다중브리지로 구성된 UPQC(Unified Power Quality Conditioner)의 동적 성능분석 (Dynamic Performance Analysis of Unified Power Quality Conditioner with Cascaded H-Bridges)

  • This paper describes experimental analysis of UPQC, which is composed of cascaded H-bridges and single-phase multi-winding transformers. The operational characteristic was analyzed through experimental works with a scaled model, and simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC. The UPQC proposed in this paper can be directly connected to the distribution line without series injection transformers. It has flexibility to expand the operation voltage by increasing the number of H-bridge modules. The analysis results can be utilized to design the actual UPQC system applicable for the actual distribution system.

  • 전압과 전류에 민감한 장치설비에 대해 통합적으로 전력품질을 개선할 수 있는 3상 UPQC(Unified Power Quality Conditioner)는 전압의 변동을 보상하는 직렬형 인버터와 전류의 고조파를 보상하는 병렬형 인버터로 구성된다. 본 연구의 주안점은 종전의 3상 UPQC의 직렬형 인버터와 병렬형 인버터에 Z-소스 토폴로지를 적용하는 것이다. Z-소스 인버터의 shoot-through제어를 위해서는 simple boost control을 사용하였으며 shoot-through제어에 의하여 Z-소스 네트워크의 직류전압이 제어 가능하였다. 과도상태와 정상상태에서 전압과 전류 조건에 대한 PSIM시뮬레이션에 의해 제안된 시스템의 타당성을 확인할 수 있었다.

A Simplified Control Algorithm for Three-Phase, Four-Wire Unified Power Quality Conditioner

  • In this paper, a simplified control algorithm for a three-phase, four-wire unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) is presented to compensate for supply voltage distortions/unbalance, supply current harmonics, the supply neutral current, the reactive power and the load unbalance as well as to maintain zero voltage regulation (ZVR) at the point of common coupling (PCC). The UPQC is realized by the integration of series and shunt active filters (AFs) sharing a common dc bus capacitor. The shunt AF is realized using a three-phase, four leg voltage source inverter (VSI) and the series AF is realized using a three-phase, three leg VSI. A dynamic model of the UPQC is developed in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment and the simulation results demonstrating the power quality improvement in the system are presented for different supply and load conditions.

  • A novel UPQC(Unified Power Quality Conditioner), which consists of series inverter, shunt inverter, distributed generation system, is proposed. The proposing system can compensate reactive power, harmonics, voltage sag and swell, voltage interruption etc. through the change of paralleling operation mode and islanding operation mode. The control strategy for the proposing system was derived using the instantaneous power method. The performance of proposing system was analyzed by means of the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation and the experimental work with the hardware prototype. The proposing system has the ultimate capability of improving power quality at the point of installation on power distribution systems or Industrial power systems and can be utilized for the custom power device in th future distribution system.

  • This paper proposes a single-phase unified power quality conditioner (S-UPQC) for maintaining power quality issues in a microgrid. The S-UPQC can compensate the voltage and current harmonics, voltage sag, and swell as a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR), regardless of variations in the grid frequency. Odd harmonics are treated as even-order harmonics in a rotating frame to implement the harmonic compensators with only one repetitive controller (RC) without any harmonic extractor. The dynamic performance is improved and the delay time is reduced in the RC. The S-UPQC control scheme is designed to maintain accurate and stable operation under deviations of the grid frequency by using the Lagrange interpolation-based finite-impulse-response (LIFIR) filter approximation method. The proposed control schemes were validated through a simulation and experiment.

