depth individual interviews were conducted with 15 participants who have charged for design department and moreover have shown high performance in national, licence or designer brands in Korea fashion industry. Grounded theory was adopted to analyze data. As a result of analysis, the 4 core competencies emerged: problem-solving, research, inter-personal, and self-development. Each core competency has sub-competencies. Creativity, commerciality, control, decision making were sub-competencies for the problem-solving competency. Information management, innovation understanding & application, trend analysis & forecasting were sub-competencies for the research competency. Consumer, inside company, and outside company relationships were sub-competencies for the inter-personal competency. Self-awareness, self-management, expertise were sub-competencies for the self-development competency. In order to acquire these competencies, knowledge (academic, practical, multi-discipline), skills (sense, analysis, synthesis, communication), and attitude (interest, enjoyment, perseverance, personality) were essential. Based on these findings, implications for university fashion design education and further research areas were suggested.

  • As technology advanced dramatically in the late 20th century, a new era of science arrived. The emerging era of scientific discovery, variously described as e-Science, cyberscience, and the fourth paradigm, uses technologies required for computation, data curation, analysis, and visualization. The emergence of the fourth research paradigm will have such a huge impact that it will shake the foundations of science, and will also have a huge impact on the role of data-information infrastructure. In the digital age, the roles of data-information professionals are becoming more diverse. As eScience emerges as a sustainable and growing part of research, data-information professionals and centeres are exploring new roles to address the issues that arise from new forms of research. The functions that data-information professionals and centeres can fundamentally provide in the e-Science area are data curation, preservation, access, and metadata. Basically, it involves discovering and using available technical infrastructure and tools, finding relevant data, establishing a data management plan, and developing tools to support research. A further advanced service is archiving and curating relevant data for long-term preservation and integration of datasets and providing curating and data management services as part of a data management plan. Adaptation and change to the new information environment of the 21st century require strong and future-responsive leadership. There is a strong need to effectively respond to future challenges by exploring the role and function of data-information professionals in the future environment. Understanding what types of data-information professionals and skills will be needed in the future is essential to developing the talent that will lead the transformation. The new values and roles of data-information professionals and centers for 21st century researchers in STEAM are discussed.

  • There is general agreement that the Korean health care delivery system has two basic structural problems. One is the limited capacity and role of public hospitals, and the other is the absence of functional differentiation and referral arrangement between the clinics and hospitals of various technological sophistication levels. This study is intended to make an empirical observation of the system's growth process from the viewpoint of the population ecology model of organizations so as to understand the background of these problems and to find out ways of approaching them. As predicted from the population ecology model of organizations, all the types of medical care facilities have expanded in response to the environmental changes for the past three decades or so, and the differences in the extent and pattern of expansion among the types are related to what have taken place in the environment. These findings suggest that the efforts for reforming the health care delivery system should be directed not only to medical care institutions but also to the environmental context under which they function. It is believed that the usefulness of the population ecology perspective on organizations for studying the health care delivery system has been demonstrated. Thus further studies along this line based upon more strict design would improve systematic understanding of the system that is needed for developing policy approaches needed to increase its effectiveness.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this survey was to investigate clinical nurses' understanding of delirium and their educational need of delirious patient care. Method: A survey questionnaire regarding nurses' general perception and understanding of delirium, experience with delirious patients and educational need was developed and conducted with 179 clinical nurses in a university hospital in Seoul. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Nurses thought that delirium was one of the most important nursing problems and they considered it to be more treatable than to be preventable. However, the majority of nurses were ilot confident in caring for delirious patients. Nurses reported that delirium happened most often after surgery, and that possible contributing factors could be changes in physical environment and anxiety/stress, as well as medication and long-term isolation. Thirteen nursing interventions were identified but half of the nurses utilized only one or two of the thirteen. The most frequently used intervention was reorienting the patient followed by medication and emotional support, presenting family, and close observation. 99.5% of nurses addressed the importance of professional education on delirium care, especially in the area of intervention and management. Conclusion: The results support the strong need for development of a multi-component educational program on delirium care.
