케이블 니팅의 표현 유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Expression Types of Cable Knitting)

  • Cable knitting, one of the most representative structures of knitwear has been applied to a number of knit items in a variety of expressions every season. The purpose of this study is to analyze the various types of expressions applied with cable knitting techniques to make the necessary data for planning cable knit designs. The types of cable knitting were devide into two categories which are based on the cable knitting pattern and structure. Based on the pattern, firstly, formal type is a reproduction of traditional Aran knit style and is usually applied to a practical and comfortable timeless knit product. Secondly, informal type is irregular applied to patterns and directions to highlight the dynamics of cable patterns. Thirdly, contrasting type emphasizes the cable pattern by contrasting the color of the part of the cable pattern. Fourthly, figurative type is the expression of the conceptual motifs and using the cable knit pattern itself as motif. Based on the structure, firstly, open type is to emphasize patterns and spaces by utilizing open spaces created by the intersection of cabling stitches. Secondly, decorative type is to enhance the ornamental effect of cable knitting by various methods and other subsidiary materials. Thirdly, avant-garde type is applied in various ways with exaggerated volumes or textures using the three-dimensional effects of cable knitting. Through this study, we look forward to the possibility of expressing the unique aesthetic characteristics of each of the various knitting techniques.

A Study on Character Design Using [Midjourney] Application

  • In recent years, the emergence of a number of AI image generation software represented by [Midjourney] has brought great impetus to the development of the field of AI-assisted art creation. Compared with the traditional hand-painted digital painting with the aid of electronic equipment, broke the traditional sense of animation character creation logic.This paper analyzes the application of AI technology in the field of animation character design through the practice of two-dimensional animation character . This is having a significant impact on the productivity and innovation of animation design and character modeling. The key results of the analysis indicate that AI technology, particularly through the utilization of "Midjourney,"enables the automation of certain design tasks, provides innovative approaches, and generates visually appealing and realistic characters. In conclusion, the integration of AI technology, specifically the application of "Midjourney," brings a new dimension to animation character design. The utilization of AI image generation software facilitates streamlined workflows, sparks creativity, and improves the overall quality of animated characters. As the animation industry continues to evolve, AI-assisted tools like "Midjourney" hold great potential for further advancement and innovation.

이마피판술과 후이개부 전층피부이식술을 이용한 안면부 연부조직결손 재건 후 피부 색상의 비교 (Color Analysis of Forehead Flap and Full Thickness Skin Graft in Facial Reconstruction)

  • Purpose: For facial reconstruction, skin color match is crucial to achieve great aesthetic result. Forehead flap and full thickness skin graft have been used for many years to reconstruct facial defect. Their results are aesthetically valuable with remarkable resemblance and harmony of the skin color between donor and recipient sites. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the aesthetic outcome of the two methods as the analysis of skin color match. Methods: From January 1995 to December 2005, ten forehead flaps and ten full thickness skin grafts were performed. The reconstructed areas of forehead flaps were five noses and five eyelids. Recipient sites of full thickness skin grafts were seven eyelids, two noses and one forehead. In order to obtain the objective validity, the skin color of flap(or graft) and the recipient sites were measured by chromameter. The skin colors were quantified according to a three-dimensional coordinate system used in chromameter, L*(brightness), a*(redness), and b*(yellowness).Results: There was no significant color difference between forehead flap site and adjacent skin in all color values. On the other hand, the L* and b* values of graft sites were significantly lower than those of the adjacent skins. The a* values of graft sites were higher than those of the adjacent skins. Conclusion: This study reveals that skin color match of forehead flap is greater than that of full thickness skin graft. As forehead flap has adequate volume and great color match, it can be useful to reconstruct deep facial defect such as nasal defect. On the other hand, full thickness skin graft can be used for superficial defect like partial eyelid defect.

