LNOI 포토닉스의 기술 동향 (LNOI Photonics Technology Trends)

  • Recently, LNOI photonics technology has attracted attention as a photonics platform capable of integrating ultra-high-speed, low power consumption, and high nonlinearity optical devices, as it is possible to manufacture LiNbO3 optical waveguides with ultra-low optical loss and a radius of curvature of several tens of micrometers. Here, we will briefly compare various photonics platforms, such as Si, InP, SiN, and LNOI, describe the current research trends of LNOI photonics, and discuss the direction of photonics technology at the conclusion.

  • With the development of computing technology, the convergence of ICT with existing traditional industries is being attempted. In particular, with the recent advent of 5G, connectivity with numerous AuT (autonomous Things) in the real world as well as simple mobile terminals has increased. As more devices are deployed in the real world, the need for technology for devices to learn and act autonomously to communicate with humans has begun to emerge. This article introduces "Device to the Edge," a new computing paradigm that enables various devices in smart spaces (e.g., factories, metaverse, shipyards, and city centers) to perform ultra-reliable, low-latency and high-speed processing regardless of the limitations of capability and performance. The proposed technology, referred to as EdgeCPS, can link devices to augmented virtual resources of edge servers to support complex artificial intelligence tasks and ultra-proximity services from low-specification/low-resource devices to high-performance devices.

공작기계의 서보제어와 입력성형기법 (Input Shaping for Servo Control of Machine Tools)

  • Servo control loops are a core part in the control architecture of machine tools. Servo control loops manage acceleration, velocity and position of all the axes in a machine tool based on commands. The performance of servo control loops sets the basis for quality of production paris and cycle time reduction. First, this paper presents a general control architecture of machine tools and several control schemes in literature, which can be applicable to machine tools control; including Zero Phase Error Tracking Control (ZPETC) and Cross Coupling Control (CCC). After that, modem control strategies to mitigate the problem of high speed machining are reviewed. In high speed machining, high accelerations excite the machine structure up to high frequencies, thereby exciting the structure's modes of vibration. These structural vibrations need to be damped if accurate positioning or trajectory following is required. Input shaping is an attractive option in dealing with structural vibrations. The advantages and drawbacks of using input shaping technique for machine tools are discussed in detail.

  • The quality of medical treatment can be promoted by transmitting high-definition medical images and sharing these images. The high speed transmission network is a requirement for the ultra high-definition media. A high quality medical research and education can be provided by connecting resources and media-data through the superhigh speed research network. Network bandwidth for 4K media transmission generated with Lambda network technology.

  • Though the technology on the ultra-precise machining has been developed intensively, the high speed and high precision for large machining range is still very hard to achieve. The linear motor system fur the universal machining center is proper fur high speed and high precision, but it has drawback of sensitivity to disturbance. In this research, two degrees of freedom controller based on the zero phase error tracking controller (ZPETC) and disturbance observer are proposed to improve the tracking performance and dynamic stiffness of linear motor system. The proposed controller is verified in simulations and experiments on a nano-positioner system, and the experimental result shows that the tracking performance improved. In addition, the PID optimization method is proposed for the commercialized controller such as the PMAC based system. The tracking as well as impedance is included in the cost function of optimization.

진공튜브 내 초고속열차의 공기저항 파라메타 연구 - 1 (Parametric Study on the Aerodynamic Drag of Ultra High-speed Train in Evacuated Tube - Part 1)

