Since the dimension of cold forged part is larger than the cavity size of forging die, the difference results from the various features, such as, the elastic characteristics of die and workpiece, thermal influences, and machine-elasticity. All of these factors should be considered to get more accurate prediction of the dimension of forged part. In this paper, severe FE techniques are proposed to improve the prediction accuracy of dimension for cold forged part. To validate the importance of the above mentioned factors, and the estimated results are compared with the experimental results. The used model is a closed die upsetting of cylindrical billet. The calculated dimensions are well coincided with .the measured values based on the proposed techniques. The proposed techniques have put two simple but important points into Fe simulation. One is the separation of forging stages into 3 steps, from a loading through punch retraction to ejecting stage. The other is the dimensional change, according to the temperature changes due to the deformation. The FE analysis could predict the dimension of cold forged part within the $10{\mu}m$, based on the more realistic consideration.

A recursive relationship is a relationship among entities of the same class. N : M recursive relationships can be used to represent bills of materials. A bill of materials is a special data structure that occurs frequently in manufacturing applications. This data structure is a hierarchy. Most business dimensions have a hierarchical structure. In this study, a design of a hierarchical dimension of the bill of materials type is carried out. As with other N : M relationships, an intersection table that shows pairs of related rows is created, and this table is transformed into a dimension in the OLAP(OnLine Analytical Processing) model. This transformation consists of two tasks: (1)replacing the first column of the intersection table with the lowest level of the dimension: and (2)replacing the second column of the table with the only upper level of the dimension. A case multidimensional information system using the hierarchical dimension is also developed.

Second. visual image materials including forms. composition. materials. patterns. and colors of traditional shoes were established as database with scanner. digital camera and computer 2D. Results of such a database will be able to be used as important materials which can be the foundation of culture industry contents development of traditional shoes and be the materials for developing digital culture contents of traditional shoes and teaching Korean traditional culture.
Since the 20th century, there has been a growing interest in the new concept of fractals, a combination of mathematics and art, and the attempt to study the creative spatial aspects of the concept is being made. The purpose of this research is to examine artistic characteristics of fractal dimension and then analyze the types of fractal dimensions expressed in the fashion. Previous literature on fractals and dimension, and visual data on art and fashion collected over the Internet were used for analysis. Fractal dimension refers to the spatial concept of structural dimension of geometrical self-similarity. An analysis of the types of fractals seen in fashion revealed spatial expansion, the repetition in continual figures, superposition accordant to different sizes, and shades of different shapes. The aesthetic characteristics of fractal dimension appearing in fashions were examined based on analyses of fractal dimension types; the inherent characteristics of self-similarity, superimposition, and atypicality were found. Results obtained from this study are expected to be used as basic materials for the application of the design of fractal dimension into various perspectives of fashion.

