Sometimes we have two groups of inbred lines and there are only interest in gca comparisons within group($p_{1}$) and group($p_{2}$) and not between two groups. For example, suppose there two Lab, each of the 2 Labs have obtained the best lines. For this purpose we now give a method of constructing block designs for diallel cross experiments and we will explain how to calculate efficiency. Then we show the efficiencies in the table.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of ovariectomy and estradiol benzoate administration on body growth and development of endocrine glands in female rats. One hundred and twenty female rats, 30 days old weighing 72.0${\pm}$3.0g, were divided into control and ovariectomized groups and divided again into two groups, treated and untreated with estradiol benzoate, respectively. Each group was composed of 30 rats. Hormone was injected every two week interval. The body weight was measured weekly from the beginning of treatment to 63 days after treatment and 6 rats per group were sacrificed at 7, 21, 35, 49 and 63 days after treatment for weight change of endocrine gland. The results obtained were as follows: 1. the changes in the body weight during the experimental period were not signifilcantly different between two groups, although the body weight of ovariectomized groups were heavier than that of control groups and the body weight of treated group with estradiol benzoate was heavier than that of untreated group. 2. The body lengths in all groups were increased proportionally to body weight until 63 days after treatment and there were not significantly different among the experimental groups. 3. The weight of hypophysis treated with estradial benzoate in ovariectomized groups was continuously increased in the whole period and was highly significant at 49 and 63 days after treatment as compared with those of untreated in ovariectomized group. 4. Adrenal gland weights of the control and ovariectomized group treated with estradiol benzoate were distinctly light at 21 days after treatment, but there were not significantly different among all groups at 35 days. Adrenal gland weight of ovariectomized groups was smaller than control groups at 49 days and untreated group in ovariectomized groups was considerably smaller than the other 3 groups at 63 days after treatment. 5. In control rats, the ovary weight treated group with estradiol benzoate was larger than the untreated group at 35 days after treatment, but was smaller than the untreated group after 49 days. 6. The weight of reproductive tract in ovariectomized groups were markedly smaller than control groups till 35 days after treatment. The growth of reproductive tract untreated in ovariectomized groups was almost completely depressed.
This study was aimed at clarifying the effects of sibling-involved .language intervention in children with language disorders. Ten subjects were selected and assigned into two groups (language intervention group with sibling-involvement, and language intervention without sibling-involvement). Group 1 consisted of 5 children with language disorders. Group 2 consisted of 5 children with language disorders without sibling-involvement. To investigate the language and communication ability, Picture Vocabulary Test and the subjects's spontaneous speech sample were analyzed. To compare pre-treatment with post-treatment between two the groups, repeated-measures ANOVA and t-test were used. The results were as follows; First, the language intervention with sibling-involvement was not effective compared to without sibling-involvement in improving the picture vocabulary ability of children with language disorders. There was a significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment in the picture vocabulary ability of the two .groups. However, there was no significant difference in the post-treatment between the two groups. Second, the language intervention with sibling-involvement was more effective compared to without sibling-involvement in improving the semantic aspects of language of children with language disorders. There was a significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment in the number of semantic relations between the two groups in that group 1 showed a higher improvement than group 2. Third, the language intervention with sibling involvement was more effective in improving pragmatic aspects of language of children with language disorders. There was a significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment in the number of communicative intentions of the two groups. And there was a significant difference in the post-treatment between the groups in that group 1 showed a higher improvement than group 2.
This study was performed to investigate the immunopotentiative effects of conjugated linoleic acid on mice immunosuppressed by administratin corticoids. Mice were divided into four groups of 8 mice. Two groups (C, CP) were given diet supplemented with 1% linoleic acid (CLA) and the other two groups (L, LP) were given diet supplemented with 1% linoleic acid (LA) instead of CLA. Prednison was administered to two groups (CP, LP) for immune depression. After feeding diets for 3 weeks containing PDS injection for last 1 week. Serum and gut lumen lavage were taken. Measurement of total Ig were executed using sandwich ELISA. Serum levels of IgA, IgG, and IgM showed some trend which groups fed with CLA were higher than groups fed with LA while IgE was reduced in those fed the CLA intake, and groups administered with PDS were lower than groups administered with saline. However, no significant differences were seen in the proportion of total immunoglobulin in serum. In case of secretory IgA, Group C and CP were significantly higher than group L and LP. Especially between CP and LP, it can be seen effects of CLA. In addition that the CLA treated group weighted a significantly lower level than the one's that have not been treated with CLA. These result support the view that CLA potentiate the immune response and prevent immune depression caused by administrating of corticoids. In conclusion, CLA produced a situation favorable for immunopotentiative effects. Thus, the clinical application of CLA is warranted.

