  • This study introduce that we studied optimization and possibility of smoke spread prevention with air-curtain system in undersea tunnel named from Ho-Nam to Jeju line in domestic if a fire break out in train. To verify performance, air-curtain system is installed between rescue station platform and each door of passenger car to provide safety route to evacuator and we studied simulation model of various cases about 15 MW fire severity considering domestic specifications. As a result we verified the fact that CASE1(air jet with 15degree toward passenger car) and CASE 5 (air jet with 15degree toward passenger car and pressure air blast from cross passage) is best Smoke Spread Prevention and less inflow carbon monoxide. Through above results, we expect that air-curtain system is one of the facilities for fire safety and provide us safety platform route in undersea tunnel.

  • Seoulmetro has operated the air cooling equipment for 57 stations to improve services focused on our customers who use Seoulmetro during the summer season and has established every year. However, a new set of problems has arisen with the cooling tower to support a heat exchange of cooling water. The most important matter is loss of efficiency in the cooling tower. The leading cause of this problem is that we use an indoor type. As the cooling tower room is located in the underground of the city because of the residents near the station. Therefore It is difficult to establish the cooling tower on the ground. But it is unsuitable for the location requirements of the underground type because it has a limited space to set up the air cooling equipment, for example, the cooling tower and a ventilating opening. As a result of such an unfavorable condition, the cooling tower doesn't work efficiently and the warmth of cooling water because of insufficiency of a heat exchange and a refrigerator's technical obstacle such as a high-temperature and a high-pressure has arisen. To prevent this situation, the operator tend to reduce refrigerant. Accordingly, the efficiency of the air conditioning is getting lower and lower. Study wishes to analyze the matter to improve indoor cooling tower efficiency and recommend a best practice for a person who manage the establishment.

  • This study derives the risk-Influence factors for subway structures, the basis for the transition from the current subway disaster recovery-oriented maintenance system to a preemptive disaster management system, to reduce risk factors for existing subway structures. To apply reasonable risk assessment techniques, risk influence factors for subway underground structures using statistical information(spatial information) and risk influence factors according to frequency of accidents were selected to derive the risk factors. The significant risk factors were verified through ground subsidence (SI: Subsidence Impact)-based correlation analysis. This process confirmed that the subsidence of the ground was a risk influence factor for the subway structure. The main result of this study is that derive the risk factors to improve the risk factors of subway structures due to the rapid increase in disaster risk factors. The derived risk factors that were expected to affect the depression around subway stations and track structures did not show a noticeable correlation, but the cause of this may be that there is no physical connection between them, but on the other hand, the accumulated data may not accurately record the surrounding depression. Accordingly, in order to evaluate the risk of depression around the station and track, more intensive observation and data accumulation around the structure are required.

  • There are many constraints, both economically and ethically that experimenting human evacuation behavior in situations such as fire. Therefore, the evacuation behavior is simulated based on the existing studies. In recent years, the foundation has been established as computer performance advances, models closer to reality can be studied. In this study, the evacuation time in the subway platform was analyzed from modeling human behavior and smoke propagation in a fire. The evacuation efficiency was also examined by dividing the shape of the subway station platform by the stair position and comparing the evacuation times for each platform. As a result, it was found that the side platform was longer than the island platform by 36.82% more time to evacuation. The shape of the stairs is most advantageous in terms of evacuation form side type platform was 210 seconds and island type platform was 186 seconds, when a fire occurs in the center of the platform. And most favorable in location of evacuation stairs were located at 2/5 point and 4/5 from depending on the step location.

  • Notifying emergency evacuation methods, accurate disaster location and evacuation route guidance can be very active alternatives to quickly minimize evacuation and casualties in disaster situation in the development of subway disaster prevention detection system that detects the disaster signs at the subway station early on the basis of Internet of things and leads passengers to evacuate. It's not easy to ensure perfect functioning of fire fighting facilities and equipments due to underground space structure with narrow exits. Therefore, we developed disaster provision EL Display integrated board that can induce the most efficient evacuation and the field experiment was conducted to examine the practical application in this study. Especially the applicability was verified by field application test because there is no case in which EL panels are used to evacuate disasters.

  • To resolve the problems of underground space and shade area, repeaters which is used in CDMA system affect the performance and services of a base station or the other services. In this paper, we propose relevant procedures in using CDMA repeaters and the effect of CDMA base stations. We also want to know the operating conditions for the reduction of the effect of repeaters.

  • Modern people stay at indoor places about 90% of a day. Radon-222 is a gas produced radioactive decay of the element radium. And, radon is one of the major indoor air pollutants moves into the underground space through various routes and is considered to cause lung c hurting the lung tissues, In this study, we measured the subway radon level at 9 stations o According to test results, we can figure out the concentration of radon by lines, times, and m points. So, it was found that ventilation conditions are the most important factors in the su quality. Finally, we suggested effective and economic management methods of air pollution subway.

  • underground space have many negative environmental clements which should be confirmed on location and line of action by the artificial signs. iccordingly, environmental graphics as visual language for popular signification-function have to be studied on sign theory of symbolic meanings. Ho\/ever, its usage has not only decorated by microscopiC appreciative eye but also lost its meanlllg as a visual language which was caused by the negligence of systematic management of the facility in charge Result of study, Visual environmental factors as a cause of behavioral attitude based on the study, which has been carefully considered as a communication of the visual language. Therefore, considering the underground environmental graphics as the: sign or the signification-function, It has to be studied on syntactic, semantic and pragmatic viewpoint. • In the case of train stations, due to the specificity of underground spaces with limited smoke emissions, if appropriate removal equipment is not equipped, the damage caused by fire smoke may increase in the event of a fire. As a result, the need for measures to ensure the safety of evacuation of underground stations has been highlighted, and research for safe evacuation of platform users in case of fire is continuously being conducted at home and abroad. However, although the smoke removal area is currently divided by smoke boundary walls and platform screen doors (PSD) and installed in the train platform, standards for smoke removal methods (air supply or exhaust) for each fire removal area, that is, smoke removal mode, are not presented. In this study, fire analysis and evacuation analysis were performed to estimate the number of deaths and to derive F/N guidance in order to quantitatively evaluate the fire risk according to the fire station fire, and the total risk was the lowest in the case of fire area exhaust and supply to adjacent areas.

  • Following natural disasters, there is a need to develop temporary housing through the rapid installation of mass-produced prefabricated housing. This study has developed a model construction manual for prefabricated temporary housing installable in underground spaces. First, the temporary housing prototype was drawn based on opinion poll results from earlier studies. $4.32m^2$ was calculated as the basic unit of the temporary housing living space for one person. Units included panel type, box type and mixed-type, for a variety of field conditions and scales. In order to enable space expansion and movement desirable to the user, the prototype was combination of panel and box types. The drawn prototype was utilized as the basic design template for producing prototypes and for the manual. Second, the possibility of utilizing subway stations as temporary housing was verified through the production of the prototype, and the construction process was summarized in the manual. The manual was developed in the form of a checklist to provide a guideline for users to build with prefab materials.
