Tandem HPLC and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization(APcI) LC/MS method was used for the determination and confirmation of carbendazim residues in soybean sprout. Fluorescence(FL) detector was connected in tandem with the ultraviolet(UV) detector for dual detection of the carbendazim residue at the excitation and emission wavelength of 280 nm and 310 nm, respectively. The limit of detection for carbendazim was $0.1{\mu}g/kg$ sample. Recoveries of carbendazim from fortified soybean sprout at 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 ppm were averaged 89.1%. Mass spectrometry using a APcI source confirmed the carbendazim residue in the soybean sprout sample. Fragmentation pattern on the APcI LC/MS spectrum of carbendazim was simpler than that from electron impact(EI) mass spectrum. Carbendazim produced 3 major ions including m/z 133, m/z 159 and m/z 191($M^{+}$). This method was sensitive enough to provide reliable and reproducible results for practical applications.
A simple HPLC method with ultraviolet detection of nicardipine in human plasma was developed and validated. After drug extraction with solid phase extraction (SPE) method, chromatographic separation of nicardipine in plasma was achieved at $30^{\circ}C$ with a $C_{18}$ column and acetonitrile-0.02% phosphate buffer mixture (with 0.02% triethylamine, final pH 7.0), as mobile phase. Quantitative determination was performed by ultraviolet detection at 254 nm. The method was specific and validated with a limit of quantification of 5 ng/mL. The intra- and inter-day precision and accuracy were acceptable for all quality control samples including the lower limit of quantification. The applicability of the method was demonstrated by analysis of plasma after oral administration of a single 40 mg dose to 8 healthy subjects. From the plasma nicardipine concentration versus time curves, the mean $AUC_{t}$, was $134.04{\pm}59.72\;ng\;hr/mL$ and $C_{max}$ of $108.65{\pm}69.17\;ng/mL$ reached 1.5 hr after administration. The mean biological half-life of nicardipine was $3.93{\pm}0.82\;hr$. Based on the results, this simple and validated assay method could readily be used in any pharmacokinetic or bioequivalence studies using human.
We present the design specifications and the performance estimation of the FUVS (Far Ultraviolet Spectrograph) proposed for the observations of aurora, day/night airglow and astronomical objects on small satelltes in the spectral range of $900~1750AA$. The design of FUVS is carried out with the full consideration of optical characteristics of the grating and the aspheric substrate. Two independent methods, ray-tracing and the wave front aberration theory, are employed to estimate the performance of the optical design and it is verified that both procedures yield the resolution of $2~5AA$ in the entire spectral range. MDF (Minimum Detectable Flux) is also estimated using the known characteristics of the reflecting material and MCP, to study the feasibility of detection for faint emission lines from the hot interstellar plasmas. The results give that the observations from 1 day to 1 week, depending on the line intensity, can detect such faint emission lines from diffuse interstellar plasmas.

The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of $Ca_xSr_{2-x}$ and activator on the structural and luminescent properties of green-emitting $Ca_xSr_{2-x}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ nano phosphor. Using urea as fuel and ammonium nitrate as oxidizer, $Ca_xSr_{2-x}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ has been successfully synthesized, using a combustion method. The particles were found to be small, spherical and of round surface. SEM imagery showed that the phosphors particles are of nanosize. The $Ca_xSr_{2-x}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ emission spectrum for 360 nm excitation showed a single band, with a peak at 490 nm, which is a green emission. The highest luminous intensity was at $1,000^{\circ}C$, which was obtained when the $Eu^{2+}$ content (y) was 0.05. The results support the application of $Ca_xSr_{2-x}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor as a fluorescent material for ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (UV-LEDs). Characteristics of the synthesized $Ca_xSr_{2-x}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) detection.
For the research of solar EUV (extreme ultraviolet) radiation, we have designed a small-sifted engineering model of solar EUV telescope, which is suitable for a Korean satellite. The EUV sole. telescope was designed to observe the sun at $584.3AA$(He I) and $629.7AA$(OV) The optical system is an f/8 Ritchey-Chr rien, and the effective diameter and focal length are 80mm and 640mm, respectively. The He I and 0V filters are loaded in a filter wheel. In the detection part, the MCP (Microchannel Plate) type is Z-stack, and the channel-to-diameter radio is 40:1. MCP and CCD are connected by fiber optic taper. A commercial optical design software is used for the analysis of the optical system design.