  • 본 연구에서는 튜브-열차 시스템의 기본적인 유동장의 특성을 파악하고, 튜브열차의 공기저항을 계산할 수 있는 보다 효율적인 수치 해법을 제시하고 계산 결과에 대한 타당성을 논하였다. 최소한의 계산 영역 내에선 정상상태의 해를 찾기 위하여 비정상 해석의 결과를 기준으로 하여 경계조건의 부여 방법을 변화시킨 정상 해석의 결과를 비교한 결과, 열차속도가 300 km/h일 경우에는 공기저항의 값이 정상해석 결과와 비정상해석 결과가 잘 일치하였으며, 동일 속도 대역에서의 고속열차 현장시험 결과와 비교한 결과 열차/터널 단면적비에 따라 공기저항의 비가 동일한 추세를 나타나는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe experimental results about the butt welding and bead on plate welding of the high power Continuous Wave (CW) Fiber laser for Ultra-low carbon Interstitial Free(IF) steel plate for gear part of car. After being welded of the gear parts by the fiber laser and electron beam Microstructures of melting zone had been mixed acicular, granular bainitic, quasi-polygonal and widmanstatten ferrite because of a radical thermal diffusion after welding, difference of critical volume and grain size. As a result of experiment, when gear parts were welded by the fiber laser and electron beam, the fiber laser welding has been stable properties without internal defects more than the electron beam welding. Therefore it has the very advantages of welding high quality and productivity more than conventional melting method. The optimal welding processing parameters for gear parts were as follows : the laser power and welding speed were 3kWatt, 30mm/sec respectively. At this time heat input was $21.2{\times}10^3J/cm^2$.

고체배 알고리즘을 이용한 초정밀 위치즉정기술 개발 (Development of Ultra-precision Positioning Technology Using High-resolution Interpolation Algorithm)

  • Recently, nano-methodology is increasingly important as the ruler for measuring nano-technology, and we applied the linear encoder to nano-methodology. The quadrature output in the linear encoder has an effect on increasing the resolution in some techniques. Already, various interpolation techniques based on the quadrature signal have applied to the precision servo system. In this paper, we propose a new interpolation algorithm for ultra-precision positioning in the low speed with simulation by MATLAB SIMULINK. This method modified previous methods and was properly designed for some given control system. To verify, we first fulfilled the encoder signal test to find main parameters fer the signal transformation, then we proved the proposed interpolation algorithm by experiments, which show that the result of the interpolation algorithm corresponds with the measurement of the laser interferometer in 100 nm unit approximately. In addition, we can get more precise measurement by more accurate and noise-free signal. So we need to compensate imperfections in the encoder signal. After that, we will apply this algorithm to nano positioning system.

  • 저 비용으로 개발되는 초소형 위성의 경우 개발비용을 줄이기 위해서 상용제품(COTS; Commercial-Off-The Shelf)을 많이 사용하는 추세이며, 따라서 실제 위성을 운용하고 데이터를 수집 처리하는 명령 및 데이터 처리계(C&DH; Command and Data Handling)도 상용 컨트롤러를 중심으로 설계 및 개발되고 있다. 하지만 상용 컨트롤러는 그 기능이 제작사의 규격에 따라 한정되어 있기 때문에 다양한 인터페이스를 갖는 위성 개발에 적용할 경우 별도의 인터페이스 회로 구성이 필수적이다. 따라서 상용 컨트롤러가 지원하지 못하는 다수의 디지털 인터페이스를 쉽게 확장하고 SEU 보상을 위해서 FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)를 이용한 다중 디지털 데이터 처리 시스템(MDDCS; Multi Digital Data Control System)을 개발하였다. 개발 언어로 VHDL(Very High Speed Integrated Circuits Hardware Description Language)을 사용하였으며 Actel의 A3P1000에 구현하였다.

초광각 무선 디지털 전자 내시경 모듈에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Ultra-wide-angle Wireless Digital Electronic Endoscope Modules)

  • This paper proposes a wireless digital endoscope with a ultra-wide-angle view. Two key components are implemented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed endoscope. First, a ultra-wide-angle lens module with the field of view of 144 degree and F-number of 2.2 is designed and manufactured. Second, a wireless module for a high-speed video transfer is implemented using a USB device server and wireless LAN router. The wireless module can directly transfer a streaming video to a computer with the resolution of 1920x1080, frame rate of 30 fps, and data rate of 53.3 Mbps without an internet connection. Since the wireless module supports two USB devices, two spots can be simultaneously observed using the proposed endoscope.
