중동항로 취항 멤브레인형 LNGC의 BOG 예측에 관한 연구 (Prediction Method of the BOG for the Membrane Type LNGC in Middle East Route)

  • LNG 운반선은 항해중 외부로부터 다량의 열 침임으로 인해 많은 BOG가 발생하며 통상 이는 선박엔진의 연료로 사용된다. 화주의 입장에서 이러한 BOG의 발생과 소비는 화물의 손실을 의미하며, 따라서 선주와 화주 사이에는 BOR(boil off rate)에 대해 만선항해를 기준으로 0.15%/day 이하가 되도록 운송계약을 체결한다. LNG 운반선의 항해사관 입장에서는 자신이 승무하고 있는 선박의 BOR에 대한 정확한 지식을 바탕으로 선박을 운항할 필요가 있으나 실제로는 막연한 경험에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선체온도분포 및 외부로부터의 침입열량에 관한 정밀 열설계 기술을 토대로 본선의 해기사들이 보다 간편하게 BOG를 예측할 수 있는 간단한 모델을 제시하였다. 그리고 개발된 모델을 사용하여 연구대상 선박의 실제 기상조건을 토대로 만선 및 공선항해에 대하여 각각 BOR을 계산하였으며 이를 실측자료와 비교, 검토하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 BOG 예측방법은 현재 운항중인 LNGC에서 BOG를 관리하는 유용한 도구로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

파랑중 손상선박의 거동에 관한 이론적 실험적 연구 (Theoretical and Experimental Studies on Dynamic Behavior of a Damaged Ship in Waves)

  • To improve maritime safety, it is very important not only to make safer design and operation but also to do proper response in case of maritime casualty. The large-scaled casualties will be caused by loss of structural strength and stability due to the progressive flooding and enlargement of damage by the effect of waves and wind. To prevent foundering and structural failure, the prediction of ship motion behavior of damaged ship in wave is necessary. This paper describes the motion behavior of damaged ship in waves through theoretical and experimental studies. A time domain theoretical model of damaged ship motions and accidental flooding, which can be applied to any type of ship or arrangement and considers the effects of flooding of compartments, has been developed. The model tests have been carried out in regular and irregular waves with different wave heights and directions in ship motion basin. Those were performed for three different damaged conditions such as engine room bottom damage, side shell damage and bow visor damage of a Ro-Ro ship. Comparison of theoretical and experimental results was performed.

A novel approach of ship wakes target classification based on the LBP-IBPANN algorithm

  • The detection of ship wakes image can demonstrate substantial information regarding on a ship, such as its tonnage, type, direction, and speed of movement. Consequently, the wake target recognition is a favorable way for ship identification. This paper proposes a Local Binary Pattern (LBP) approach to extract image features (wakes) for training an Improved Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network (IBPANN) to identify ship speed. This method is applied to sort and recognize the ship wakes of five different speeds images, the result shows that the detection accuracy is satisfied as expected, the average correctness rates of wakes target recognition at the five speeds may be achieved over 80%. Specifically, the lower ship's speed, the better accurate rate, sometimes it's accuracy could be close to 100%. In addition, one significant feature of this method is that it can receive a higher recognition rate than the nearest neighbor classification method.

  • This paper deals with a problem for determining the bulbous bow ship from which pertains to the study of the theoretical ship form planing method. In this paper has been determined the bulbous bow ship form which is a similar in geometric particulars with the conventional liner ship G.T.10, 000 by adopting the variable method for finding the optimum ship form by A.Y.C. Lee and the streamline tracing method by T. Inui and P.C. Pien. Each resistance performance is examined by the towing test and is compared with one another. The followings are the outcome of this study: Among the 5 type models, the bulbous bow ship form M.S. B 1120 is the most excellent for the resistance performance. The effect for the wave resistance is very sharp according to the difference of the bottom flattening of theoretical ship form. The optimum value of the bulbous bow for wave resistance can be obtained by the variable method mentioned above, and for the series of(Main hull+Bulb)opt., ${\alpha}=75/25$, the value is $f{\approx}0.11$.

  • When navigating at sea, informations like other ship's particular are very important to navigator who should make a safe maneuvering. Most of all is obtained through the optical observation and/or the radiotelephone communication, but it is not easy to perceive them when the visibility is restricted or there is some hardness in communication. In this study, we suggest the algorithm that measures the ship's length and speed on the radar screen and estimates the ship's particular such as gross tonnage, breath and type on the base of above two factors.

  • The main purpose of this study is to develop an watch duty scheduling focused on Korea Navy Ship, PCC class, in port. The watch duty scheduling is a type of a scheduling problem which both considers the readiness of the ship and fair duty for each person. In this study, we analyzed the personal ability and military occupational speciality and developed a manpower scheduling by using heuristic. We find an efficient and effective watch duty schedule which improved results.

A Study on the Analysis and Identification of Seafarers' Skill-Rule-Knowledge Inherent in Maritime Accidents

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the deficient abilities of seafarers into SRK (Skill, Rule, and Knowledge) and analyze and identify the SRK by the type of accident and ship. Experimental data used the SRK cumulative frequency for 1,606 marine accident records and two-way ANOVA and t-test were used for the analysis tools. The results of two-way ANOVA showed that it is possible to identify the deficient abilities by using the cumulative frequency of SRK in both accident and ship types. As a result of the t-test, the adoption of the null hypothesis (H=0) that the mean of two pairs is equal and the rejection of the null hypothesis (H=1) were 29.2 % and 70.8 %, respectively. For the ship type, H=0 is 33.3 % and H=1 is 66.7 %. Through this study, it was found that about 70 % of the deficient abilities of seafarers inherent in maritime accidents can be identified using the proposed method.

변화하는 단면의 문형구조물의 진동계산에 관한 연구 (A study on the vibration calculation method of portal frame structure with variable sections)

  • In this paper, some theoretical equations are derived to calculate natural frequencies and their modes of a portal type derrick system and developed a computer program to carry out their calculations. The ship's structures, such as funnels, upper decks, engine structures, shaft systems suffer local vibrations of the ship. The exciting forces of vibrations are induced by the bearing force and the surface force of propeller or by the main engine. For solving the vibration problem of riggings like the derrick system the natural frequency of its system must be exactly estimated as far as possible and its resonance condition must be kept out of the normal engine operating speed range. When some severe resonances are encountered after the ship's launching, it may be required a tremendous cost to amend their condition. An experimental model of the portal type derrick is made, which is composed of two posts and a truss. This experimental model is excited by an electrical-magnet, and its vibration responses are found out. The calculating results of the model by the developed computer program are compared with those of measured values of model experiment, and they show fairly good agreements.

회귀분석법에 의한 선박 소음 예측에 관한 연구 (Application of Multiple Regression Method to Prediction of Noise Level in Ship Cabins)

  • 본 연구에서는 선박의 초기 설계시에 비교적 간단한 자료로 각 선실에서의 소음수준을 예측하기 위한 방법으로 다중 회귀 분석법에 근거한 통계적 접근을 시도하였다. 선실에서의 소음수준에 영향을 미치는 여러 변수중에서, 선종, 재화중량, 주기관과 선실의 위치, 거주구 형상, 선실의 종류 및 프로펠러 스큐등이 최종 회귀식에 포함되었다. 회귀식의 추출시 사용하지 않은 6척 210개 선실에 대하여 검증을 실시한 결과, 77%의 선실이 3 dB 이내의 오차범위에 있음을 확인하였다.
