Background: Korean Red Ginseng (KRG) was reported to play an anti-inflammatory role, however, previous studies largely focused on the effects of KRG on priming step, the inflammation-preparing step, and the anti-inflammatory effect of KRG on triggering, the inflammation-activating step has been poorly understood. This study demonstrated anti-inflammatory role of KRG in caspase-11 non-canonical inflammasome activation in macrophages during triggering of inflammatory responses. Methods: Caspase-11 non-canonical inflammasome-activated J774A.1 macrophages were established by priming with Pam3CSK4 and triggering with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Cell viability and pyroptosis were examined by MTT and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assays. Nitric oxide (NO)-inhibitory effect of KRG was assessed using a NO production assay. Expression and proteolytic cleavage of proteins were examined by Western blotting analysis. In vivo anti-inflammatory action of KRG was evaluated with the LPS-injected sepsis model in mice. Results: KRG reduced LPS-stimulated NO production in J774A.1 cells and suppressed pyroptosis and IL-1β secretion in caspase-11 non-canonical inflammasome-activated J774A.1 cells. Mechanistic studies demonstrated that KRG suppressed the direct interaction between LPS and caspase-11 and inhibited proteolytic processing of both caspase-11 and gasdermin D in caspase-11 non-canonical inflammasome-activated J774A.1 cells. Furthermore, KRG significantly ameliorated LPS-mediated lethal septic shock in mice. Conclusion: The results demonstrate a novel mechanism of KRG-mediated anti-inflammatory action that operates through targeting the caspase-11 non-canonical inflammasome at triggering step of macrophage-mediated inflammatory response.

The triggered vacuum switch (TVS) is widely used as a high power switch in the field of pulsed power application. TVS can produce current of higher than 100 kA within a microsecond after being triggered. A triggering high voltage pulse generator supplies a high voltage signal to the trigger system to initiate the discharge between a trigger pin and one of main electrode. The trigger system, which consists of a tungsten trigger electrode and cylindrical ceramic insulator around it, is normally installed at the center of main cathode electrode. The discharging characteristics of the trigger system strongly depend on the geometry, electrode material, vacuum pressure and so on. In addition, we especially will focus on the developing a triggering pulse generator, which can vary not only value of voltage but also pulse duration, because its properties gives pivot influences on the TVS discharge. To verify such effects, we made a 3.3 kJ TVS set-up initially. Thus we will discuss some of prominent results from 3.3 kJ TVS system. In parallel we will show on the design of 300 kJ TVS system for the high current in the future.

This paper is introducing a newly developed spark-gap switch with dual trigger system, into which the current from the voltage source is injected along with the test sequence during the synthetic testing of high voltage circuit-breaker. The currently-used spark gap switch is narrow in operating range due to the use of the method of triggering energy being injected by single way. As a result, the frequent happening of misoperation has greatly reduced the test quality and test efficiency and has required the cost of maintenance excessively. In this study, accordingly, in order to basically remove these problems, another triggering system is installed to the opposite direction on the existing triggering system; attaching the same time and the same rising time of pulse wave as on the existing system, so that at a comparatively trigger gap distance from the main electrode(the gap can be operated at 60% of self-break voltage, while at 80% in the current system), the main electrode has been enabled to be closed by the development of spark gap switch with dual trigger system.
Both the weighing bridge and the diverter system is a important component in achieving a high accuracy liquid flow rate standard using a static gravimetric method. The weighing bridge is a tank which weighing collected flow with a load cells. The diverter is a moving device used to direct flow alternately along its normal course(by pass) or towards the weighing tank. The time needed for collection into the weighing tank is measured using a timer. So it is important to the diversion period is sufficiently fast and triggering point of timer which is determined the filling time. On this studies show that the measurement deviation of load cell and uncertainty of diverter system for changing diversion speed and triggering point was estimated in accordance with Guide to The Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement(ISO).

