  • The purpose of interlocking system was to prevent the route for a train being set up and its protecting signal cleared if there was already another, conflicting route set up and the protecting signal for that route cleared. Recently, the computer based control systems instead of conventional relays circuitry are widely used to industrial systems, therefore, interlocking system are rapidly changing from relay interlocking system to computer controlled interlocking system that control requirements of interlocking at junctions using electronic circuits. However, the reliability of interlocking logic for those systems are harder to demonstrate than in traditional relays circuitry because the faults or errors can not be analyzed and predicted to those systems, In this paper, by examine checking technique of computer controlled interlocking system, we will to acquire interlocking inspection algorithm and method for computer controlled interlocking system

System Identification for Structural Vibration of Layered Stone Pagoda System (적층식 석탑의 진동 시스템 인식)

  • This study proposes a numerical model to explain the closely placed double modes in the vibration of a layered stone pagoda system. The friction surface between the stones is modelled as the Timoshenko finite element while each stone layer is modelled as a rigid body. It is assumed that the irregular asperity on the friction surface enables the stone to be excited. This results in the closely placed modes that are composed of natural modes and self-excited modes. To examine the validity of the proposed model, a set of modal testing and analysis for a layered stone pagoda mock-up model has been conducted and a set of closely placed double modes are extracted. Applying the extended sensitivity-based system identification technique, the various system parameters are identified so that the modal parameters of the proposed numerical model are the same with those of the experimental mock-up. For a horizontal impulse excitation, the simulated acceleration responses are compared with measurements.

  • The purpose of interlocking system was to prevent the route for a train being set up and its protecting signal cleared if there was already another, conflicting route set up and the protecting signal for that route cleared. This paper proposed Interlocking Inspection System(IIS) consisting of interlocking simulator and field simulator to operate interlocking test of computer based Electronic Interlocking System(EIS) in this paper. Interlocking simulator consists of Design Edit System(DES), Logical Database Management Tool(LDMT) and real-time confirming system, field simulator is a equipment to simulate a control object of EIS and constitutes configuration operated in 19 inch standard rack. As a result of test to prove capacity of this IIS, the efficiency was shown as excellent. Therefore by using inspection system, we obtain every advantages. It has the functions for test data generation and automatic test execution based on personal computer. Time and cost for test work can be reduced more efficiently by using this developed inspection system

  • This paper summarize about the auxiliary electrode measured a ground resistance The method to measure a ground resistance is the fall-of-potential method to using an auxiliary electrode. And an auxiliary electrode must be set up on the ground. Today it is so difficult to set up the auxiliary electrode on the ground because of many concrete building and many paved roads. So this paper is regarding of the ground resistance measurement by the substitute auxiliary electrode. It substituted a iron structure around the building, a wire net for auxiliary electrode. This information is confirmed by compared with the measurement value.

  • The key feature of GMPLS is the provision of network resources and the automatic set-up of a path. And the mechanism of protection and restoration of a path is presented when network component fails. This paper suggests CR-LDP Static Detour Mechanism and Dynamic Detour Mechanism. CR-LDP Detours are a mechanism to set up detour paths automatically at every node to protect working path. Hence suggested mechanism performance is compared with existing mechanisms by computer simulation.

  • The objectives of this study were to identify current problems and to propose alternatives of woodworking education in school. This study was carried out through the literature review. Even though woodworking in school has a lot of merits, it has not been fully established yet. Current problems in school woodworking were identified as the absence of educational philosophy of woodworking, unambiguous education objectives, incongruity of educational contents and hierarchy, inadequate quality of teachers, poor surroundings for practice, lack of ancillary materials for teaching and learning, and the absence of community for interchanging information. It was proposed that educational philosophy of woodworking and concrete education objectives should be set up, educational contents should be organized in a proper level, and surroundings for practice should be improved. And, it was also proposed that teacher education should be made to upgrade qualities of teachers, ancillary materials for teaching and learning should be developed, and community for interchanging information should be set up.

  • Experimental set-up for the characterization of Shape Memory Alloys springs which are applicacable to endoscope has been implemented. Fundamental properties of SMA springs were measured by iso-thermal test iso-metric test, iso-tonic test and the relationship between stress and strain, temperature and generated force, displacement and temperature could be characterized experimentally. The implemented experimental set-up and characterization method can be exploited for the design of SMA springs and evaluation of actuators used in endoscope.

  • We designed a new experimental set-up for measuring activity of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. Using this set-up, we studied reduction of carbon dioxide by carbon dioxide reforming of methane (CRM) using nickel powder as catalyst. The properties of the catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer, Emmett & Teller (BET) surface area and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. The reactivity experiments were performed in the temperature range of $300\;-\;500^{\circ}C$. At reactivity experiment, result showed consumption of $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ with a 1:1 stoichiometry. At the same time, carbon monoxide and hydrogen were produced, which could be used for synthesizing fuels such as methanol. During the reaction, deposition of carbon on Ni was observed, which caused deactivation of the catalyst.

  • In this paper, a design optimization technique is presented for determining the stiffness and the damping coefficient of the shock absorber that is used in the Gullwing door system of passenger car. The contact force between the shock absorber and stopper link, when the door is opened, is set up as objective function, and the stiffness and the damping coefficient are set up as design variables. ADAMS optimization module (SQP method) is applied in the design optimization process. This study shows that the stiffness and the damping coefficient of the shock absorber can be effectively determined in initial design stage of the Gullwing door.
