Quercetin이 B16/F10 멜라닌세포의 중식 및 멜라닌화에 미치는 영향 (In vitro Modulation of Proliferation and Melanization of B16/F10 Melanoma Cells by Quercetin)

  • Quercetin is one of the bioflavonoid compounds and has multiple biological effects such as antioxidant and effective anti-inflammatory agent. Melanin has an important role in protecting human skin from the damaging effects of ultra-violet W) radiation. We studied the effect of quercetin on proliferation of B16/F10 melanoma cells. After 48h treatment of cells with quercetin, the cells exhibited a dose-dependent inhibition in their proliferation without apoptosis. Therefore, the decrease in cell numbers may be due to cell growth arrest, not due to cell death by cytotoxicity. We also investigated the effect of quercetin on melanogenesis of this cells. B16/F10 melanoma cells were grown for 48h in the presence of 0.01~50$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml quercetin and the total melanin contents were measured. Quercetin stimulated melanization of the cells in low concentrations (0.01~20$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml), whereas it inhibited melanization in high concentrations (30~50$\mu\textrm{g}$/ml). It was observed that quercetin differently regulates melanogenesis of B16/F10 melanoma cells dependent on its concentrations.

  • 자외선 완전차단 및 청색광을 일부 차단하고 광변색성을 가지는 편광안경렌즈를 개발하였다. 심야 운전이나 반사광에 의한 눈부심을 획기적으로 줄이고 자외선이 강한 공간에서는 선글라스 역할을 하며 평상시는 안경렌즈로 사용할 수 있는 기능성 안경렌즈이다. 광변색성은 명반응에서는 0.5초 암반응에서는 3초 정도의 회복시간이 걸렸다. 편광기능은 95% 정도를 얻었다. 자외선은 완전히 차단되었고 청색광은 30%정도의 저감 효과를 얻었다. 광변색성 및 자외선차단기능과 편광기능을 하나로 결합한 렌즈는 국내 시장을 조사한 결과 최초의 시도이다.

The Evaluation of Ceria Slurry for Blank Mask Polishing for Photo-lithography Process

  • 반도체공정에서 Photo-lithography는 특정 광원을 사용하여 구현하고자 하는 패턴을 기판상에 형성하는 기술이다. 이러한 Photo-lithography 공정에서는 패턴이 형성되어 있는 마스크가 핵심적인 역할을 하며 반도체소자의 전체적인 성능을 결정한다. 이에 따라 Photo-lithography용 마스크에 사용되는 Blank 마스크는 Defect의 최소화 및 우수한 평탄도 등의 조건들이 요구되고 있다. 이러한 Blank 마스크 재료로 광원을 효율적으로 투과시키는 성질이 우수하고 다른 재료에 비해 열팽창계수가 작은 석영기판이 사용되고 있다. 석영 기반의 마스크는 UV Lithography에서 주로 사용되고 있으며 그 밖에 UV-NIL (Nano Imrpint Lithography), EUVL (Extreme Ultra Violet Lithography) 등에도 이용되고 있다. 석영기판을 가공하여 Blank 마스크로 제작하기 위해 석영기판의 Lapping/Polishing 등이 핵심기술이며 현재 일본에서 전량 수입에 의존하고 있어, 이에 대한 연구의 필요성이 절실한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 Blank 마스크제작을 위한 석영기판의 Polishing 공정에 사용되는 Ceria Slurry의 특성 연구 및 이에 따른 연마평가를 실시하였으며 첨가제의 조건에 따른 pH/Viscosity/Stability 등의 물리적인 특성을 관찰하여 석영기판 Polishing에 효율적인 Ceria slurry의 최적조건을 도출했다. 또한, 조건에 따른 Slurry의 정확한 분석을 위해 Zeta Potential Analyzer를 이용하여 연마입자의 크기 및 Zeta Potential에 대한 평가를 실시한 후 연마제와 석영기판의 Interaction force를 측정하였다. 상기 실험에 의해 얻어진 최적화된 연마 공정 조건하에서 Ceria slurry를 사용하여 연마평가를 실시함으로써 Removal Rate/Roughness 등의 결과를 관찰하였다. 본 연구를 통해 반도체 photo mask 제작을 위한 Ceria slurry의 주요특성을 파악하고 석영기판의 Polishing에 효율적인 조건을 도출함으로써 Lithography 마스크를 효율적으로 제작할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

Lower Hole-injection barrier between pentacene and HDT-modified Gold with lowered workfunction

  • Through ultra-violet photoemission spectroscopy in-situ experiment, 0.67 eV energy barrier between 1-hexadecanethiol (HDT)-modified gold and pentacene was observed, which was 0.03 eV smaller than the energy barrier between bare gold and pentacene despite HDT modified gold had 0.8 eV lower work function than that of bare gold. This result is opposed to the idea that increasing the work function a metal decreases the energy barrier. This can be explained by two factors. One is the absence of interface dipole, which is observed in pentacene deposited on gold. The other is reduced ionization energy which can be explained through polarization energy or electronic splitting of molecular orbital with more crystalline structure observed through X-ray diffraction patterns.

