($TruNano^{TM}$ processing of dielectric layers and barrier-rib on soda-lime glass substrate for PDP panel

  • We present a low temperature thermal process for the transparent dielectric layer, barrier rib, and white back dielectric layer on the soda-lime glass substrate of the PDP by the $TruNano^{TM}$ processor in combination with a compositional modification to the conventional dielectric pastes. By this method the firing temperature can be lowered by more than $100^{\circ}C$.

콘크리트말뚝 타입시 발생하는 압축응력의 산정식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Formulae for the Compressive Stresses in Concrete Piles during Driving)

  • 말뚝은 타입될 때 가장 큰 응력이 발생하며 이 응력이 말뚝의 허용응력보다 크면 말뚝이 손상 되어 위험을 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 사전에 이를 정확히 예측하여 과도한 항타를 미연에 방지해야 한다. 콘크리트말뚝 타입 시 말뚝에 발생하는 압축응력의 예측방법은 여러 가지가 있으며 현재는 파동이론의 전산해석으로 만족스러운 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 경우에 따라서는 이 방법의 적용이 곤란할 수 있으며, 이 때에는 간단한 산정식을 적용하는 것이 실용적이다. 본 연구에서는 이 산정식들 중 비교적 합리적이라고 평가되는 산정식들 만을 선정하고 현장에서 실측한 항타응력과 선정된 산정식들로부터 구한 값을 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결과 Uto와 Huyuki의 식이 비교적 정확한 값을 제공하며 지반 및 시공조건에 따라 이 값에 감소계수를 곱하여 수정하면 보다 더 정확한 값을 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

스마트 폰 기반의 사용자 상황인지 플랫폼에 관한 연구 (A Study on the User Context Awareness based on the Smart Phone)

  • 이동통신 및 휴대폰 관련 사업이 급격하게 성장하고, 이를 활용한 다양한 부가서비스가 출현함에 따라 다양한 기능을 제공할 수 있는 스마트 폰은 향후 가장 주목받는 기술로 전망되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 폰을 활용하여 사용자의 상황에 적합한 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 상황인지(context-awareness) 인터페이스 플랫폼을 설계하였다. 인터페이스 플랫폼은 스마트 폰에 장착된 센서로부터 측정한 데이터를 분석하여 사용자의 정지 및 이동상황, 조도, 위치, 장소에 관한 상황을 설정함으로써 인지된 상황에 적절한 이벤트를 발생하여 효율적이고 직관적인 사용자 스마트폰 인터페이스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 제안한 인터페이스 플랫폼의 효용성을 확인하기 위해 실제 슈팅 게임 시스템에 적용한 결과, 기존의 방법들보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 제공할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 제안한 플랫폼은 게임 환경이나 스마트폰 어플리케이션 환경에서의 인터페이스 구현에 응용이 가능하다.

무인 경량전철 가용도 산정 및 검증에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation and Verification of the Availability of the Unmanned Light Railway)

  • Unattended Train operation(UTO) requires higher safety target than other systems, since all train operations are automatic. The system provider to deliver without accident or failure, and the operator to transport passengers without accident by putting all trains supplied, including them, into service. Safety rates without such failures can be represented as indicators of RAMS, among which availability is continuously controllable to achieve the target, with a clear target. Availability is often required by the licensee from the initial stage of the project to demonstrate that the request for proposal (RFP) is usually specified and to maintain separate availability targets at the operational stage. In particular, unlike unmanned operation light rail in complex systems, simple formulas are often presented to facilitate verification at each stage. This paper presents this method of usability calculation in an integrated manner at all levels and analyzes the existing usability values to ensure reliability of the availability formula for integrated use in unmanned light rail systems.

Numerical study on the structural response of energy-saving device of ice-class vessel due to impact of ice block

  • The present paper considers the contact between energy-saving device of ice-class vessel and ice block. The main objective of this study is to clarify the tendency of the ice impact force and the structural response as well as interaction effects of them. The contact analysis is performed by using LS-DYNA finite element code. The main collision scenario is based on Finnish-Swedish ice class rules and a stern duct model is used as an energy-saving device. For the contact force, two modelling approaches are adopted. One is dynamic indentation model of ice block based on the pressure-area curve. The other is numerical material modelling by LS-DYNA. The authors investigated the sensitivity of the structural response against the ice contact pressure, the interaction effect between structure and ice block, and the influence of eccentric collision. The results of these simulations are presented and discussed with respect to structural safety.

Chemical Constituents from the Aerial Parts of Bupleurum falcatum L. and Biological Evidences

  • In this study, phytochemical investigation on the aerial parts of Bupleurum falcatum resulted in the isolation of fourteen compounds including three quinic acid derivatives (1 - 3), five flavonoids (4 - 8), three monoterpene glycosides (9 - 11), and three saikosaponins (12 - 14). Compound 1 was first isolated from nature and unambiguously determined to be 3-O-feruloyl 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid on the basis of the extensive spectroscopic evidence. Biological testing revealed that saikosaponin A (12) and saikosaponin D (13) showed moderate antiproliferative effects on HL-60 and HepG2 cancer cell lines.

  • In the images obtained from high altitude, several materials are mixed in one pixel and observed as a mixel. It makes difficult to separate the value of pure materials from obtained data. As mixel analysis, various techniques using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and wavelet analysis, etc, were proposed. In this study, we applied to the ICA technique to real data collected by hyperspectral line sensor. Real data came under the influence of several effects regarded as basin on the convolution. We show that combining the ICA method with deconvolution improve it's estimation ability.

  • Finite element method is very effective method to simulate the forming processes with good prediction of the deformation behaviour. For the finite element modeling of sheet mental forming the accurate tool model is required. Due to the geometrical complexity of real-size part stamping tools it is hard to make FE model for real-size auto-body stamping parts. In this paper, it was focussed on the drawability factors on auto-body panel stamping by AUTOFORM with using tool planning alloy to reduce law price as well as high precision from Design Optimization of die. According to this study, the results of simulation will give engineers good information to access the Design Optimization of die.

제주도 고산에서의 대기오염물질 측정 및 분석에 관한 연구 (Analysis Study of Air Pollutants at Kosan, Cheju Island)

  • Measurements of sulfur dioxide, ozone and meteorological parameters at Kosan, Cheju Island show clear indications of the influence of the source areas of both Korean Peninsular and Mainland China. Monthly mean levels in February of $SO_2$ and $O_3$ were 1.4 and 44 ppb, respectively. These Values are 2-30 times higher than those measured in remote are as such as Bermuda Island and Uto Island in Finland. Ozone loss in February and March were found to be 0.2 and 0.36 ppb/hr and correlation coefficient between ozone and solar radiation was 0.48. Also it was found that $SO_2$ levels were more than 2 times higher when the prevailing winds from WSW-NNE than from the rest.

  • In this study, unattended Light Rail Transit System (K-AGT) is a general-purpose standards safety requirements of IEC 62267 based System Engineering Process (SEP) was used. Functional analysis and physical architecting for each requirements through the vehicle was classified into sub-systems, design was analyzed in terms of SE. The analysis of the proposed system engineering process, unattended train operation (UTO), driverless train operation(DTO) design of the safety measures to be used as the basis is studied.