FMCW radar, which is widely used as a front collision warning system for vehicles, is now being commercialized. In this study we develope the radar signal processing system using MPC5775K that is specialized for high performance ADAS. That has special features for ADAS such as 10Msps 12bit ADC, 50MHz Radix-4 FFT, CTE(Cross Triggering Engine) for synchronized triggering between DAC and ADC. The baseband processing board is implemented and shows the result in Matlab.
We quantify the relative role of galaxy environment and bar presence on AGN triggering in face-on spiral galaxies using a volume-limited sample with 0.02 < z < 0.055, Mr < 19.5, and σ > 70 km s-1 selected from Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7. To separate their possible entangled effects, we divide the sample into bar and non-bar samples, and each sample is further divided into three environment cases of isolated galaxies, interacting galaxies with a pair, and cluster galaxies. The isolated case is used as a control sample. For these six cases, we measure AGN fractions at a fixed central star formation rate and central velocity dispersion, σ. We demonstrate that the internal process of the bar-induced gas inflow is more efficient in AGN triggering than the external mechanism of the galaxy interactions in groups and cluster outskirts. The significant effects of bar instability and galaxy environments are found in galaxies with a relatively less massive bulge. We conclude that from the perspective of AGN-galaxy coevolution, a massive black hole is one of the key drivers of spiral galaxy evolution. If it is not met, a bar instability helps the evolution, and in the absence of bars, galaxy interactions/mergers become important. In other words, in the presence of a massive central engine, the role of the two gas inflow mechanisms is reduced or almost disappears. We also find that bars in massive galaxies are very decisive in increasing AGN fractions when the host galaxies are inside clusters.
In this study, the design of advanced LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) I/O interface circuit with new structural low triggering ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) protection circuit was investigated. Due to the differential transmission technique and low power consumption at the same time. Maximum transmission data ratio of designed LVDS transmitter was simulated to 5Gbps. And Zener Triggered SCR devices to protect the ESD phenomenon were designed. This structure reduces the trigger voltage by making the zener junction between the lateral PNP and base of lateral NPN in SCR structure. The triggering voltage was simulated to 5.8V. Finally, we performed the layout high speed I/O interface circuit with the low triggered ESD protection device in one-chip.
This paper presents a Clock-gating technique that reduces power dissipation of the sequential circuits in the system. The Master Clock of a Clock-gating technique is formed by a quaternary variable. It uses the covering relationship between the triggering transition of the clock and the active cycles of various flip-flops to generate a slave clock for each flip-flop in the circuit. At current RTL designs flip-flop is acted by Master clock's triggering but the Slave Clock of Clock-gating technique doesn't occur trigger when external input conditions have not matched with a condition of logic table. We have applied our clocking technique to UART controller of 8bit microprocess
In the global Internet, a constraint-based routing algorithm performs the function of selecting a routing path while satisfying some given constraints rather than selecting the shortest path based on physical topology. It is necessary for constraint-based routing to disseminate and update link state information. The triggering policy of link state updates significantly affects the volume of update traffic and the quality of services (QoS). In this letter, we propose an adaptive triggering policy based on link-usage statistics in order to reduce the volume of link state update traffic without deterioration of QoS. Also, we evaluate the performance of the proposed policy via simulations.
This paper is results of analyzing the characteristics of rainfall triggering landslides and geometry of slopes, caused by the heavy rainfall and antecedent precipitation by Typhoons Ewiniar and Bilis at Chuncheon area in Gangwondo around July in 2006. As results of analyzing the characteristics of rainfall, landslides in 131 sites were found to happen due to the heavy rainfall having the maximum intensity of rainfall in an hour during July 15 and antecedent precipitation during July 12 to 14 causing the ground to be weak by increasing the degree of saturation previously. From results of analyzing the geometrical characteristics of 131 slopes where landslides occurred, the slope width were in the range of 6~10m. The average slope length and angle were 46m and $51.8^{\circ}$, which was relatively steep slope, respectively. Landlises occurred in the elevation of 400 - 500 m with the most probable frequency.