Backgrounds and Objectives : There have been reported many studies which evaluate the effectiveness of combined laryngomicrosurgery(LMS) and voice therapy for the patients with benign vocal cord lesions. But the difference of voice improvement by onset time of voice therapy has not been reported. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences of voice improvement by voice analysis test between the two groups with different onset time of voice therapy. Materials and Methods : Two groups, each of which comprises 15 patients, were analyzed. For the one group, the voice therapy was initiated 1 day after LMS. For the other, the therapy was initiated 1 week after LMS. Voice analytic parameters of the two groups were statistically analized to identify difference in voice improvement. Results : All measured parameters improved after voice therapy in two groups and showed no significant difference between two groups. Conclusions : The onset time of voice therapy after LMS has no significant impact on post-operative voice quality in the patients with benign vocal cord lesions. Early onset of post-operative voice therapy may serve as treatment modality for patients with benign vocal cord lesions.
Objective : We suggested the clinical effect of Rainbow therapy on Bell's palsy. Methods : 20 Bell's palsy patients were divided into two groups. One group(A group) was treated by acupunture and the other group(B group) was treated by acupunture and Rainbow therapy. The effect of these treatments was evaluated by Yanagihara's unweighted grading system and House-Brackmann grading system. Results and Conclusions : In Yanagihara's unweighted grading system After 1 week and 2weeks treatment, group B marked more higher than group A in treatment outcome. We discovered that it is significant differences between two groups. After 3 weeks treatment, group B marked more higher than group A in treatment outcome but it is not significant differences between two groups. In House-Brackmann's facial nerve grading system, After 1 week treatment, group B marked more higher than group A in treatment outcome. We discovered that it is significant differences between two groups. After 2 weeks and 3 weeks treatment, group A marked more higher than group A in treatment outcome but it is not significant differences between two groups.
The purpose of this study was to create a database of information on the mechanical properties of two different waterproof and breathable shell fabric groups(high density woven and PTFE laminate) used for outdoor apparel and to compare and correlate data of their mechanical properties and hand values. The results of this study were as follows; There were no statistically significant differences between two fabric groups in extension, bending and shearing properties. There were statistically significant differences between two fabric groups in MMD, SMD, LC and we values. High density woven fabrics had smoother surface than PTFE laminated fabrics. PTFE laminated fabrics can be compressed easily more than high density woven fabrics but their recovery after compression was not better than high density woven fabrics. There were statistically significant differences between two fabric groups in NUMERI, FUKURAMI. There was statistically significant difference between two fabric groups in total hand value. Total hand value and mean deviation of MIU had a very high and statistically significant negative correlation coefficient.
The purpose of this study was to compare the flexibility and isokinetic differences between normal dancers and dancers with chronically sprained ankle. For the experiment Eversion/Inversion testing was performed by a Cybex 770 isokinetic dynamometer at the a speeds of 30$^{\circ}$ /sec and 120$^{\circ}$ /sec on each 7 subject group. The results were; 1) No differences were found between the two groups in ROM of ankle, but ROM of eversion has 2.8$^{\circ}$ higher in the injury group than the normal group. 2) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque. average power, total work at the evertor and invertor in injury side.(30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 3) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque at the evertor and invertor in normal side.(30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 4) Differences were found between the two groups in total work at the evertor in normal side. (30$^{\circ}$ /sec) 5) Differences were found between the two groups in peak torque, total work at the evertor and invertor in injury side. (120$^{\circ}$ /sec)
This study attempted to analyze the psychological anxiety of middle-aged men who expect to retire in order to bring up the problems of present retirement system, and suggest more desirable solutions connected with social welfare. The subjects of this study consisted of "non retirement group", aged 40-44(N=70) and "retirement group", aged 50-54(N=60) who were full-time employees in the small and medium enterprizes. The psychological anxiety levels of the two groups were assessed by the Spielberger's State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI) composed of 40 items. The major findings are as follows. There were significant differences in both trait and state anxiety between the two groups. The retirement group reported the higher level of both trait and state anxiety than the non retirement. And there was significant difference in "increased anxiety level by retirement"(state anxiety-trait anxiety) between the two groups. The retirement group reported the higher level of increased anxiety than the non retirement group. The state anxiety of the retirement group was significantly different by the retirement-related factors such as health state, the presence or absence of leisure activity and plan for later life, etc. The opinion of the two groups on the present retirement system was generally negative. The two groups prefered the voluntary retirement to involuntary retirement and considered that the retirement time must be prolonged to the age of 60 or 65.
This study investigated the effects of dictation practice, in terms of listening proficiency and the use of listening strategy. The research was implemented for 15 weeks with 89 freshmen and sophomores at a Korean university. The subjects were divided into an experimental group and a control group. All conditions were the same in both groups, except that the experimental group had dictation practice on a regular basis in their listening classes through one semester. For the purpose of the study, two research questions were set; 1) Does dictation practice improve listening proficiency? 2) What are the differences in the use of listening strategies between the two groups? Does dictation practice make the participants use different listening strategies? A sample TOEIC listening test was conducted as a pre-test and post-test. A questionnaire was used to find out the differences in the use of listening strategies between the two groups. The results of this study reveal that there was no statistically difference in improvement between the two groups; however, the experimental group scored much higher on the post-test than the pre-test compared with the control group. In regard to listening strategies, among 6 listening strategies, the use of metacognitive listening strategies had a significant difference between the two groups. On the basis of the results, the study suggested some guidelines for dictation practice in EFL listening classes and called for more studies on its effects.