영화 <순수의 시대>의 서사와 회화, 음악에 나타난 공감각적 미학 세계 (Synesthetic Aesthetics in the Narrative, Painting and Music in the Film The Age of Innocence)

  • 이 글은 <순수의 시대>의 서사와 회화, 음악에 나타난 상호텍스트성을 통하여 공감각적 미학 세계를 이해하는 데 연구 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서, 서사와 관련한 회화의 이차원적 상호텍스트성 분석은 Old New York이 소장한 회화, 엘렌이 소장한 회화, 파커 하우스 거리 화가의 초상화, 루브르 미술관의 루벤스 회화 등이 대상이다. 또 서사와 관련한 공연의 삼차원적 상호텍스트성 분석은 구노(Charles F. Gounod)의 <파우스트>가 공연되는 뉴욕 아카데미 오브 뮤직, 부시코(Dion Boucicault)의 <방랑자>가 공연되는 웰랙 극장, 이 두 곳의 무대와 박스석이 대상이다. 다음으로, 서사와 관련한 음악의 상호텍스트성 분석은 베토벤의 피아노 소나타 제8번, 멘델스존의 현악오중주 제2번 등 내재/외재의 클래식과 외재의 번스타인(Elmer Bernstein) 음악이 대상이다. <순수의 시대>의 구성적 사건은 지속되지 않는 사랑과 욕망의 되새김 속에 갇힌 열정을, 보충적 사건은 Old New York의 가부장제 권위가 초래한 사고의 편협과 가치의 전도를 내포한다. 영화 속 인물들은 제한을 받지 않는 표면은 제시하고, 문제가 되는 이면은 은폐하는 이중생활을 한다. 등장인물은 클라이맥스에서도, 엔딩에서도 감정을 노출하지 않으려고 절제한다. 영화에서 가장 강력한 것은 억압적 삶의 유형과 성격인데, 이를 표현하는 데 연기력만으로는 한계가 있어서 회화, 음악 등의 도움으로 내면세계를 더 섬세히 표현한다. <순수의 시대>에 등장하는 회화와 음악의 상호텍스트성은 언어로 표현할 수 없는 미묘한 감정을 연속성으로 강조한다. 마치 각 부분이 이전 부분에 각인된 것 같은 공감각적 이미지를 지니고, 그 연속성으로 "쉼 없이 계속되는 카메라 움직임들과 몽타주 효과에 부응한다." <순수의 시대>에서 에로틱의 역동성은 욕망을 드러내는 일과 그 욕망이 금기에 가려지는 일 사이에서 교묘한 줄타기를 하는 충족과 실망을 오가며 극적 흥분을 최고조로 끌어올린다. 서사와 관련한 회화와 음악이 2차원적 평면과 한정적 프레임의 한계를 극복하는 미학적 성과를 얻었기에 가능한 일이다. <순수의 시대>에서의 동일화는 영화 서사의 시청각적 재현을 통한 공감각적 미학 세계를 구축한 것에 기반을 두고 형성하므로 영화 미학의 가능성을 재발견하는 의의가 크다.

한국 전통 문양을 활용한 국가 브랜드 연구 개발 전략 - 금문(錦紋)을 중심으로 - (National brand development research strategy using traditional Korean patterns)

