2상 유동 내 관군에서의 압력 손실 (Pressure Loss across Tube Bundles in Two-phase Flow)

  • 수평 관군에 대하여 수직이고 상향으로 흐르는 2상 유동에 의한 감쇠비를 예측하기 위한 해석모델이 Sim에 의하여 개발되었다. 이 모델에서 평가된 2상 유동의 기공률, 압력손실 등의 유동변수는 기존의 실험식을 사용하여 계산하였다. 그러나 관군의 경우에 사용하기에는 약간의 개선이 요구된다. 따라서 관군 내에 흐르는 2상 유동의 유동 변수에 대한 더 많은 정보를 획득하기 위하여 실험적으로 연구할 필요가 있다. 실험은 공기 - 물의 2상 유동이 흐르는 정사각형 배열 관군에서의 압력계수와 2상 유동 마찰승수를 계산하기 위하여 수행되었다. 피치 직경 비는 1.35이었고, 실린더의 직경은 18 mm이다. 압력센서와 신호처리 장치를 이용하여 관군에서의 압력차를 측정하였다. 2상 유동 마찰승수와 오일러수를 계산하기 위하여 관군에 적용되는 비균질 유동의 기공률은 Feenstra 등의 실험식을 사용하여 계산하였다. 균질과 비균질 2상 유동의 마찰승수와 오일러의 수를 실험적으로 구하고 Sim의 어림적 모델에 근거한 이론적 해석 결과와 비교 분석하였다.

Free vibration analysis of trapezoidal Double Layered plates embedded with viscoelastic medium for general boundary conditions using differential quadrature method

  • This paper studies the free vibration behavior of trapezoidal shaped coupled double-layered graphene sheets (DLGS) system using first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and incorporating nonlocal elasticity theory. Two nanoplates are assumed to be bonded by an interlayer van der walls force and surrounded by an external kelvin-voight viscoelastic medium. The governing equations together with related boundary condition are discretized using a mapping-differential quadrature method (DQM) in the spatial domain. Then the natural frequency of the system is obtained by solving the eigen value matrix equation. The validity of the current study is evaluated by comparing its numerical results with those available in the literature and then a parametric study is thoroughly performed, concentrating on the series effects of angles and aspect ratio of GS, viscoelastic medium, and nonlocal parameter. The model is used to study the vibration of DLGS for two typical deformation modes, the in-phase and out-of-phase vibrations, which are investigated. Numerical results indicate that due to Increasing the damping parameter of the viscoelastic medium has reduced the frequency of both modes and this medium has been able to overdamped the oscillations and by increasing stiffness parameters both in-phase and out-of-phase vibration frequencies increased.

Stress analysis of a two-phase composite having a negative-stiffness inclusion in two dimensions

  • Recent development in composites containing phase-transforming particles, such as vanadium dioxide or barium titanate, reveals the overall stiffness and viscoelastic damping of the composites may be unbounded (Lakes et al. 2001, Jaglinski et al. 2007). Negative stiffness is induced from phase transformation predicted by the Landau phase transformation theory. Although this unbounded phenomenon is theoretically supported with the composite homogenization theory, detailed stress analyses of the composites are still lacking. In this work, we analyze the stress distribution of the Hashin-Shtrikman (HS) composite and its two-dimensional variant, namely a circular inclusion in a square plate, under the assumption that the Young's modulus of the inclusion is negative. Assumption of negative stiffness is a priori in the present analysis. For stress analysis, a closed form solution for the HS model and finite element solutions for the 2D composite are presented. A static loading condition is adopted to estimate the effective modulus of the composites by the ratio of stress to average strain on the loading edges. It is found that the interfacial stresses between the circular inclusion and matrix increase dramatically when the negative stiffness is so tuned that overall stiffness is unbounded. Furthermore, it is found that stress distributions in the inclusion are not uniform, contrary to Eshelby's theorem, which states, for two-phase, infinite composites, the inclusion's stress distribution is uniform when the shape of the inclusion has higher symmetry than an ellipse. The stability of the composites is discussed from the viewpoint of deterioration of perfect interface conditions due to excessive interfacial stresses.

