  • The learning and cognition of preschool children begins with the color of the object, and the game interface is the child's first impression of the game, so reasonable color design is needed. This article selects 10 educational mobile game for preschool children, extracts colors from the game interface and startup icons, and puts them into Photoshop to analyze the three elements of color hue, lightness, and saturation. Finally, three suggestions are put forward for the color design of game UI. 1.Choose a color similar to the actual color of the thing. 2. Choose warm colors according to your child's preferences. 3. When using contrasting colors, please reduce the brightness or purity of the colors. It is hoped that the research conclusions can provide reference materials for the color design of educational game UI for preschool children.

  • Seoul Metropolitan Government has performed alternative transit system, light rail transit(LRT), for settling the problems of urban public transit system based on conventional bus service and heavy rail transit(HRT). LRT projects of total 8 lines(about 73.6km), including Ui-Sinseol line, have been planned as Build-Transfer-Operate(BTO) projects. For the first LRT, Ui-Sinseol line, however, design of structure had met standard for design of HRT, because of no domestic design code for LRT when participates of Ui-Sinseol project submitted the design proposal. This case study reports a successful example of LRT design minimizing the scale of stations designed in base of HRT code. The problems, like oversized structures compared with LRT vehicles, excessive costs for construction, had been resolved through negotiations with the participates of Ui-Sinseol line. Result suggests that present and future costs for construction and maintenance of the LRT projects in Seoul be considerably reduced in advance.

  • This study aims to examine the field of UI/UX being actively adopted in this new media age, investigate and analyze homepages targeting national universities in Korea, and attempt diverse researches on UI/UX applied to mobile webs. First of all, the paper comparatively analyzed PC webs, mobile webs, and mobile apps, investigated the current status of Korean national university homepages, comparatively examined the expressions and use of PC webs and mobile webs in those universities, and analyzed to what extent a certain university's mobile web was applied to the principle of UI/UX. According to the result of this research, most of the mobile web pages considerably lack in user-oriented design applying UI/UX, and it will be needed to optimize a vast amount of data on PC webs for better expression. Moreover, this study intends to figure out ways to apply user experience to be applied to mobile web design by suggesting directions for UI/UX design.

  • Macro interface is primarily focused at the organization, while micro interface is primarily focused at the products or services. UI(User Interface) or UX(User Experience) organizations in Korea are institutionalized from 2000 years. Since most of the UI organizations are not institutionalized with the strategic plan, structures of them aren't optimized efficiency. The structure of the organization is conceptualized as having three core dimensions: complexity, formalization, and centralization. The status of the UI organizations in Korea is reviewed with these dimensions. This study issued the key success factors for institutionalization for UI team. Organizational maturity is considered in 5 levels based on a model by CMMI. The UI strategy has to be based the maturity level of the organization.

  • For the development of application program on mobile device, standardized visual UI is very important to user in addition to functional implementation of service. The UI can give not only more convenient usage to consumer but also an positive impact on the marketing of manufacture or vendor. Generally, in order to make a good UI style, the development of application program should have consistency between most of developers and sometimes require the unique style. But it is difficult to satisfy the requirement by only oneself development of application program. In this paper, we suggests the design of graphic middleware, which helps to make consistent and unique UI style. It can be used for the design of all applications to be included in the mobile device.

  • The current user interface (UI) of NEIS school affairs business system is not efficient in conducting the business because of complicated data input forms as well as unharmonious connection between similar items and functional menu. In the paper, the term UI means a comprehensive concept including input/output, input/output related functionality, and menu configuration for users to perform their tasks. The first survey, carried out with one hundred teachers at three elementary schools of Kyeonggi-do, shows that the UI problems of the system are manual inputs, inconvenient menu configuration, disconnection between academic calendar and educational process, complexities of managing attendance report and curriculum evaluation, etc. We have improved the UI design by providing more efficient input method and more systematic menu configuration compared to the current system, and then evaluated the design through the second survey. Evaluation results show that users prefer the proposed UI design especially from the viewpoint of user-friendly input interface and user-oriented view composition.
