암반분류와 Mohr-Coulomb 이론해를 이용한 터널 전구간 안정성 분석 (Analysis of Whole Tunnel Stability by Using Rock Mass Classification and Mohr-Coulomb Analytical Solution)

  • 터널의 안정성 평가방법 중 유한요소법이나 유한차분법과 같은 수치해석을 수행하면 정밀한 지반거동을 예측할 수 있으나 터널노선 전구간에 대한 수치해석은 경제적으로 비효율적이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이론해를 사용하고 이를 적용할 수 있도록 터널을 등가면적의 원형으로 가정하여 터널 전구간에 대한 안정성을 분석하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이를 실제 터널에 적용하여 터널 전구간에 대해 예상되는 변형거동과 정량적인 변형률 및 소성반경을 계산하였고 이로부터 변형을 적정한 수준 이내로 제한하기 위한 지보압을 제시하였다. 적용 결과 제안된 방법은 전체 터널 구간에 대한 신속한 안정성 평가와 주요 불안정 구간에 대한 정밀 해석이나 계측설계와 같은 후속조치를 위한 정량적 자료를 제공할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

지하환기소 대단면 터널 시공 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Construction of Large Cross Section Tunnel for Underground Ventilation System)

  • 본 사례연구에서는 신림~봉천터널 지하환기소 대단면 터널의 시공 사례를 소개하였다. 환기갱(폭 7.8 m, 높이 6.6 m)에서 환기소(축류팬실, 폭 20.8 m, 높이 12.3 m)로 터널 단면이 확대되는 구간에 대해 안전성 및 시공성 등을 고려하여 점진적인 확대 굴착 방안 및 Q 시스템을 이용한 확폭 구간의 임시 보강 방안이 검토되었다. 확폭이 완료된 이후 대단면 터널은 현장의 암반조건을 확인하고, 전산해석을 이용한 터널의 안정성 검토 등을 통해 암반등급에 따라 굴진장을 일부 조정하고, 터널 상부 굴착을 분할 없이 전단면 굴착으로 변경하여 시공성을 향상시켰다. 본 사례연구에서 소개한 시공 사례가 향후 유사한 조건의 지하환기소 또는 4차로 도로 등의 대단면 터널의 설계 및 시공에 유용한 참고 자료가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

사질토지반에서 터널굴착시 막장안정을 위한 폐합비에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Closure Ratio for Tunnel Face Stabilization during Tunnel Excavation in Sand Soil)

  • 본 논문은 터널 굴착시 막장면 안정성 확보를 위한 막장폐합비에 따른 막장면 응력 및 지반거동을 분석하기 위해 실내모형실험 및 수치해석적 분석을 실시하였다. 실내모형실험에서는 터널막장면의 폐합비와 토피고에 따른 막장면 응력 및 지반의 거동을 실험하였다. 실내모형실험 결과를 검증하기 위하여 2차원 수치해석을 실시하였으며 이들 서로의 결과들을 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 막장 폐합비가 증가할수록 터널 막장면 안정성 확보가 가능할 것으로 판단되며 막장 폐합비가 80% 이상일 경우에는 막장 안정성에 큰 문제가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 경제적인 터널 막장폐합시스템을 개발하는데 매우 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

A NEW FEEDBACK TECHNIQUE FOR TUNNEL SAFETY BY USING MEASURED DISPLACEMENTS DURING TUNNEL EXCAVATION

  • This research project was carried out to develop the technique to assess quantitatively and rapidly the stability of a tunnel by using the measured displacement at the tunnel construction site under excavation. To achieve this purpose, a critical strain concept was introduced and applied to an assessment of a tunnel under construction. The new technique calculates numerically the strains of the surrounding ground by using the measured displacements during excavation. A numerical practical system was developed based on the proposed analysis technique in this study. The feasibility of the developed analysis module was verified by incorporating the analysis results obtained by commercial programs into the developed analysis module. To verify the feasibility of the developed analysis module, analysis results of models both elastic and elasto-plastic grounds were investigated for the circular tunnel design. Then the measured displacements obtained in the field are utilized practically to assess the safety of tunnels using critical strain concept. It was verified that stress conditions of in-situ ground and ground material properties were accurately assessed by inputting the calculated displacement obtained by commercial program into this module for the elastic ground. However for the elasto-plastic ground, analysis module can reproduce the initial conditions more closely for the soft rock ground than for the weathered soil ground. The stability of tunnels evaluated with two types of strains, that is, the strains obtained by dividing the crown displacement into a tunnel size and the strains obtained by using the analysis module. From this study, it is confirmed that the critical strain concept can be fully adopted within the engineering judgment in practical tunnel problems and the developed module can be used as a reasonable tool for the assessment of the tunnel stability in the field.

침매터널 내화설계에 관한 조사 분석적 연구 (An Examining and Analyzing Study on the Fire Resistance Design for Immersed Tunnels)

  • Recently, Busan-Geoje fixed Link Immersed Tunnel and the Tokyo Port Waterway 2 Submarine Tunnel have been constructing. Furthermore it was mentioned to construct an immersed tunnel from Korea to Japan. As a result, it is expected that the demand to use the immersed tunnel will be increased. However, if a fire occurs in the immersed tunnels, it will damage tunnel elements and not save human lives more seriously than normal tunnels on the ground because of the absence of exits as well as closing structure of the immersed tunnels. In fact, the fire accident in the Eurotunnel which connects between France and the Unite Kingdom through the immersed tunnel had occurred twice in 1996 and 2008, and the inner surface of the tunnel got damaged such as concrete popout and structural damage. As a result, not only economic injury but enormous expense to repair and reinforce the tunnel were derived because of the suspension of traffic after the fire happened. Now, from the examining and analyzing study on the fire resistance of immersed tunnels in developed countries and Busan-Geoje fixed Link Immersed Tunnel, we suggest the establishment method of fire resistance to insure the fire safety of immersed tunnel.

