Design and Implementation of Economical Security Monitoring System (경제적인 보안 모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • DVR is widely used in the security monitoring system because it has excellent performance compared with VCR. In this paper, the new DVR interfaces and repeaters enhancing the performance of the existing DVR have been designed and implemented, which enables a large-scaled security monitoring system to be built economically. A repeater in this paper connects 8 monitoring terminals to 2 channels of DVR and a DVR interface manages 16 repeaters to be able to accommodate 128 monitoring terminals. Eventually, the implemented system has a quadruple scalability compared to the existing systems and can reduce the installation cost substantially by using cost-effective UTP cables instead of coaxial cables. And the system could be effectively used in various environments and conditions because various functions such as video transmission, audio communication, emergency call, and RFID card are integrated into the system.

  • The IP cameras have rapidly replaced the analog CCTVs as the cameras have the advantages of not only being able to remotely monitor, but also supplying power through the UTP cable, In this paper, we introduce the protocol architecture of the ONVIF standard which is widely applied to the IP camera and other Internet protocols to support it, and implement the ONVIF Device on a commercial board. Although these functions can be controlled by the Client (PC), several functions such as privacy masks, temperature display of the thermal camera, and ROI (Region of Interest) are implemented through a web viewer on the device. Through the experiment, the functions of ONVIF Profile S and web viewer are verified through SOAP messages exchanged between Device (IP camera) and Client program and streamed images.

New composite traits for joint improvement of milk and fertility trait in Holstein dairy cow

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to define a new composite trait for Holstein dairy cows and evaluate the possibility of joint improvement in milk and fertility traits. Methods: A data set consisting 35,882 fertility related records (days open [DO], calving interval [CI], and number of services per conception [NSC], and total milk yield in each lactation [TMY]) was collected from 1998 to 2016 in Polish Holstein-Friesian breed herds. In this study TMY, DO, CI, and lactation length of each cow was used to obtain composite milk and fertility traits (CMF). Results: Moderate heritability (0.15) was estimated for composite trait that was higher than heritability of female fertility related traits: DO 0.047, CI 0.042, and NSC 0.014, and slightly lower than heritability of TMY 0.19. Favourable genetic correlations (-0.87) were estimated between CMF with TMY. Spearman rank correlation coefficients between breeding value of CMF with DO, CI, and TMY were high (>0.94) but with NSC were moderate (0.64). Selection on CMF caused favourable correlated genetic gains for DO, CI, and TMY. Different selection indices with different emphasis on fertility and milk production were constructed. The amount of correlated genetic gains obtained for DO and total milk production according to selection in CMF were higher than of genetic gains obtained for DO and TMY in selection indices with different emphasis on milk and fertility. Conclusion: The animal selection only based on a composite trait - CMF proposed in current study would simultaneously lead to favourable genetic gains for both milk and fertility related traits. In this situation CMF introduced in current study can be used to overcome to limitations of selection index and CMF could be useful for countries that have problems in recording traits, especially functional traits.

Composite genotypes of progestogen-associated endometrial protein gene and their association with composition and quality of dairy cattle milk

  • Objective: The progestogen-associated endometrial protein (PAEP) gene encodes the main whey protein in milk, β-lactoglobulin. The aim of the study was to investigate polymorphism in the PAEP gene and its association with milk yield, composition, and quality. Methods: Test-day records for 782 dairy cows were analysed. A total of 10 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) within the PAEP gene were investigated. The following parameters were recorded: milk yield (MY, kg/d), percent milk fat (%), protein (PP, %), dry matter (DMP, %) and lactose (LP, %), urea content (UC, mg/L) as well as natural logarithm for somatic cell count (LnSCC, ln). Effect on genomic estimated breeding values accuracy was evaluated with pedigree and single step model. Results: Results show that only three SNPs were polymorphic, creating 5 composite genotypes: P1 to P5. Differences in MY between composite genotypes were noted in the two tested herds. Cows with P5 composite genotypes were characterised by the highest PP and LnSCC and the lowest LP and UC (p<0.05). P4 was linked to an increased DMP and UC, while P3 to an increase in LP and decrease in PP and LnSCC. Both factors are important markers in herd management and have high influences on the herds economics. For 5 out of 7 traits the accuracy of prediction was improved by including the haplotype as a fixed effect. Conclusion: Presented results may suggest a new way to optimise breeding programmes and demonstrate the impact of using genomic data during that process.

