With the introduction of the ubiquitous technology, the housing culture centers of construction companies have demonstrated future housing image and technology. However, ubiquitous home services are technology oriented items. The purpose of this study was to identify u- services which were realized in domestic future housing and to compare those with services the residents needed greatly refer to researches related to demand for u-service. For this study, field studies were conducted with 3 domestic future housings and precedent studies on demand for u-service were analyzed according to the standard of residents' demand. The results of the study showed that residents prefer u-services for security and control of indoor environment for housework and leisure life. As a result, u-services which residents needed mainly did not correspond with those that were displayed in future housing.

This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. This furniture and built-in machine will get a communication ability with user in the living and kitchen space. And it will include a high technology like as RFID, home network and so on.

The ubiquitous environment is to support people in their everyday life in an inconspicuous and unobtrusive way. This requires that information of the person and her preferences, liking, and habits are available in the ubiquitous system. In this paper, we propose the context aware system that can provide the tailored information service for user in ubiquitous computing environment. The system architecture is composed of 4 domain models that can perform some pre-defined tasks independently. And we suggest the hybrid algorithm combined with fuzzy and Bayesian network to reason what information is suitable for user environment. Finally, we apply to agent based RGA(Research Guide Assistant).

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅이라는 화두가 새로운 국가성장동력으로 부상하면서 이에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 범죄 예방분야의 참여와 대응이 시급한 실정이다. 유비쿼터스란 IT 네트워크가 일상화되는 개념으로 6A(Anytime, Anywhere, Anybody, Anynetwork, Anydevice, Anyservice)의 실현을 기반으로 한다. 이에 IT 기술과 범죄예방분야를 접목하여 ITS를 발전시키고 있듯이, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 범죄예방분야 기술의 접목을 통한 u-범죄예방 개념을 논의해야 할 시점이다.

Over the past two decades following the 1990s, South Korea's IT industry has developed rapidly. In keeping with this trend, the architectural and urban planning sectors have also converged with IT and achieved advancement in new directions. This evolution includes a variety of conceptual terminologies such as 'home automation', ''home network', 'smart home, and 'ubiquitous-city'. However, smart homes and U-cities simply represent a conceptual extension of home networks, and there is little real difference in the technologies involved. In particular, U-cities remain focused on infrastructure rather than on the development of specific content; consequently, they have failed to demonstrate distinctive features to clearly differentiate themselves from conventional cities. In such a context, this research aims at the proposal of a 'ubiquitous pavilion' as a component of the efforts to develop a range of architectural contents that utilize ubiquitous technologies. By grafting the pavilion, one of the most basic forms in architecture, with cutting-edge ubiquitous technologies, this paper intends to suggest a multi-purpose architectural space readily and simply available not only in newly emerging U-cities, but to conventional cities as well.

최근 들어 새로운 사회 패러다임으로 등장하고 있는 유비쿼터스 환경에 발맞추어 교육 분야에서도 beyond e-learning이라는 유비쿼터스 러닝이라는 개념이 대두되고 있다. IT를 통한 교육의 혁신을 초래하게 되는 유비쿼터스 교육은 미래 교육의 비전으로 인정되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 시대의 교육인 유비쿼터스 교육에 대한 개념을 정리하고 현재 유비쿼터스 교육에 대한 동향을 소개하고자 한다. 또한 국내 유비쿼터스 교육의 운영사례를 통하여 시사점을 알아보고자 한다.

Ubiquitous sensor network is to manage and collect information autonomously by communicating user around device. Security requirements in Ubiquitous based on sensor network are as follows: a location of sensor, a restriction of performance by low electric power, communication by broadcasting, etc. We propose new mutual authentication protocol using a low power of sensor node. This protocol solved a low power problem by reducing calculation overload of sensor node using two steps, RM(Register Manager) and AM(Authentication Manager). Many operations performing the sensor node itself have a big overload in low power node. Our protocol reduces the operation number from sensor node. Also it is mutual authentication protocol in Ubiquitous network, which satisfies mutual authentication, session key establishment, user and device authentication, MITM attack, confidentiality, integrity, and is safe the security enemy with solving low electric power problem.

The purpose of this paper is to develop ubiquitous systems based upon individual space in an apartment dwelling, which are called space-based systems in a ubiquitous Apartment. This research investigates the present technology-based ubiquitous systems in apartment design and also include the recent design themes such as 'well-being space' and 'flexible space' to develop Space-Based systems. The proposed the Space-based Systems are concretely applied in a characteristic dwelling unit of stepped level apartment with specific activity scenarios to demonstrate their actual realization. This paper also focuses on 'responsive systems' with automated actuators and sensors as well as on 'flexible infill systems' to accommodate various space needs.

As pervasive computing is widely adopted and reliable networks are becoming more easily accessible, there is a rapidly growing need to develop a mechanism to analyze and evaluate the performance of ubiquitous environments. This paper presents an information processing model which characterizes a ubiquitous environment where a variety of pieces of information need to be exchanged among devices within a system. The proposed model not only provides analytical tools to evaluate the performance of devices, but also makes it possible to identify key factors in designing a ubiquitous environment. For illustrative purposes, a test bed is constructed and the performance of the system is assessed based on the proposed model.

In this work, we have investigated the national economic effects of the ubiquitous industry(UI) for a u-Korea(ubiquitous Korea) project. Since the UI are now playing the more and more important role in Korean economy, it will be very appropriate to provide the policy makers with the accurate and reliable information regarding the role of UI in the national economy. This paper employs input-output analysis to examine the impacts of UI while carefully taking into account the unique situations of Korea. The meaningful results have been obtained by utilizing the rich experiences of the UI. To be more specific, the economic effects of UI on the production-inducing, added value-inducing, export & import-inducing and employments have been addressed in the work.