통합 전력품질 제어기의 과전류 보호방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Over Current Protection Method of Unified Power Quality Conditioners)

  • 본 논문에서는 직렬형, 병렬형 능동전력필터로 구성되어 있는 통합전력품질 제어기(UPQC)의 과전류에 대한 보호기법이 제시되며, 해석된다. 제안된 과전류 보호기법은 직렬형 능동전력필터에 과전류의 기본파 성분에 대해서고 임피던스를 갖는 기능을 부여함으로써 구현하였으며, 세 가지 방법을 제시하였다. 첫 번째 방법은 p-q이론을 이용하여 기본파 전원전류를 검출하여 보호하는 방법, 두 번째 방법은 동기 좌표계에서 부하전류의 기본파 성분을 검출하여 보호하는 방법, 세 번째 방법은 입력전압을 검출하여 보호하는 방법이다. 전원계통에서 과전류가 흘렀을 경우 제안된 방법들은 UPQC에 부가적인 회로 없이 보호해 줄 수 있다. 제안된 방법의 타당성은 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 입증된다.

A Novel Control Strategy of Three-phase, Four-wire UPQC for Power Quality Improvement

  • The current paper presents a novel control strategy of a three-phase, four-wire Unified Power Quality (UPQC) to improve power quality. The UPQC is realized by the integration of series and shunt active power filters (APF) sharing a common dc bus capacitor. The realization of shunt APF is carried out using a three-phase, four-leg Voltage Source Inverter (VSI), and the series APF is realized using a three-phase, three-leg VSI. To extract the fundamental source voltages as reference signals for series APF, a zero-crossing detector and sample-and-hold circuits are used. For the control of shunt APF, a simple scheme based on the real component of fundamental load current (I $Cos{\Phi}$) with reduced numbers of current sensors is applied. The performance of the applied control algorithm is evaluated in terms of power-factor correction, source neutral current mitigation, load balancing, and mitigation of voltage and current harmonics in a three-phase, four-wire distribution system for different combinations of linear and non-linear loads. The reference signals and sensed signals are used in a hysteresis controller to generate switching signals for shunt and series APFs. In this proposed UPQC control scheme, the current/voltage control is applied to the fundamental supply currents/voltages instead of fast-changing APF currents/voltages, thus reducing the computational delay and the required sensors. MATLAB/Simulink-based simulations that support the functionality of the UPQC are obtained.

교류철도급전계통에 전력품질보상장치 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of UPQC in AC Railway System)

  • 전기 철도계통은 기존 전력계통과 달리 단상, 대용량 부하로 필연적으로 전압강하, 전압불평형 및 고조파 왜곡 등의 전력품질의 문제가 발생한다. 최근 철도계통의 전력품질문제는 철도차량 및 시스템의 제어 및 안전 때문에 중요한 화두가 되고 있다. 이는 또한 기존 전력계통의 전력품질에도 영향을 미친다 본 논문에서는 전기철도 급전시스템에 발생하는 전력품질문제의 보상에 관한 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내 교류전기철도 표준 급전방식인 AT(Auto Transformer)급전시스템, 철도급전변압기인 스콧트 변압기(Scott Transformer), AT변압기, 철도선로 및 철도 차량부하를 모델링 하였다. 과도응답은 전자기과도해석 프로그램인 PSCAD/EMTDC를 사용하여 해석 하였다. 또한 전력품질을 보상하기위한 방안으로 급전선-전차선에 설치되는 전력품질보상기(Unified Power Quality Conditioner : UPQC)를 제안하였고 이의 성능 및 유효성을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • In recent years, customers and power supplies are interested in power quality. Demands of customers are change from standard quality of distribution power system to various high quality of distribution power system. so, it is necessary to apply power quality compensator. in our project, we develop the UPQC(Unfied Power Quality Compensator of 45kVA which compensates power factor and voltage sag, interruption. it is very frequently occurred power quality $problems^{[1-3]}$ As a series and shunt compensator, UPQC consists of two inverters with common do link capacitor bank. It compensates the current quality in the shunt part and the voltage quality in the series part. In this paper, we present the design and control algorithm for 4SkVA UPQC system. As a control algorithm is implemented by digital controller, we consider sample-and-hold of signals. In this simulation, we use EMTDC/PSCAD V3.0 software which can simulate instantaneous voltage and current.