SiC materials have been extensively studied for high temperature components in advanced energy conversion system and advanced gas turbine. However, the brittle characteristics of SiC such as law fracture toughness and law strain-to fracture impose a severe limitation on the practical applications of SiC materials. SiC/SiC composites can be considered as a promising candidate in various structural materials, because of their good fracture toughness. In this composite system, the direction of SiC fiber will give an effect to the mechanical properties. It is therefore important to control a properdirection of SiC fiber for the fabrication of high performance SiC/SiC composites. In this study, unidirection and two dimension woven structures of SiC/SiC composites were prepared starting from Tyranno SA fiber. SiC matrix was obtained by nano-powder infiltration and transient eutectoid (NITE) process. Effect of microstructure and density on the sintering temperature in NITE-SiC/SiC composites are described and discussed with the fiber direction of unidirection and two dimension woven structures.
We analyzed a sequence of multi-stage automatic cold forging processes composed of four axisymmetric processes followed by a non-axisymmetric process using rigid-plastic finite element based forging simulators. The forging sequence selected for an example involves a piercing process and a heading process accompanying folding or overlapping, which all make it difficult to simulate the processes. To reduce computational time and to enhance the solution reliability, only the non-symmetric process was analyzed by the three-dimensional approach after the axisymmetric processes were analyzed by the two-dimensional approach. It has been emphsized that this capability is very helpful in simulating the multi-stage automatic forging processes which are next to axisymmetric or involve several axisymmetric processes.
Since ultrasonic stress wave velocity varies with wood temperature and moisture content, ultrasonic stress wave could be a tool to predict wood moisture content if temperature effect could be eliminated. This temperature effect was investigated by measuring the velocities of ultrasonic stress waves transmitting through air, a metal bar and a dimension lumber at various temperatures. For air the velocity and amplitude of the ultrasonic stress wave increase with temperature, while for a metal bar and a dimension lumber those decrease as temperature increases. However all three materials showed velocity hystereses with a temperature cycle. The effect of temperature and moisture content on stress wave velocity of a dimension lumber was depicted in the form of a three dimensional graph. The plot of stress wave velocity vs. wood moisture content was well fitted by two regression equations: a exponential equation below 46% and a linear equation above 46%.
The indirect technique for making cast restoration requires that dies be as accurate and durable as possible. Currently, stone is the most commonly used material for die. However, it has some problems such as the weakness in its strength and low abrasion resistance. Recently, epoxy resin die systems have become available. The purpose of this study was to examine two commercially available resin die systems and evaluate some characteristics for their clinical performance. This study evaluated the dimensional accuracy of epoxy resins and their wettability with impression materials. In this study, the first experiment was about dimensional accuracy of different die materials. The master model was made of stainless steel. 10 models were made of two epoxy resins (Die-epoxy, Tri-epoxy) and a die stone (Fujirock) each. Occlusal diameter (Dimension I), occluso-gingival height (Dimension II), and interabutment distance (Dimension III) were measured in each model. Next, the contact angles of die materials with impression materials were observed. The blocks were made of polyether, hydrophilic additional silicone, polysulfide impression materials. By drop-ping the same amount (0.05ml) of Tri-epoxy, Die-epoxy, and die stone on the blocks, 10 samples of each die material were made. After setting of materials, the contact angles were measured. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The expansion of stone die and the shrinkage of resin dies in occlusal diameter were observed, and stone and Tri-epoxy were expanded and Die-epoxy was shrinked in occluso-gingival height. There was little change among materials in interabutment distance (p<0.05). 2. In comparison with the master model Tri-epoxy had the least variation in measurement of the three die systems examined. Die-epoxy was next, and die stone showed the greatest variation. 3. The compatibility of die stone for polyether, hydrophilic additional silicone, polysulfide decreased in order, wherease epoxy materials had the decreased compatibility for polyether and polysulnde, hydrophilic additional silicone in order. It was not statistically different between polyether and polysulfide (p<0.05). 4. The contact angles of Tri-epoxy, Die-epoxy, die stone were getting bigger in order.
Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are a class of two-dimensional (2D) materials that have attracted growing interest because of their promising applications. The properties of TMDs strongly depend on the crystalline structure and the number and stacking sequence of layers in their crystals and thin films. Though electrical, mechanical, and magnetic studies of 2D materials are being conducted, there is an evident lack of direct atom-by-atom visualization, limiting insight on these highly exciting material systems. Herein, we present our recent studies on the characterization of 2D layered materials by means of aberration corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), in particular via high angle annular dark field (HAADF) imaging. We have identified the atomic arrangements and defects in 2H stacked TMDs, 1T stacked TMDs, distorted 1T stacked TMDs, and vertically integrated heterojunctions of 2D TMDs crystals.
Purpose : (1) To analyse the effect of exposure time, ROI size and one impact factor in the image processing procedure on estimates of fractal dimension; and (2) to analyse the correlated relationship between the fractal dimension and the Cu-Eq value (bone density). Materials and Methods : The cylindric bone phantoms of 6 large and 5 small diameter having different bone densities respectively and human dry mandible segment with copper step wedge were radiographed at 1.0 and 1.2 sec esposure (70 kVp, 7 mA) using one occlusal film and digitized. Eleven rectangular ROIs from 11 cylindric bone phantoms and 4 rectan-gular ROIs from cortical, middle, periodontal regions, and socket of bone were selected. Gaussian blurred Image was subtracted from original image of each ROI and multiplied respectively by 1, 0.8, and 0.5, and then the image was made binary, eroded and dilated once, and skeletonized. The fractal dimension was calculated by means of a box counting method in the software ImageJ. Results : The fractal dimension was decreased gradually with continued bone density decrease showing strong correlations (bone phantom; r> 0.87, bone; r> 0.68) under 70 kVp 1.0 sec M = 0.8. Fractal dimensions showed the significant differerence (p < 0.05) between two different exposure times on the same small ROI of bone phantom. Fractal dimensions between two different sizes of ROI on bone phantom showed the significant differerence (p < 0.05) under 1.2 sec exposure, but did not show it (p > 0.05) under 1.0 sec exposure. Conclusions : Exposure time, ROI size, and modifying factor during subtracting could become impacting on the results of fractal dimension. Fractal analysis with thoroughly evaluated method considering the various impacting factors on the results could be useful in assessing the bone density in dental radiography.