터널붕괴지반의 보강공법 및 효과에 대한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Ground Reinforcement Method and Effect of the Failed Tunnel)

  • The maintenance for the stability of tunnel, especially on downtown area, careful check must be considered during construction stage and after. Moreover we have to achieve the stability of tunnel by ground improvement and reinforcement when ground condition is bad or tunnel failures under the various ground conditions. In this paper, it is presented the case of tunnel failure and the state of restoration by ground reinforcements at seoul subway $\bigcirc$-$\bigcirc$ construction site. For the purpose of ground reinforcement, first, curtain wall was established by chemical grouting. Secondly, cement milk grouting was carried by upper part of tunnel crown. Also Boreholes loading test and tunnel monitoring were carried by in failure site for the long term stability of tunnel.

승객 이명감 기준을 만족하는 고속철도 터널 최소 단면적에 대한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE MINIMUM CROSS-SECTIONAL AREA OF HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY TUNNEL SATISFYING PASSENGER EAR DISCOMFORT CRITERIA)

  • Pressure change inside cabin as well as in tunnel has been calculated to assess the passenger pressure comfort of high-speed train. $C-STA^{TM}$, a CFD program based on axi-symmetric Navier-Stokes equation and Roe's FDS has been used to simulate the pressure change in tunnel during a high-speed train passing through it. To present the relative motion between the train and the tunnel, a modified patched grid scheme based on the structured grid system has been employed. The simulation program has been validated by comparing the simulation results with field measurements. Extensive parametric study has been conducted for various train speed, tunnel cross-sectional area and tunnel length to the pressure change in cabin. KTX-Sancheon(KTX2) high-speed train has been chosen for simulation and the train speed have been varied from 200 km/h to 375 km/h. The tunnel length has been varied from 300 m to 7.5 km and tunnel area from $50m^2$ to $120m^2$. Total 504 simulations have been conducted varying the parameters. Based on the database produced from the parametric simulations, minimum tunnel cross-sectional area has been surveyed for various train speeds based on Korean regulation on pressure change in cabin.

기존터널에 근접한 직각교차 하부터널의 굴착에 따른 교차부지반의 거동 (II) (Behavior of the Ground in Rectangularly Crossed Area due to Tunnel Excavation under the Existing Tunnel (II))

  • 저토피 구간에서 기존터널 하부에 새로운 터널을 교차하여 신설할 때에 하부 터널굴착으로 인하여 발생하는 교차부 주변지반의 거동을 대형모형실험과 수치해석을 통하여 연구하였다. 모형실험결과 교차 전 후의 하부터널 굴착에 따른 종방향 응력전이가 상부터널에 의하여 차단됨을 알 수 있었다. 수치해석결과에 의하면 측압계수 K = 0.38인 경우에 응력그림자 현상으로 단일터널 천단부에서의 최소주응력 감소는 상하교차터널의 천단에서보다 크게 발생한다. 직각교차터널에서는 기존상부터널의 영향으로 응력그림자 현상이 나타나 단일터널에 비하여 작은 응력감소를 보인다.

  • A three-arch NATM tunnel with a total length of 53.5m has been constructed for a metropolitan subway station in Daejon, Korea. The tunnel, whose crown is located 22m below the ground, crosses the old Daejon station underneath. Since the tunnel comprises a very large section (10${\times}$28 m; largest in Korea), it shows complicated mechanical behaviors, especially near portal, due to its short length relative to width. As far as its construction step is concerned, the center tunnel is excavated with pre-excavated pilot tunnel, which is a unique feature of this tunnel (first in Korea) to secure safety during construction and prevent excessive settlements. The both side tunnels are then excavated along with the center tunnel. Since significant amount of settlement was predictable from the design stage, extensive monitoring was performed during construction. During excavation of the side tunnels, unexpected large settlements up to ${\~}$140mm (estimated 41.8 mm at design stage) was measured at the center tunnel. In this paper, we study the causes of this unusually large ground settlement. We believe that the extra-wide tunnel excavation increases the stress influence zone of portal in longitudinal direction and consequently add more settlements to the existing due to excavation and consolidation.

G7 시제 차량의 터널내부 압력파에 대한 수치 해석 (The Numerical Simulation of the Pressure wave for G7 Test Train in the Tunnel)

  • A numerical simulation has been performed to estimate the transient pressure variation in the tunnel when G7 test train passes through the test tunnel in the Kyoeng-Bu high-speed railway. A modified patched grid scheme is developed to handle the relative motion between a train and a tunnel. Also, a hybrid dimensional approach is proposed to calculate the train-tunnel interaction problem efficiently. An axi-symmetric unsteady Euler solve using the Roe's FDS is used for analyzing a complicated pressure field in tunnel during the test train is passing through the tunnel. Usually, this complex phenomenon depends ell the train speed, train length, tunnel length, blockage ratio between train and tunnel cross-sectional area, relative position between train and tunnel, etc. Therefore, numerical simulation should be done carefully in consideration of these factors. Numerical results in this study would be good guidance to make test plans, test equipments selection and to decide their measuring locations. They will also supply important information to the pressurization equipment for high-speed train.
