Recently, many multimedia services have emerged in Internet such as real-time and non- real time services. However, in this Internet environment, we have some limitations to satisfy each service feature. To guarantee the service features in Measurement-Based Admission Control(MBAC) based system on the flow-aware network, there is the method applying Dynamic Priority Scheduling(DPS) algorithm that gives a higher priority to an earlier incoming flow in all of the link bandwidth. This paper classifies all flows under several groups according to flow characteristics on per-flow MBAC algorithm based system. In each flow group, DPS algorithm is applied. This paper proposes two methods that are a DPS based bandwidth borrowing method and a bandwidth dynamic allocation method. The former is that if low priority class has available bandwidths, the flow of high priority class borrows the bandwidth of low priority class when high priority flow has insufficient bandwidth to connect a flow call. The later is that the each group has a minimum bandwidth and is allocated the bandwidth dynamically according to the excess rate for available bandwidth. We compare and analyze the characteristics of the two proposed methods through the simulation experiments. As the results of the experiment, the proposed methods are more effective than existing DPS based method on the packet loss and delay characteristics. Consequently the proposed two methods are very useful in various multimedia network environments.

In a switching node or an ATM multiplexer of the ATM network, a good bandwidth utilization can be achieved by the priority control using the 1-bit(Cell Loss priority) in ATM cell header. In this paper, the mixed mechanism is proposed to make up for shortcomings of existing space priority control mechanisms and to decrease the loss probability of high priority cell and its performance is analyzed about the cell loss probability. To estimate the performance of proposed mixed mechanism, its cell loss probability is compared with those of non-priority mechanism, push-out mechanism and partial buffer sharing mechanism. The cell loss probability is analyzed using a M/D/1/N modeling and a 2-state MMPP/D/1/N modeling and also comparison between two modelings is made. To verify this result of numerical analysis, the computer simulation is performed for each mechanism using the simulation language, SIMSRIPT II.5.
This paper proposes an efficient power consumption scheme using sleep mode in home gateway. The scheme by this paper classifies incoming real time packet and non-real time packet in home gateway and delay non-real time packet. Therefore, the home gateway can have longer sleep time because non-real time packet can get additional delay time by proposing mechanism using timer. We use non-preemptive two priority queueing model for performance analysis. As a results, we verify that power consumption of proposed scheme is reduced more than existing scheme by delay of non-real time traffic.
The traditional interrupt-based protocol processing at end hosts has two priority-inversion problems. First, low-priority packets may interrupt and delay high-priority process executionssince interrupts have the highest priority in most operating systems. Second, low-priority packet may delay high priority packets when they arrive almost simultaneously since interrupt processing is performed in a FCFS (first come, first served) order. These problems can be solved by a priority-based protocol processing policy and implementation. However, general priority-based schemes commonly have the problem of starvation and cannot support the each network flow requiring the mutually exclusive QoS since the packets are processed in the FCFS order. Therefore, the priority-based schemes are not appropriate for different QoS-demanding applications. In this paper, we present a bottom-half-based approach that relies on priority- and budget-based processing. The proposed approach allows us to solve both the starvation and priority-inversion problems, and further enables effective QoS isolation between different network connections. This feature also enables bounding the protocol processing time at an end host. We finally show through experiments that the proposed approach achieves QoS isolation and control.
In the recent priority system, high-priority packet will be served first and low-priority packet will be served when there isn\`t any high-priority packet in the system. By the way, even high-priority packet can be blocked by HOL (Head of Line) contention in the input queueing System. Therefore, the whole switching performance can be improved by serving low-priority packet even though high-priority packet is blocked. In this paper, we study the performance of preemptive priority in an input queueing switch for high speed switch system. The analysis of this switching system is taken into account of the influence of priority scheduling and the window scheme for head-of-line contention. We derive queue length distribution, delay and maximum throughput for the switching system based on these control schemes. Because of the service dependencies between inputs, an exact analysis of this switching system is intractable. Consequently, we provide an approximate analysis based on some independence assumption and the flow conservation rule. We use an equivalent queueing system to estimate the service capability seen by each input. In case of the preemptive priority policy without considering a window scheme, we extend the approximation technique used by Chen and Guerin [1] to obtain more accurate results. Moreover, we also propose newly a window scheme that is appropriate for the preemptive priority switching system in view of implementation and operation. It can improve the total system throughput and delay performance of low priority packets. We also analyze this window scheme using an equivalent queueing system and compare the performance results with that without the window scheme. Numerical results are compared with simulations.

