This study aims to confirm the possibility of Ultra-Violet (UV)-printed 3D printing materials using thermal polyurethane (TPU) with CMYK colors by applying an eco-friendly UV digital printing process. A UV-printed 3D printing TPU material was prepared with cycles of UV printing and CMYK colors. Dyeability of the 3D TPU samples with cycles of UV printing and CMYK were analyzed for thickness, weight, surface roughness, reflectance, colorimetry, and K/S values. The thickness and weight of 3D-printed TPU samples with cycles of UV printing are increased with overprints from 1 to 5. The surface roughness of 3D-printed TPU samples with increasing UV prints were decreased, meaning that the surface of TPU samples becomes gradually smoother. The reflectance spectra of CMYK UV-printed TPU samples showed the surface reflectance within each characteristic wavelength of CMYK. The 3D-printed TPU samples, subjected to UV printing twice or more, showed low surface reflectance. After examining the L*a*b* of the 3D-printed TPU samples by the cycles of UV printing, the study found that the more UV got printed more than 2 times, the closer the color to each CMYK.
The effectiveness of tri layer resist (TLR) technique is compared with that of single layer resist (SLR) technique in order to make a 0.8um pattern with the linewidth deviation of 10 percents. SLR technique is not appropriate to shape the micro-pattern on oxide and aluminum steps because of the standing wave effect and the light scattering effect in shaping the resist pattern. On the contrary, the uniform line with a width of 0.8um on oxide and aluminum steps can be formed by TLR technique, reducting such effects. The planarization and the light absorption coefficient of the bottom layer resist in TLR are optimized by exposing it to ultra violet light after baking it for 30min at 230\ulcorner. An uniform line with a width of 0.8um on oxide step is defined with the light absorption coefficient of 0.85 whereas that on aluminum step is defined with 0.95.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the comfort of PET clothing treated by UV. The physiological responses of the human body were investigated. Mean skin temperature and physiological signals such as Electroencephalogram (EEG), and heart rate (Electrocardiogram, (ECG)) were examined for 20 minutes during stable wearing conditions. Mean skin temperature was measured every two seconds using Ramanathan's method. Physiological responses were measured using Biopac MP100 series and analyzed using the software, Acqknowledge 3.5.2. Psychological effects were analyzed every five minutes. Comfort of untreated PET clothing decreased with the passage of time. Compared with PET clothing untreated, treated for 30 minutes, and treated for 90 minutes, the analysis of EEG showed that PET clothing treated for 90 minutes was the most comfortable after 20 minutes. In addition, the interval of the heart rate shown on the ECG was the highest in PET clothing treated for 90 minutes. Skin temperature was the lowest in PET treated for 90 minutes. We thus conclude that suitable UV irradiation would improve comfort.

Monascus anka 732Y3 was induced from Monascus anka KFCC 11832 (IFO 4478, ATCC 16360) by ultra-violet light irradiation. The growth of this new fungus is frequently more dependent on sexual propagation than asexual propagation, compared with that of its parental strain, M. anka KFCC 11832. Less conidia than those of M. anka KFCC 11832 were observed by a microscope. The optical density of the red pigments ($OD_{500}$) produced by M. anka 732Y3 was 157, which was about 10 times higer than that of M. anka KFCC 11832. Such high production of the red pigments by the mutant could be explained by the following observations.
Stone cultural properties, exposed in natural environment, is deteriorated by many weathering reasons for a long time. It is necessary to treat of consolidation and water-repellent on the surface because of the conservation of stone cultural properties. We was treated the specimen [granite(Hwangdung-suk), sandstone, marble(in JeongSeon)] by synthesis resin of DWR-Ⅲ, SI2121 and fluoropolymer, and tested on the durability, water-repellent, color stability and luster generation etc. In the result of this study, DWR-Ⅲ and fluoropolymer is superior to the waterrepellent, durability of salt and acid rain. SI2121 is superior to the penetration because of lower viscosity, but the water-repellent is inferior to the others. After the treatment of chemicals, the color-variation make an appearance but luster-generation doesn’t. With the passage of time, the color of specimen was got better because of the ‘washing’ phenomenon for ultra-violet, salt etc.
Out door exposure to daylight and weather climate conditions can cause adverse effect on the properties of automotive plastic materials. The effects of sunlight exposure, especially ultra violet (UV) radiation, can break down the chemical bonds in a polymeric material. This degradation process is called photo-degradation and ultimately leads to color changes, cracking, chalking, the loss of physical properties and deterioration of other properties. To explore the effect of sunlight exposure on the automotive materials, this study investigated photo-oxidation degree and surface property change of molding parts by analytical methods. For the further study, accelerated weathering test methods are proposed, which can correlate with out door weathering, to predict long term performance of automotive plastic materials.
According to the statistical report from National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Korea, the accident rate of closed switchboards in power systems occupies over 40%. In this paper, an integrated sensor module for monitoring the condition of closed switchboards is described. The sensor module monitors electro-magnetic (EM) wave, ultra-violet (UV) ray, heat and smoke generated by electrical discharges or insulation breakdown. The effective detection ranges were decided from experiment results; 100 kHz~10 MHz for EM wave, 220 nm~395 nm for UV ray and 0~$150^{\circ}C$ for heat, respectively. The prototype sensor module includes all functions above-mentioned in one device.
Gas phase photocatalytic oxidation of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) under 370 nm ultra-violet irradiation was investigated with TiO$_2$ catalyst. During the photocatalytic oxidation of PCE vapor several kinds of intermediate were produced, and the reaction pathways were proposed on the basis of the production sequency of the intermediates. The intermediates in the pathways of PCE oxidation were hexachloroethane, pentachlotoethane, 1, 1, 2-trichloroethane, carbon tetrachl-oride, dichloroacetylchloride, chloroform, 1,1-dichloroethane, phosgene, CO, $CO_2$, HCl, Cl$_2$.
Polarized ultraviolet irradiation techniques have been developed recently to produce alignment of liquid crystals (LC). Because of the excellent thermal stability and the alignment ablility of polyimides, polyimides has attracted considerable research interest for the photoinduced alignment layer. Hasegawa and Taira confirmed homogeneous alignment of LC by the decompostion of a polyimide induced by lineraly ultra-violet polarized light. It was reported that ultraviolet visible absorption spectra of a polyimide alignment film showed a remarkable change upon irradiation. In this study, we synthesized phthalic polyimide and a naphthalenic polyimide in order to investigate the effect of the polyimide structure. Some difference in terms of the photo-induced molecular orientaion of liquid crystals were observed with the polyimide structure.