Physicochemical Characters of Ultra Violet Ray Resistant Deinococcus sp. Isolated from Air Dust

  • Among a few number of UV-resistant isolated form various environmental sources (10), we made a comparative physio-chemoanalytical study on one of spherical bacteria isolated from air dust, presumably Deinococcus sp. (CM strain 29) with an UV resistant bacterium, Deinococcus radiophilus ATCC 27603 as the reference strain. Our isolate of UV resistant coccus, Deinococcus sp. CM 29 and D. radiophilus ATCC 27603 showed more than 75% matching coefficient in metabolic activity of various substrates. The most predominant cellular fatty acid of both strains was palmitoleic acid (C 16 :1, cis 9), but the detail fatty acid profiles were slightly dissimilar to each other. Cell-bound arange pigment seemed to be an identical chemicals on spectrophotometric analysis. L-ornithine was detected as cell-wall amino acid in both strains. Galactose was detected as cell-wall sugar in D. radiophilus ATCC 27603, whereas glucose in Deinococcus sp. CM 29. G-C molar ratio of both strains was comparable, 63-65%.

Effect of $Sb_2O_3$ on Solarization of Photosensitive Glasses Containing Ag and $CeO_2$

  • The relationship between the addition of Sb$_2$O$_3$ and the color difference by solarization in photosensitive glasses was investigated. Glasses containing CeO$_2$ and Sb$_2$O$_3$ simultaneously and glasses with only CeO$_2$ were changed reddish and yellowish respectively after exposing to ultra violet ray. Color difference between compositions was represented by dominant wavelength and purity. Since, in glasses containing CeO$_2$ and Sb$_2$O$_3$ simultaneously, Sb$_2$O$_3$ as reduction agent affected Ce$^3+$ ions to increase in glass and more Ce$^4+$ ions were induced than in glasses with only CeO$_2$ during UV irradiation, more electrons released by photo-ionization, which were color centers, were trapped by Ce$^4+$. In conclusion, the introduction of Sb$_2$O$_3$ to photosensitive glasses with CeO$_2$ resulted in the change of color center concentration in glasses and prevented the solarization of photosensitive glasses with CeO$_2$.

이온주입에 의한 PC(Polycarbonate) 필름의 자외선 영역 광 투과 특성 (Optical Transmittance Property of Polycarbonate film at UV Range by ion Implantation)

  • Ion implantation in polymeric materials can induce dramatic chemical modifications, such as bond breaking, cross linking, formation of new chemical products, which have strong influences on the macroscopic properties of the materials. In this study ion implantation was performed onto polymer, PC(polycarbonate), in order to investigate change of the optical transmittance property focusing ultraviolet ray range(200-400nm). PC was irradiated with N, Ar, Kr, Xe ions at the ion energy of 50keV and the dose range of 5 ${\times}$ 10$\^$15/, 1 ${\times}$ 10$\^$16/, 7${\times}$10$\^$16/ ions/$\textrm{cm}^2$. FT-IR, XPS, UV/Vis transmittance spectroscopy measurement technologies were employed to obtain chemical. structural properties and optical transmittance of irradiated polymer. The original PC(unimplanted) is quite transparent that it has more than 88% transmittance in the range UV-A(320∼400nm), but after ion implantation, surface colors were changed to the dark brown and the transmittance of UV ray decreased for all implantation condition, and the absorption edge was shift to visible range with increasing mass of implanted ion species and dose.

원적외선이 흰쥐의 생존율에 미치는 영향 (The effect of Far-infrared on survival rate of mice)

  • IR classified by wavelength three parts NIR, MIR. FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-14m. The Sun's ray is composed of Infared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(60%), IR(20%), and UV(20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FIR had been begun to use making products. FIR with low temperature can deeply penetrate on the human body composed things without troublesome, since FIR has effectively operated on the human body at low temperature (35-40 $^{\circ}$C). In this study, we experimented in the specific temperature FlR radiation intensity. water consumption rate, feed consumption rate. survival rate and mean of weight balance with FlR radiation instrument. According to the results, the FlR radiation to the mice assisted to increase the survival rate.

대형 LCD용 쐐기형 도광판 제조공정에 대한 연구 (Manufacturing of Wedge-type Light Guide Plates for Large Liquid Crystal Displays)

  • The light guide plate (LGP) provides a surface light source on the back of the liquid crystal display (LCD), which is not self-emitting; thus, it is an essential component of display units requiring sufficient brightness. To maximize the light-emitting effect of an LGP, enough incident light, from the light source, should enter into its side. However, the current trend in LCD panels is represented by larger and thinner screens and this smaller thickness prevents the accordingly thin LGPs from providing sufficient brightness. This paper proposes a process for manufacturing wedge-type LGPs, which might increase the amount of incident light and, consequently the surface light emission, for applications in large LCDs. The proposed method was validated by building a dedicated manufacturing machine and performing illuminance experiments on the fabricated LGP.

The study of shape of electrodes and I-V characteristics for Ultraviolet LED

  • About functional parameters of a LED/UVLED (Light Emitting Diode/Ultra Violet LED), one of the most important parameters is the I-V characteristic. By researching factors affect to the I-V characteristic of uvled, we found that beside of the structure of the device itself, there is the influence of the electrode materials, electrode shapes, the process of wiring and packaging. In this work, we want to improve the performance of UVLED to find out the optimal mask design principles. The study is based on theoretical mathematical models, as well as the use of simulation software tool Comsol. From all results obtained, the team has improved mask design to manufacture electrodes for GaN-based UVLED. Electrode masks are designed by three softwares, which are Intellisuite, Klayout and AutoCad. Intellisuite masks would be used in fabrication simulation while Klayout and AutoCad are used to fabricate electrodes in experiments. As well as, we silmulated the structure of an uvled 355nm emission wavelength by TCAD software, in order to compare with uvled sample that has the same emission wavelength.
