  • Assignable causes producing temporary deviation from the underlying system can influence on process adjustment and process monitoring in dynamic feedback control system. In this paper, the influence of assignable causes on EWMA forecasts and compensatory variables are derived for a dynamic feedback control system. An example is presented to confirm the impact numerically through the analysis of a data.

  • We consider the asymptotic results of the variance ratio statistic when the underlying processes have moving average(MA) unit roots. This degenerate situation of zero spectral density near the origin cause the limit of the variance ratio to become zero. Its asymptotic behaviors are different from non-degenerating case, where the convergence rate of the variance ratio statistic is formally derived.

  • In Korea, liver cancer is the sixth most prevalent malignancy and the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality. The peak incidence of liver cancer deaths occurs between the ages of 40 and 59. (e.g. Yoon et al. 2021) The patient is a 69-year-old female with bronchiectasis as an underlying condition. She underwent left lower lobe resection for the disease, and in 2009 she was diagnosed with liver cancer and experienced a recurrence after a full recovery. In the case of such patients, the most effective OCNT prescription is recommended.

  • Headache is one of the most common neurological disorders in children and adults and can cause significant distress and disability in children and their families. The spectrum of pediatric headaches is broad, and the underlying etiology is variable. The symptoms and phenotypes of headaches in children may differ slightly from those in adults. It is important to have a good understanding of headaches in children and to distinguish between primary and secondary headaches through appropriate history assessment and neurological examination. Accurate diagnosis and appropriate drug selection are helpful for effective treatment. This article reviews headaches in children and adolescents, focusing on approaches for diagnosis and management.

  • DNA methylation is a relatively stable epigenetic modification that can regulate and stabilize gene expression patterns and hence establish cell identity. Because metabolic intermediates are key factors of DNA methylation and demethylation, perturbations in metabolic homeostasis can trigger alterations in cell-specific patterns of DNA methylation and contribute to disease development, including type 2 diabetes (T2D). During the past decade, genome-wide DNA methylation studies of T2D have expanded our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying T2D. This review summarizes case-control studies of the DNA methylome of T2D and discusses DNA methylation as both a cause and consequence of T2D. Therefore, DNA methylation has potential as a promising T2D biomarker that can be applied to the development of therapeutic strategies for T2D.

  • Clinical analysis were performed on 68 cases of subcutaneous emphysema, those were visited at the emergency center of Chosun university hospital during the period form 1992 to 1994. The following result was obtained. 1 The incidence of subcutaneous emphysema was 0.16%, and male was dominant [M:F=6.9:1 .2 The age distribution of subcutaneous emphysema was from 4 to 77 years old and mean age was 49.6$\pm$17.8 years[$\pm$SD 3 The most presenting symptoms were chest pain[49% , and the proceeding cause was traffic accident[38% . 3 The most associated disease was a ipsilateral pneumothorax[59% . 4 Conservative management is an indication in the majority of cases of subcutaneous emphysema because it is usually a self-limited condition and spontaneous remission usually occurs. We conclude that initial effort must be made to detect the underlying cause of the subcutaneous emphysema in order that appropriate management may be undertaken.

  • Sleep-related eating disorder (SRED) is a newly recognized parasomnia that describes a clinical condition of compulsive eating under an altered level of consciousness during sleep. Recently, it is increasingly recognized in clinical practice. The exact etiology of SRED is unclear, but it is assumed that SRED might share features of both sleepwalking and eating disorder. There have been also accumulating reports of SRED related to the administration of various psychotropic drugs, such as zolpidem, triazolam, olanzapine, and combinations of psychotropics. Especially, zolpidem in patients with underlying sleep disorders that cause frequent arousals, may cause or augment sleep related eating behavior. A thorough sleep history is essential to recognition and diagnosis of SRED. The timing, frequency, and description of food ingested during eating episodes should be elicited, and a history of concurrent psychiatric, medical, sleep disorders must also be sought and evaluated. Interestingly, dopaminergic agents as monotherapy were effective in some trials. Success with combinations of dopaminergic and opioid drugs, with the addition of sedatives, has also been reported in some case reports.

  • We encountered a rare condition of rice body in subacromial and subdeltoid spaces in a patient with unremarkable medical history. Although it is uncommon, there have been continued reports on its formation in certain type of infective and inflammatory arthritis. However, except for a traumatic event, evaluation yielded no known and conceivable cause for his chronic inflammatory bursitis. Relatively typical findings for rice body on magnetic resonance imaging have been described, and in our case the imaging prompted us to schedule early removal, which is generally accepted as the management of choice to prevent further progression of symptoms. The symptoms of the shoulder showed significant improvement, and a close follow-up schedule has been recommended for observation of recurrence and development of any foreseeable underlying cause.

  • The rate of suicide is the 5th leading cause of death in Korea. Moreover, suicide is the 1st cause of death in from 2nd to 4th decade. In order to treat suicide attempters who have visited the emergency room and to prevent retries, it is necessary to understand the nature of the suicide and to take the right approach. Suicide is more than doubled in women, and retry rates are high among patients with a history of suicide. Suicidal means are throat, fall, gas poisoning, poisoning and drowning. All suicide attempters should suspect and treat cervical spine injury and airway management, and rapid hyperbaric oxygen therapy is recommended for carbon monoxide addicts. Interviewing a suicide attempter requires a sympathetic attitude and examines the underlying depression or adaptation disorders. Interdisciplinary care with mental health departments is necessary, and interventions in emergency roombased suicide attempt management work can be helpful to connect with the community.

  • Osteoporosis is a major underlying cause of bone fracture in postmenopausal women and older person in general, and so it is a major public health problem. It is a condition in which bone mass decreases, causing bones to be more susceptible to fracture. A trivial trauma can easily cause one or more bones to break in a person with severe osteoporosis. Physicians and patients alike are concerned with the optimum approach to the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis. The diagnostic method and proper use of agents, such as calcium, vitamin D, estrogen, and fluorides, as well as the role of exercise are issues that have generated major research efforts. So these are to be mentioned in this paper.
