흡배기구 손실예측 및 이를 고려한 항공기 가스터빈의 장착 성능모사 연구 (Study on Installed Performance Simulation of Aircraft Gas-Turbine Engine Considering Inlet and Exhaust Losses)

  • 실험적인 연구가 흡입구와 배기구 성능을 평가하는 일반적인 방법이나 이는 고가이며 많은 시간이 소요된다. 따라서 소요 시간과 계산을 절약하는 방법으로 전산 유체 역학적 수치 모사가 실험적 연구로 대체할 수 있다. 그러므로 본 연구는 3차원 형상 모델을 이용하여 흡입구와 배기구의 구성품 성능을 연구하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구에서 특정한 흡입구 및 배기구를 유동가시화 기능을 갖는 전산유체 역학적 프로그램을 이용하여 손실 및 유동장을 예측하기 위해 모델링 및 해석이 수행되었다. 모델링된 기하학적 자료를 필요로 하는 과정이 설계과정에서 설계 개선 가능성을 위해 요구되었다. 또한 특정 터보축 엔진의 장착 성능이 예측된 흡입구, 배기구 및 기타 보기 손실을 가지고 평가되었다.

터보펌프 인듀서의 내부 유동 해석 (An Interal Flow Analysis of Turbo Pump Inducer)

  • The internal flow in the rocket pump inducer of LE-7 engine for H-II rocket was predicted at design and off-design flow rates using CFD code, CFX- Tascflow. In this numerical study, the performance curve of inducer coressponding to flow rates variation and the internal flow in the front of blade leading edge show good agreement between the calculations and the measurements. Backflow is appeared at suction side of leadinge edge tip, and this region is extended to upstream as flowrate decrease. Because of backflow, pressure loss coressponding to meridinal coordinate occupy 50% from inlet domain to leading edge. By this phenomena, pressure loss in front of blade leading edge take a great effect to inducer performance.

  • 초기 엔진 시동을 위해 터빈을 구동하기 위한 고압가스를 제공함으로써, 발사체 액체추진기관의 터보펌프 시동기 역할을 수행하는 파이로스타터의 개발 현황에 대해 간단히 소개하기로 한다. 우선 개발 이력을 간단히 정리하였으며, 파이로스타터 개발에 있어서 핵심 부분이라고 할 수 있는 고체추진제, 내탄도, 럽쳐디스크, 점화기 부분에서의 현재 기술 현황을 정리하였다. 현재의 기술개발 수준을 고려해 볼 때, 향후 파이로스타터 개발요구조건을 충분히 만족시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The floating ring seal is used in an oxidizer and a fuel pump of the turbo pump unit in the liquid rocket engine to optimize a leakage without rubbing phenomenon. The damper floating ring seal, one of the floating ring seals, is with round hole pattern surfaces. It can reduce the leakage by increased friction factor that obtained from experimental data. In this paper, the leakage test about floating ring seal and damper floating ring seal was conducted. The test result showed the leakage performance of damper floating ring seal was better than the leakage performance of floating ring seal. With the leakage test the lock-up and rotation test about seal was conducted and that position is measured. The relatively large lock-up eccentric ratio was obtained from the test result of damping floating ring seal. The attitude angle of seal increases with increasing of shaft rotation.

대형 상선에서의 펌프사용 현황 (The Present Status of Pumps Installed in the Large Merchant Ships)

  • Pumps arre used extensively for transporting fluid in many ships. However, the present state of pumps used in the large merchant ships has not been studied. In this paper, we have reported the general description of the operating pumps according to the different ship types(Bulk, Container, Car-Carrier, Tanker, LNG). Moreover, the pump total powers are compared with the main engine Normal Continuous Rating power and the pump total weights are also compared with the ship deadweight.