A study on vibration characteristics and tuning of smart cantilevered beams featuring an electo-rheological fulid

  • Electro-Rheological(ER) fluids undergo a phase-change when subjected to an external electic field, and this phase-change typically manifests itself as a many-order-of-magnitude change in the rheological behavior. This phenomenon permits the global stiffness and energy- dissipation properties of the beam structures to be tuned in order to synthesize the desired vibration characteristics. This paper reports on a proof-of-concept experimental investigation focussed on evaluation the vibration properties of hollow cantilevered beams filled with an ER fluid. and consequently deriving an empirical model for predicting field-dependent vibration characteristics. A hydrous-based ER fluid consisting of corn starch and silicone oil is employed. The beams are considered to be uniform viscoelastic materials and modelled as a viscously-damped harmonic oscillator. Natural frequency, damping ratio and elastic modulus are evaluated with respect to the electric field and compared among three different beams: two types of different volume fraction of ER fluid and one type of different particle concentration of ER fluid by weight. Transient and forced vibration responses are examined in time domain to demonstrate the validity of the proposed empirical model and to evaluate the feasibility of using the ERfluid as an actuator in a closed-loop control system.

  • 낙동강은 유역이 약 2.4 $10^{4}$$\textrm{km}^2$ 이고 길이가 525km에 달하는 대하천으로 농업, 공업, 생활용수 등 영남지방의 용수 공급원으로서 중요하다. 최근에는 하구역 에서 천해어장, 홍수대책, 하도개수, 간척, 매립 등 다양한 이용개발이 계획 또는 실시 되고 있다. 따라서 이 하구역의 효육적 이용과 관리를 위하여는 하구수의 유동을 지배하는 요인인 하천조석에 관한 기초적인 연구가 불가결하다.

규칙파(規則波)에 놓인 구(球)의 수평운동(水平運動)에 대(對)한 해석(解析) (On the Surge Motion of a Freely-Floating Sphere in a Plane Progressive Wave)

  • The surge motion of a freely-floating sphere in a regular wave is studied within the framework of a linear potential theory. The fluid is assumed to be perfect and only the steady-state harmonic motion in a water of infinite depth is considered. A velocity potential describing the fluid motion is decomposed into three parts; the incident wave potential, the diffraction potential and the radiation potential. In this paper the diffraction potential and the radiation potential are analysed by using multipole expansion method. Upon calculating pressures over the immersed surface of the sphere, the hydrodynamic forces are evaluated in terms of Froude-Krylov, diffraction, added mass and damping forces as functions of the frequency of the incident wave. Finally the frequency dependence of two pertinent parameters, the amplitude ratio and the phase lag between the motion of the sphere and that of the incident wave is derived from the equation of motion. As for numerical results the general tendency of the present calculation shows good agreement with Kim's work who also treated this problem utilizing the Green's function method.

  • 건축구조물의 진동제어 시스템의 안정성과 효율성은 대상 시스템의 수학적 모델의 정확성에 크게 좌우 된다. 본 연구에서는 3층의 축소 건물모델과 소형 AMD(active mass damper)를 대상으로 각각의 상태방정식 모델을 시간영역에서의 시스템 식별 기법인 OKID(observer/Kalman filter identification)를 대상으로 각각의 상태방정식 모델을 시간영역에서의 시스템 식별 기법인 입력과 AMD의 이동질량체의 설치층에 대한 상대가속도 입력에 대하여 시스템 식별을 개별적으로 수행한 뒤 두 개의 상태방정식을 모델 응축 과정을 통해 통합하였다. AMD의 시스템 식별은 모터제어 신호를 입력으로 AMD 이동질량의 설치층에 대한 상대가속도를 출력으로 선정하여 수행하였으며 큰 감쇠비와 위상지연 현상을 확인할 수 있었다 결과적으로 얻어진 건물 모델 및 AMD의 이동질량의 설치층에 대한 상대가속도를 출력으로 선정하여 수행하였으며 큰 감쇠비와 위상지연 현상을 확인할수 있었다. 결과적으로 얻어진 건물 모델 및 AMD의 상태방정식 모델로부터 재구성한 전달함수와 시간이력은 실험에서의 측정치와 잘 일치하였다.