  • 최근 들어 세계 각국의 컬처노믹스(Culturenomics) 현상이 국가 브랜드 구축에 있어 중요한 핵심적 가치로 작용하고 있다. 말하자면 지구촌 사람들은 저마다 고유한 미의식을 계승하여 이를 경제적으로 활용할 수 있는 문화 산업이 민족의 정체성을 확립하고 그 존재성을 확고히 할 수 있다고 믿고 있는 것이다. 현재 지구촌의 환경 변화에 따른 언택트(untact) 시대에 현대인들은 인터넷상에서 온라인 마케팅을 통해 그 어느 때보다 쉽고 빠르게 품질 좋은 디자인을 선택할 수 있다. 따라서 기업은 자국의 전통미를 간직한 문화적 소산물을 현대적 조형 디자인으로 재해석하려는 이른바 '문화 브랜딩' 전략을 구축하고 '브랜드 아이덴티티'를 확립해야만 고립된 경제에서 벗어날 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 오랜 전통이 담겨 있는 단청 문양 중 금문(錦紋) 패턴을 현대적 조형 디자인으로 재해석하였다. 즉 한국 전통 문양을 활용한 국가 브랜드의 개발 전략을 제시하려는 게 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구자는 그동안 전통 건축의 목 부재를 보호할 목적으로, 그리고 건축의 의장적 성격에 따라 달리 도채(塗彩)되었던 단청 문양을 현대적으로 재조명하고자 하였다. 전통 건축에 채색되는 단청 문양은 궁궐, 사찰, 유교 단청에 따라 문양과 색상을 달리한다. 그 중 금단청에 채색되는 금문(錦紋)은 부처님이 계시는 주불전(主佛殿) 공간을 장엄하기 위한 의장적 요소를 내포하고 있다. 이러한 금문은 과거의 존속이 아니라 현재의 전통성을 이어가는 새로운 매개체라 할 수 있다. 단청의 일부인 금문은 독창적인 구성 방식과 소재, 그리고 장식적인 기법이 뛰어나기 때문에 현대적으로 재해석하기에 적합하다. 또한 동일한 문양이라 할지라도 색상에 따라 시각적으로 달리 해석되는 금문에 내포되어 있는 심미성은 시사하는 바가 크다. 또한 전통 문양은 탐구와 이론적 연구로서의 보전 가치도 중요하지만 이를 현대적 조형 디자인으로 재창조하여 국가 브랜드화하고, 더 나아가 자국민의 자긍심을 높일 수 있는 중요한 수단이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 평면 디자인 과정과 입체적인 조형 방법을 거쳐 전통 문양을 실물처럼 재현하고자 하였다. 과거에 머물러 있는 한국적 조형미가 국가 브랜드 제고에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하기를 기대한다.

Evaluation of the color reproducibility of all-ceramic restorations fabricated by the digital veneering method

  • PURPOSE. The objective of this study was to evaluate the clinical acceptability of all-ceramic crowns fabricated by the digital veneering method vis-$\grave{a}$-vis the traditional method. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Zirconia specimens manufactures by two different manufacturing method, conventional vs digital veneering, with three different thickness (0.3 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm) were prepared for analysis. Color measurement was performed using a spectrophotometer for the prepared specimens. The differences in shade in relation to the build-up method were calculated by quantifying ${\Delta}E^*$ (mean color difference), with the use of color difference equations representing the distance from the measured values $L^*$, $a^*$, and $b^*$, to the three-dimensional space of two colors. Two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) combined with a Tukey multiple-range test was used to analyze the data (${\alpha}$=0.05). RESULTS. In comparing means and standard deviations of $L^*$, $a^*$*, and $b^*$ color values there was no significant difference by the manufacturing method and zirconia core thickness according to a two-way ANOVA. The color differences between two manufacturing methods were in a clinically acceptable range less than or equal to 3.7 in all the specimens. CONCLUSION. Based on the results of this study, a carefully consideration is necessary while selecting upper porcelain materials, even if it is performed on a small scale. However, because the color reproducibility of the digital veneering system was within the clinically acceptable range when comparing with conventional layering system, it was possible to estimate the possibility of successful aesthetic prostheses in the latest technology.