  • 액체로켓엔진은 발사 전까지 성능의 입증을 위해 많은 시험을 거친다. 점화 및 시동 조건 설정을 위한 시험이나 정격 조건에서의 성능시험을 통해 설계 성능을 검증한다. 하지만 개발과정에서 여러 작동조건의 시험을 통해 탈설계 조건에서의 성능확인이 필요하며 이는 엔진 개발기간에 영향을 준다. 엔진 내의 제어 밸브의 개도를 변화시키는 엔진 성능 시험과 함께 엔진으로 공급되는 추진제의 조건을 변경시켜 탈설계 성능 시험을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 나로우주센터에 설치되어 있는 한국형발사체 액체로켓 엔진 시험설비에서 수행된 엔진 시험 운용 결과를 기초로 하고 있으며, 시험 대상체에 공급되는 추진제의 압력과 온도의 변화로 터보펌프의 입구 조건을 변경시키는 탈설계 조건 성능시험을 위한 시험설비 운용에 관한 내용을 기술하였다.

EGR관 형상이 가변형상 과급기를 장착한 디젤엔진의 EGR 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of EGR Pipe Configuration on EGR Characteristics of Diesel Engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharger)

  • The use of an Exhaust Gas Recirculation(EGR) for a diesel engine with variable geometry turbocharger(VGT) has confronted how to obtain the amount of EGR for NOx reduction requirement at wide operating range and less side effect. Through a combined effort of modeling(wave action simulation) and experiment, an investigation into the effect of EGR area ratio and pipe length on EGR characteristics of common rail diesel engine with VGT has been performed. For accurate computation, calibration of constants involved in empirical and semi-empirical correlations has been performed at a specific operating point, before of its use for engine simulation. From the results of this study, it was found that EGR rate is sharply increased with increasing EGR area ratio until area ratio of 0.3. However, the effect of EGR area ratio on EGR rate is negligible beyond this criteria. This study also investigates the effect of EGR pipe length on a EGR amount and pulsating flow characteristics at EGR junction. The results showed that the longer EGR pipe length, the lower EGR amount was achieved due to the flow loss resulting in lower amplitude of pressure wave.

The computational characteristics of thrust and propellant mixture ratio regulators for LRE using a propellant combination of methane and oxygen

  • A project where the TPUs(Turbo Pump Units) for 10tf-thrust oxygen/methane LRE (Liquid Rocket Engine) are under development is being implemented to include an experimental combustion chamber developed. In the process of it, we introduced the power-balanced engine cycles in order to substantiate concepts of the engine using the combinations of the propellants. Accordingly, the main engine parameters of nominal operating mode are resulted from the 1-Dcalculations and it is found that the regulators are needed for controlling the expected pressure levels in the characteristics of propellant mixture ratio and thrust supposing the regulator is set to analogue-typed one which is easy to develop.The technical requirements like the nominal flow rate, its deviations expected and the pressure difference In need helped the several main characteristics of regulators to be determine in this stage. Here, a dozen of deviation values in the main parameters related to engineoperation are taken into independent consideration and accepted to the results for additional regimes of the regulators.Finally, we can determine the scheme and the primary dimensions along with the calculation design of the spring acceptable for general configuration which can definitely forwarded to the autonomous tests of the aggregates, The obtained data in further will be used for successive refinement of operating mode of the engine.

커먼레일 디젤기관에서 분사전략에 따른 성능 및 배출가스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Performance and Emission by CRDI Engine's Injection Strategy)

  • Recent research has focused on engine combustion technology as well as application of after-treatment in order to comply with emission regulation. However, it is much more efficient way to control emissions from engine itself and furthermore research on engine control will provide the direction of after-treatment technology in future. Furthermore, emission standard regulation for passenger diesel vehicles has been stringent compared to others and nano-particles will be included in EURO6 regulation in Europe and similar emission standard will be introduced in Korea. A 3.0 liter high speed diesel engine equipped with by CRDI system of 160MPa injection pressure, and an intake/exhaust system of V type 6 cylinder turbo-intercooler was applied. The injection duration and injection quantity, pilot injection types which are related to CRDI and air/fuel ratio control applied by EVGT were changed simultaneously. Standard experiment procedure constituted dilution apparatus and CPC system to collect nano-particles and these test results were compared with regulated materials of CO, HC, NOx and investigated their relations and characteristics of nano-particles.
