Much research has been conducted to describe metrics for UML models by extending OCL that was proposed to define structural constraints. However, metrics descriptions in OCL are complex, so they are very difficult to understand. This paper defines MDL4UML by abstracting the conventional OCL. By abstracting OCL constructs, the MDL4UML can produce simpler descriptions of metrics, which can help metrics designer to understand and describe metrics.

OCL was used in the UML Semantics document to specify the well-formedness rules of the UML metarmodel. UML was extended to apply it to system developments of several fields, for example real-time UML and web applications with UML. In particular the dependability is important in designing and building hard real-time system. Thus OCL is needed to express real-time UML formally and so it must extended. In this paper, we extend OCL to define event-driven real-time OCL to the development of Nrcl simulator.

Software architecture is the high level model of a software system. It should be specified with ADLs (Architecture Description Languages) for its clarity and preciseness. Most ADLs such as C2SADL have not come into extensive use in industries since ADL users should learn a distinct notation specific to architecture, and ADLs do not address all stakes of the development process that is becoming diversified everyday. On the other hand, UML is a do facto standard general modeling language for software developments. UML provides a consistent notation and various supporting tools during the whole software development cycle. But, UML is a general modeling language and does not provide all concepts that are important to architecture description. UML should be extended in order to precisely model architecture. In this paper, we defined a C2 architecture modeling language as a UML2.0 profile. We applied the defined C2 architecture modeling language to the modeling of a restaurant reservation system.

본 논문에서는 UML을 이용하여 소프트웨어 아키텍처를 표현하는 방법을 소개하고, 복수의 뷰를 통한 아키텍처를 문서화하는 방법을 설명한다. 무엇보다 논문의 핵심은 UML의 다이어그램이 복잡하여 특별한 편집도구 없이는 표현이 불가능한 점을 반영하여, UML의 표현방법을 개선하고 이를 아키텍처뷰의 표현에 적용한 점이라고 할 수 있다.

현재까지는 실시간 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발을 위한 효율적인 소프트웨어 모델링 언어가 부족하다. 그런데 모델 자체가 코드처럼 수행 가능한 통합 모델링언어를 xUML(Executable UML)이라 한다[2,4,7]. 이는 기존의 UML x.x에 실행과 관련된 개념과 시간에 관련된 규칙을 더한 것이다. 다시 말해 xUML의 모델은 실행과 테스트, 디버깅이 가능하다[2,4]. 본 논문에서는 기존의 UML x.x버전들과 xUML이 실시간 임베디드 소프트웨어를 모델링 하는데 적합한지를 비교/분석한 후, 임베디드 소프트웨어 모델링에 xUML을 적용하고자 부족한 면을 보완 및 확장하였다. 확장된 xUML의 노테이션은 병렬과 실시간 처리까지도 표현이 가능하도록 제안하였다. 사례 연구로서 두개의 터치센서로 동작하는 실시간 임베디드 시스템의 모델링을 보여준다.

UML 모델을 사용하는 다양한 곳에서 UML 메타모델을 준수하면 많은 이점을 가진다. 하지만 UML 메타모델 자체 규모가 점점 거대해지고 있으며 UML 메타 모델을 사용하는 다양한 곳에서도 UML 메타모델의 일부분만을 필요로 하는 경우도 있다. 즉, UML 메타모델에서 사용하고자 하는 특정 요소들만을 추출하여 사용할 필요가 있다. UML 메타모델의 특정 부분만을 추출하여 사용함으로써 UML 모델링 도구나 분석도구를 좀더 쉽고 가볍게 개발할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 UML 메타모델에서 특정 다이어그램 요소만을 추출하기 위한 슬라이싱 알고리즘을 제시하고 실제로 적용한 결과를 보여준다.

UML is an object-oriented development methodology to graphically modeling, a software system, We are developed UML, graphics editor and its generating various design objects during software development cycle. Its design object compose of semantics information and View information manage using of RDBMS. Extant tools supporting UDML. however, it does not have an explicit format to describe and interchange its design abject intentionally, In this thesis, to overcome the drawback, the UML design object interchange and presents our efforts to make UML design objects highly interoperable. We developed an interchange format called UDXF(UML Design object exchange Format) based on XML UDXF is a simple and well-structured format to encode UML design objects. It leverages the tool interoperability, team development and reuse of design objects by interchanging the model information with the XML standard. Also, we propose design object repository manager for design object of UDXF format.

Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a standard language for specifying, visualizing, constructing, and documenting the artifacts of software systems. It simplifies the complex process of software design, making a blueprint for construction. In this paper, we apply automated application generation tools such as Rational Rose and BizWiz to a realistic cyber shopping mall and then compare and analyze them in the view of UML. We also propose some methods for the systematic system analysis, design, and implementation by applying UML to a customer management system based on above results.

This paper presents the establishment of the information of metadata for an Authorization tool of UML class diagram. When it comes to modeling classes in UML class diagram, the paper defines expressed classes and the relationship. The class represents the concept of an object, which defines Name, Attribute and Operation. The relationship is between classes, which defines the name and the type of the Relationship, From Class and To Class. And it suggests how to handle and process the information of metadata for an authorization tool of UML class diagram.

이클립스의 UML2 와 GMF 프로젝트는 UML 다이어그램 편집기를 개발하는데 있어서 기본적인 프레임워크를 지원한다. 일반적으로 UML 을 이용하여 시스템을 설계할 때에는 여러 가지의 다이어 그램을 제작하게 되는데, 이때 각 다이어그램간의 일관성을 유지시키는 것과 설계된 모델에 대한 시뮬레이션은 아주 중요한 기능요소이다. 이 논문에서는 이클립스의 UML2 와 GMF 를 기반으로 한 UML 다이어그램 시뮬레이션 프레임워크를 제안한다.