Apoptosis and Apoptosis Related Gene Expression of Preimplantation Porcine Diploid Parthenotes Cultured in Different Protein Supplements

  • This study was conducted to determine effects of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), fetal bovine serum (FBS) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) on blastocoel formation, cell number, apoptosis and apoptosis-related gene expression of porcine diploid parthenotes developing in vitro. Embryos were collected from 2-cell or late 4-cell diploid parthenotes that activated with electro pulse, and in vitro cultured in the NCSU 23 medium supplemented without or with 0.1% PVA, 10% FBS or 0.4% BSA for day 7. The morphological analysis of apoptosis in embryos was carried out using propidium iodide staining and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labeling. The expressions of Bcl-xL, Bak and P53 in blastocyst stage parthenotes and in vivo-derived blastocysts were determined using semiquantitative RT-PCR. The addition of 0.4% BSA to the culture medium enhanced the development of 2- or late 4-cell stage parthenotes to the blastocysts stage (P < 0.01) while FBS decreased the incidence of blastocoel formation. FBS also reduced cell numbers of blastocysts developed from both 2- (P < 0.001) and late 4-cell (P < 0.05) embryos and increased percentage of apoptosis in the blastocysts (P < 0.001). The relative abundance of Bcl-xL mRNA in diploid parthenotes cultured from 2-cell stage in the presence of BSA is similar with that in in vivo derived embryos, but is significantly higher than in parthenotes cultured with FBS, PVA or none protein supplement control. Bak mRNA showed a significant increase at the blastocyst stage in FBS supplement medium. This result suggests that apoptosis related gene expression is significantly affected by protein supplements, which may result in alteration of apoptosis and embryo viability of porcine embryos developing in vitro.

  • Erythrocytes from three different animal species were used to determine mannose-sensitive hemagglutination (MSHA) and mannose-resistant hemagglutination (MRHA) of 755 isolates obtained from rectal swabs of healthy pig. In addition, colony hybridization using digoxigenin-dUTP labeled polynucleotide probes was performed for the detection of heat-stable and heat-labile enterotoxin genes carried by MRHA positive isolates. Of 755 strains, 9, 4 and 28 strains gave a positive MRHA with bovine, equine and pig erythrocytes, respectively. Of these isolates, 28 (3.7%) were characterized for positive MRHA by at least one blood. Seven isolates gave a positive MRHA with two kinds of blood. Three gave a positive MRHA with three kinds of blood. Twenty-eight strains, while positive in MRHA, yielded negative signals in the colony hybridization assay for the detection of heat-stable (STaI and STaII) and heat-labile (LT) enterotoxin genes in E. coli.

  • TV홈쇼핑 Full-HD(High Definition)로 제작, 송출되어 시청자가 시청하게 된다. 대부분의 장비들은 Coaxial Cable로 각 장비 간의 신호를 전달하며 제작, 송출되어 진다. 현재 IP기반의 제작 형태가 나오기 시작하며 UHD(Ulitra-HD) 제작 시스템에서는 IP 시스템 방식에 대해 이슈화가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 홈쇼핑 Full HD 생방송 제작에서 네트워크 케이블인 UTP(Unshielded Twisted Pair) 케이블을 이용하여 생방송 방송시스템 설계에 관한 것이다. 네트워크를 이용하여 다양한 확장성 및 생방송 방송시스템에 활용된 네트워크 시스템을 제시하고자 한다.

  • PURPOSE: Gene expression and apoptosis in testicular germ cells has been demonstrated in many transgenic animals. However, little is known about the transgenic pig and rates of apoptosis during spermatogenesis. METHODS : Morphological and biochemical features of apoptosis reported in other species were used to confirm that the TdT-mediated dUTP Nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay is an acceptable mothos for idendtification and quantification of apoptotic transgenic germ cells in histological tissue section from transgenic pig testis.   • To establish a method to evaluate the quality of the printed microarray and DNA fragments' immobilization. The target gene fragments that were made with the restriction display PCR (RD-PCR) technique were printed on a superamine modified glass slide, then immobilized with UV cross-linking and heat. This chip was hybridized with universal primers that were labeled with cy3-dUTP, as well as cDNA that was labeled with cy3-dCTP, as the conventional protocol. Most of the target gene fragments on the chip showed positive signals, but the negative control showed no signal, and vice versa. We established a method that enables an effective evaluation of the quality of the microarrays.

Novel $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase Found in the Human Milk Membrane Fraction

  • Calcium-stimulated ATPase ($Ca^{2+}$-ATPase) which has optimal pH value at 7.0 was found in the membrane fraction of human milk, and its enzymatic properties were studied. The purified $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase required 0.45 mM Ca ion for maximal activity. Among the nucleosides, $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase showed a higher substrate specificity to ATP and UTP than to CTP and GTP. $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase had apparent Km value of 0.065, and V max of 7.63 mol ATP hydrolyzed/mg pro-tein per min, respectively. $Ca^{2+}$-ATPase was potently inhibited by lanthanide, vanadate, and p-chloromercuribenzoate, and inactivated by EDTA, and CDTA and EGTA, but were unaffected by N-ethylmaleimide, $NaN_3$, ouabain, or oligomycin, and was completely inactivated by heating at $60^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. This enzyme activity was concentrated in the membrane fraction of the cream and skim milk membrane, but not founded in bovine milk.
