  • In this paper, the new type biped walking robot which is composed of the minimum number or links just for walking and its appropriate gaits are proposed. The proposed new gaits for this robot are four-crossing, crawling, standing and turning gait. In designing the biped robot we propose the Performance Index which means the needed torque per a moving distance and generate foot trajectories by $3^{rd}$ order spline Interpolation. Among those, numerically we find the optimal conditions which minimize the Performance Index. Dynamically stable walking of the biped robot is realized by satisfying the stability condition of ZMP(zero moment point), which is related to maintaining the ZMP within the region of the supporting foot during the s1n91e leg support phase. We determine the region of mass center from the stability condition of ZMP and plan references which track the mass conte. trajectory of constant velocity. Finally we implement the gaits statically tracking the planned trajectories using PD control method.

  • Oil flow pass of hermetic scroll compressor with back pressure chamber was described. Dynamic analysis was preceded in order to obtain the loads on the lubricating contacts. The mobility method of dynamically loaded journal bearings was applied to the crank jornal bearing and lower main bearing, and they could be designed to operate under fluid film lubrication. From the consideration of their film thicknesses and oil flow rates, optimal bearing clearances or other bearing dimensions could be assessed. The major friction loss was calculated to be from the axial force between the two scrolls. Therefore, it was suggested that the designers should be careful to reduce the over-turning moment on the orbiting scroll.

  • Upon the basis at the end of March 2005, we have the 38.91 million cellular phone subscribers over the country and the total diffusion rate of the cellular phone is reached up to 76.1%. At this moment, it can be said the most people use it since the demand is still going on. Turning to the operation company, this is serviced by the SK Telecom, LG Telecom, and KTF, and there are at least 6 manufactures producing it including Samsung, LG, KTF ever, Motorola an d SKY. Most users periodically change the service vendor to the others for buying new model or changing the service vendor. It is understood the customer's action occurred by the differences of the brand cognition. In this study, along with some parameters including the difference of the vendor's difference of satisfaction (mobile telecommunication, product), and the possibility to buy the product again, I am going to find out the relationship between the satisfaction of the provider's service.

  • When a fast container ship or a naval vessel is turning, comparable roll motions occur. Therefore, roll effect has to be considered in the horizontal equations of motion of the ship to predict the maneuverability well. In this thesis, a new method to determine a roll model structure and estimate its coefficients by applying the system identification technique to the data of sea trial tests was proposed. The simulation results from the estimated roll model were well consistent with the true one in spite of the difference between the estimated and the true model structures of roll hydrodynamic moment.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between research of mechanical friction and Taekwondo kick performance. For this a Taekwondo kick performance test, A.F.T.S.(Automated Footwear Testing System) and survey about fitting was used. There was a statistically significant difference between all the Taekwondo shoe types. While performing the roundhouse kick there were statistically significant differences in the peak free moment(p=.01) and peak plantar pressure between type A and B. Comfort testing revealed that there were statistically significant difference between type A and B in the five comfort variables tested but not between type B and Type C. There was statistically significant differences between each of the Taekwondo shoes but there was no relationship between the performance and the results of the survey.

  • This paper presents a numerical study of the spatial behavior of a linear absorbing solute in a heterogeneous porous medium. The spatially correlated log-normal hydraulic conductivity field is generated in a given two-dimensional domain by using the geostatistical method (Turning Bands algorithm). The velocity vector field is calculated by applying the two-dimensional saturated groundwater flow equation to the Galerkin finite element method. The simulation of solute transport is carried out by using the random walk particle tracking model with CD(constant displacement) scheme in which the time interval is automatically adjusted. In this study, the spatial behavior of a solute is analyzed by the longitudinal center-of-mass displacement, longitudinal spatial spread moment and longitudinal plume skewness.

  • The seating postures of passengers in the automated driving vehicle are possible in atypical forms such as rear-facing and lying down. It is necessary to improve devices such as airbags and seat belts to protect occupants from injury in accidents of the automated driving vehicle, and collision safety evaluation tests must be newly developed. The purpose of this study is to define representative types of head-on collision accidents to develop collision standards for autonomous vehicles that take into account changes in driving behavior and occupants' postures. 150 frontal collision cases remained by filtering (accident videos, images, AIS 2+, passenger car, etc…) and random sampling from approximately 320,000 accidents claimed by a major insurance company over the past 5 years. The most frequent accident type is a head-on collision between a vehicle going straight and a vehicle turning left from the opposite side, accounting for 54.7% of all accidents, and most of these accidents occur in permissive left turns. The next most common frontal collision is the center-lane violation by drowsy driving and careless driving, accounting for 21.3% of the total. For the two types above, data such as vehicle speed, contact point/area, and PDOF at the moment of impact are obtained through accident reconstruction using PC-Crash. As a result, two types of autonomous vehicle crash safety test scenarios are proposed: (1) a frontal oblique collision test based on the accident types between a straight vehicle and a left-turning vehicle, and (2) a small overlap collision test based on the head-on accidents of center-lane violation.

  • A ship runs with various modes of motion due to waves. Among the modes, roll mainly influences on the safety of cargos on the deck of container ship. In order to protect cargo shifting and turning, securing and lashing system are generally installed. In that case, it is necessary that the force and moment at the connection point of containers should be estimated. Therefore we derived mathematical equations to calculate the forces of securing points and lashing wires. Also we calculated those forces and moments about various lashing patterns.

  • Recently, tug boats are widely used for towing a barge which transports building materials, a large block of a ship, offshore crane, and so on. In order to simulate the dynamics of the coupled towing system correctly, the dynamics of the towline should be well modeled. In this paper, the towline was modeled as the multiple finite elements, and each element was assumed as a rigid cylinder which moves in five degrees of freedom except roll. The external tension and its moment acting on each element of the towline were modeled depending on the position vector's direction. Tugboat's motion was simulated in six degrees of freedom where wave and current effects were included, and towed barge was assumed to move in the horizontal plane only. In order to confirm the mathematical models of the coupled towing systems, standard maneuvering trials such as course changing maneuver, turning circle test and zig-zag test were simulated. In addition, the same trials were simulated when the external disturbances like wave and current exist. As the result, it is supposed that the results might be qualitatively reasonable.

  • In this paper, horizontal manoeuvrability of an underwater vehicle near free surface was investigated. Planar Motion Mechanism(PMM) tests were performed at the shallow depth within 4.5 times of vehicle's diameter. Hydrodynamic coefficients related to the horizontal movement were estimated from the measured data using Least SQuare(LS) method and analyzed at each submerged depth. Furthermore, horizontal dynamic stability, trajectory of turning and zigzag test were investigated for the various depths. As underwater vehicle is positioned nearer to the free surface, forces increase and moment decreases. Tested model was found to be stable only at the depth 0.5 times of vehicle's diameter.