The present study used the liquid extraction pretreatment method and developed a liquid chromatographyultraviolet detector (LC-UV) for the simultaneous determination of 14 sulfonamides (SAs) residues in porcine and chicken muscle. Linearity within a range of $50-150\;{\mu}g/kg$ was obtained with the correlation coefficient ($r^2$) of 0.9673-0.9997. The mean recovery of SAs was 55.9-109.7% (relative standard deviations; RSDs 1.7-17.3%) in porcine muscle and 52.8-112.4% (RSDs 2.3-16.9%) in chicken muscle. The limits of detection (LODs) and limits of quantification (LOQs) were 2-32 and $7-96\;{\mu}g/kg$ in porcine muscle, and 4-32 and $13-97\;{\mu}g/kg$ in chicken muscle, respectively. These values were lower than the maximum residue limits (MRLs) established by the European Union. The sum of all SAs residues present should be less than $100\;{\mu}g/kg$.

Ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors are used in various industries and fields of research, including optical communication, flame sensing, missile plume detection, astronomical studies, biological sensors, and environmental research. However, general UV detectors that employ Schottky junction diodes and p-n junctions have high fabrication cost and low quantum efficiency. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of materials used to manufacture UV photodetectors in a low-cost solution process that requires easy fabrication of flexible substrates. We fabricated p-type NiO and n-type ZnO substrates with wide band gap by the sol-gel method and compared the characteristics of substrates prepared under different spin-coating and heat-treatment conditions.
A study of the tissue depletion of florfenicol (FFC) administered orally to pigs at a dose of 0.05 kg/ton feed for 7 days was performed. Sixteen healthy cross swine were administered with FFC. Four treated animals were arbitrarily selected to be sacrificed 1, 3 and 5 days after the end of treatment. FFC residue concentrations in muscle, liver, kidney, and fat were determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultraviolet photometric detector at 230 nm. The correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of the calibration curve for florfenicol amine (FFCa) was > 0.997 and the limits of detection and quantification were 0.012 and $0.040{\mu}g/mL$, respectively. Recovery rates in swine edible tissues ranged from 79.1 to 93.5%. In the FFC-treated group, FFC residues at 3 days post-treatment were below the maximum residue limits (MRLs) in muscle, kidney and fat, and those at 5 days post-administration were below the MRLs in all edible tissues. These results suggest that the withdrawal period of FFC after the drug treatment might be 5 days, which is a sufficient amount of time for reduction of the FFC residues below the MRLs in all edible tissues.
X-rays with shorter wavelengths than ultraviolet light have very good penetration power. It is convergence in industrial and medical fields has been used a lot. n particular, in the industrial field, various researches have been conducted on the detection of foregin body inside metal that can occur in the production process of products such as metal using x-ray, a non-destructive inspection device. Detectors are becoming increasingly popular for the popularization of DR (Digital Radiography) photography methods that digitally acquire X-ray video images. However, there are cases where foreign body detection is impossible depending on the sensor noise and sensitivity inside the detector. When producing a metal product, since the defective rate of the produced product may increase due to contamination of the foreign body, accurate detection is necessary. In this paper, we provide a correction model for X-ray images acquired in order to improve the efficiency of defect detection such as foreign body inside metal. When applied to defect detection in the production process of metal products through the proposed model, it is expected that the detection of product defects can be processed accurately and quickly.
This study evaluated the fire detection performance of an automatic fire extinguishing system for road tunnels, which combines flame wavelength detection technology with flame image detection technology. This fusion technique to improve the fire detection capability can reduce the damage caused by the fire suppression by locating the fire source in the fire and discharging the pressurized water only at the fire source. Experiments were conducted to determine the position of a fire source when a $70cm{\times}70cm$ target was placed at a distance of 15 m, 20 m, 25 m, 30 m, and 35 m, respectively, in a situation where there is a flame and smoke in a tunnel. The performance of the ultraviolet and triple wavelength infrared (IR3) sensors was attenuated due to the interference of thick smoke. In addition when the flame was blocked by thick smoke, the image sensor sensed the smoke and emitted a fire signal.