  • 강관은 그 효용성, 디자인적인 심미성, 그리고 건축 기술의 발전으로 건설시장에서 주요 부재로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 많은 불확실성과 다양한 변수들을 다루는 강관 접합부 상용 프로그램이 확고하게 정착되어 있지는 않다. 본 연구에서는 정성분석 프로그램이 소개되어 있으며 그 분석 결과는 2차원적인 영역으로 결과를 제시해 주고 있기 때문에 많은 경험과 지식이 없는 엔지니어들에게 유용한 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다. 실제로 비렌딜 트러스 설계 예제를 통해 캐나다와 국내 규준, 이론해석 결과와의 비교, 그리고 정성분석 프로그램의 예비 설계 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

현대 패션 윈도우 디스플레이에 나타난 자연적 오브제의 조형적 특성 (Formative Characteristics of Natural Objets in Contemporary Fashion Window Display)

  • This study considers direction types and formative characteristics by analyzing natural objets in contemporary fashion window display. The research methods are both literature review and content analysis based on images of contemporary fashion window display. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the direction types of natural objets in contemporary fashion window display expand objective outlines by maximizing the morphological form of objects. Second, a rhythmic sense expressed through a gradual repetition of patterns or a sequential arrangement of natural objects. Third, it represents a reversal of image accomplished through a modification of material on the natural objects. Fourth, a new space is created by transforming two dimensional forms of natural objects. The first formative characteristic of natural objects in contemporary fashion window display is exaggeration. This is expressed through either the expansion of the external volume, the collapsed form of natural objects, or the distortion of external colors. Second, it is a dynamics. This makes it possible to recall the dynamic image of the integration of the observer with a priori thinking by systematically sequencing objects or inducing a specific motion. Third, it is an abstraction. This provides an opportunity for the observer to find in a natural beauty by exchanging physical form or reinterpreting characteristic points. Fourth, it concerns eclecticism characteristic that objects created through the mutual fusion of heterogeneous elements indicates an aesthetic inspiration in a limited space by diverting conventional thinking toward natural objects with expansion of consciousness on formative arts.

스캐닝 방법에 따른 백색광 스캐너 기반으로 채득된 디지털 모형의 정확성 비교 (Comparison of the accuracy of digital models made from white light scanner by scanning method)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of digitized stone models, impression materials compared to the master model and the reliability of the computer aided analysis. Methods : A master model(500B-1, Nissin dental product, Japan) with the prepared lower full arch tooth was used. Ten vinyl polysiloxane impressions(Examix$^{(R)}$, GC Industrial Corp, Japan) of master model were taken and type IV stone(aesthetic-base gold$^{(R)}$, Dentona, Germany) were poured in stone models. The linear distance between the reference points were measured and analyzed on the Delcam Copycad$^{(R)}$(Delcam plc, UK). The t-student test for paired samples was used for statistical analysis. Results : The mean differences to master model for stone model and impression material were 0.11~0.19mm, and 0.19~0.29mm, respectively. There were statistical differences in dimensional accuracy for full arch impression between master model and stone model/impressions(p<.05). Conclusions : Two different scanning methods showed clinically acceptable accuracy of full arch digital impression produced by them. These results will have to be confirmed in further clinical studies.

Topology optimization of bracing systems in buildings considering the effects of the wind

  • Nowadays, urban centers are increasingly vertical, making architects and engineers look for more efficient tools to analyze the effects of wind on tall buildings. Topology optimization can be used as an efficient tool for the design of bracing systems. Therefore, this work obtained the wind loads that act in the CAARC building, following the Brazilian standard NBR 6123/1988 and using Computational Fluid Dynamics. Four loading situations were considered, using the SIMP and BESO methods to optimize two-dimensional structures. A comparison between the SIMP and BESO methods is presented, showing the differences in the geometry of the solution found by both methods, the percentage variation in the objective function values and the dimensionless processing time. The solutions obtained through the loads obtained by the Brazilian standard are also compared with the numerical solutions obtained by CFD. The results show that the BESO method presented more rigid structures compared to the SIMP method. The bracing structures obtained with the SIMP method always present similar patterns in the distribution and quantity of bars, in contrast to the BESO method where no characteristic topology pattern was observed. It was concluded that even though the structures obtained by the BESO method presented greater stiffness, the SIMP method was less susceptible to the methodology used for the determination of wind loads. Additionally, it was evident the great potential that the combination topology optimization and computational wind engineering have in the design of bracing systems of high functional and aesthetic standards.