This paper proposes a heuristic method for job shop scheduling with alternative machines. Our heuristic suggests two machine-selecting rules and two priority dispatching rules for modifying existent ones considering alternative machines, and then it extends existing nondelay/active job shop schedule generation. This heuristic provides good criteria(rules) in the selection of a proper machine among those performing a specific operation and for the dispatch of an operation to a selected machine and thus these rules permit the efficient job shop scheduling with alternative machines. The performances of our two machine-selecting rules in addition to the two priority dispatching rules, applied together with the existing 17 rules, are experimented and evaluated, respectively.

In this paper, we designed the bandwidth allocation scheme with priority consideration for upstream channel access of EthernetPON. The objective of our scheme is to control the multi services in more effective way according to their CoS(Class of Service) or QoS(Quality of Service). The designed scheme considers transmission priority in the both side of OLT and ONU. In the OLT's view, the Two-step scheduling algorithm is applied with which we can support multiple bandwidth allocation policies simultaneously, i.e. SBA for the time-sensitive, constant rate transmission services and DBA for the best-effort services. This Two-step scheduling algorithm reduces the scheduling complexity by separating the process of transmission start time decision from the process of grant generation. In the ONU's view, the proposed scheme controls 8 priority queues of the 802.1d recommended 8 service classes. Higher priority queue is serviced in prior during the allowed GATE time from OLT. The OPNET modeling and simulation result compares the performance of each bandwidth allocation policy with SBA or DBA only approach.
The purpose of this study is to gather baseline data on perceived priority of residential choice and housing satisfaction rates among consumers with the aim of using this information for future planning. Self-administered questionnaires were provided to 196 studio-type multi-family housing dwellers in the City of Gwangju from 2009 Apri 5th to 29th. The collected data was used to conduct comparative and descriptive statistical analysis: factor analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis. The main findings obtained are as follows: Firstly, in relation to perceived priority of residential choice, dwellers identified seven factors as important. Secondly, in terms of housing satisfaction about a unit room, the respondents identified five factors as important. This study confirmed that there existed passive correlation between priority of residential choice and housing satisfaction among residents in studio-type multi-family housings in Gwangju. It is very necessary to project a studio-type multi-family housing close to transportation for easy access, avoiding commercial districts. Delicate interior and design will attract more female residents as well as fully-equipped parking lots for people who drive to their workplace. According to research on a degree of housing satisfaction, all respondents expressed dissatisfaction with "noise". Therefore, in dealing with construction plans of studio apartment units, from now on, sound proofing facilities are required to reduce the acoustic invasion of privacy, especially, for units with more than two people. In order to satisfy all the demand of residents in studio apartment units, we have to pursue systematic and succeeding research about a studio-type multi-family housing well-fitted for the actual circumstances of local area and suitable for longer stay. To sum up, more research and development will be required for high-class studio-type multiplex housing for sale in dealing with households with financial stability such as two-paycheck couples, so-called DINK, or a professional single person, in the future.
To identify strategies to prevent sexual problems in teenage girls, respondents in this study answered two open-ended questions: "What are strategies for teenage school girls to prevent unwanted coitus?" and "What are strategies for teenage girls to prevent pregnancy?" The respondents were 12,733 girls from an accessible population of 19,000, a multi-stage cluster sample from a population of 1,988,902 girls attending 4,684 schools in the seven largest cities and nine provinces in Korea. Data were collected by mail between October 2 and October 28, 2000. The response rate was 68.9%. The total number of responses for the first question was 10,345, and for the second, 9,624. Data were analyzed by content analysis. The results of this study are: 1. According to priority, frequent strategies to prevent unwanted coitus were, self assertiveness (35.7%), heterosexual interaction training (24.6%), sex education (21.2%), and innovations in the system of social culture (4.7%). The order of priority was the same whether the respondents had experienced coitus or not. 2. According to priority, frequent strategies to prevent pregnancy were, heterosexual interaction training (27.4%), sex education (26.2%), contraceptive use and induced abortion (21.4%), and innovations in the system of social culture (3.2%). The first priority for the respondents who had not experienced coitus was heterosexual interaction training (27.7%) but contraceptive use (35.5%) was the first priority for the group who had experienced coitus. In sex education, a focus on contraceptive use for teenage girls who have experienced coitus and on heterosexual interaction training for those who have not, would strengthen preventive strategies for these two sexual problems. Assertiveness training as part of sex education would further strengthen prevention strategies.

A queueing model with two input streams of different service priorities is studied. Specifically, IBP+BP/D/1 with head-of-line priority is analyzed. IBP and BP stand for Interrupted Bernoulli Process and Bernoulli Process respectively. The BP-stream customers have the higher service priority over the IBP-stream customers. An exact analysis of this priority queue is presented to derive the distributions of the state of the system at steady state, the waiting time distributions for each class of customers, and the interdeparture time distributions. The numerical results of the analysis are presented to show how the various parameters of the low and high priority arrival processes affect the performance of the system.
