Purpose: Ménétrier disease (MD) was first described in 1888, and 50 cases have been reported until now. We aimed to discuss the etiology, diagnostics, and management of MD in children. Methods: We searched for case reports published from 2014 till 2019 in English using PubMed. Articles were selected using subject headings and key words of interest to the topic. Interesting references of the included articles were also included. Results: The pathophysiology of MD is still uncertain. However, overexpression of transforming growth factor alpha with transformation of the gastric mucosa has been observed, which may be mediated by genetics and provoked by an infectious trigger. Clinically, MD is diagnosed by abdominal pain, vomiting, anorexia, and edema secondary to hypoalbuminemia. A gastroscopy with biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of MD. In children, the disease is self-limiting and only requires supportive treatment. In general, children have a good prognosis and recover spontaneously within a few weeks. Conclusion: Few pediatric cases of MD have been described in recent years, and with all different etiology. Endoscopy with biopsy remains the golden standard for the diagnosis of MD, and in children, the disease is self-limiting.
Objectives: The US ranks ninth in obesity in the world, and approximately 7% of US adults experience major depressive disorder. Social isolation due to the stigma attached to obesity might trigger depression. Methods: This paper examined the impact of obesity on depression. To overcome the endogeneity problem, we constructed pseudopanel data using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System from 1997 to 2008. Results: The results were robust, and body mass index (BMI) was found to have a positive effect on depression days and the percentage of depressed individuals in the population. Conclusions: We attempted to overcome the endogeneity problem by using a pseudo-panel approach and found that increases in the BMI increased depression days (or being depressed) to a statistically significant extent, with a large effect size.

In September 2007, the collapses of slopes and landslides are happened at Jeonlanamdo due to heavy rains accompanied with Typoon "Nari". The study area is the tunnel portal slope in new road construction site. This slope consists of pyroclastic rocks and has lots of faults. Particularly, the residual soils of the slope is deteriorated with yellowish mudstone layer as a results of chemical and physical weathering. This has a variety of swelling clay minerals and might be moved easily down at the gentle terrain. The inner factor of $\bigcirc\bigcirc$tunnel portal slope's collapse is the geological weak zone, the convergent topography, the inferiority of drainage and the heavy rain act on the failure as direct trigger.
Contemporary studies illustrate that peripheral injuries activate glial components of the peripheral and central cellular circuitry. The subsequent release of glial stressors or activating signals contributes to neuropathic pain and neuroinflammation. Recent studies document the importance of glia in the development and persistence of neuropathic pain and neuroinflammation as a connecting link, thereby focusing attention on the glial pathology as the general underlying factor in essentially all age-related neurodegenerative diseases. There is wide agreement that excessive glial activation is a key process in nervous system disorders involving the release of strong pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can trigger worsening of multiple disease states. This review will briefly discuss the recent findings that have shed light on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of glia as a connecting link between neuropathic pain and neuroinflammation.
Plant growth and development are coordinately orchestrated by environmental cues and phytohormones. Light acts as a key environmental factor for fundamental plant growth and physiology through photosensory phytochromes and underlying molecular mechanisms. Although phytochromes are known to possess serine/threonine protein kinase activities, whether they trigger a signal transduction pathway via an intracellular protein kinase network remains unknown. In analyses of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MAPKK, also called MKK) mutants, the mkk3 mutant has shown both a hypersensitive response in plant hormone gibberellin (GA) and a less sensitive response in red light signaling. Surprisingly, light-induced MAPK activation in wild-type (WT) seedlings and constitutive MAPK phosphorylation in dark-grown mkk3 mutant seedlings have also been found, respectively. Therefore, this study suggests that MKK3 acts in negative regulation in darkness and in light-induced MAPK activation during dark-light transition.
A numerical parametric study is conducted to simulate shock-induced combustion with a variation in freestream conditions. A steady combustion front is established if the freestream Mach number is above the Chapman-Jouguet speed of the mixture. On the other, an unsteady reaction front is established if the the freestream Mach number is below or at the Chapman-Jouguet speed of the mixture. The three cases have been simulated for Machs 4.18, 5.11, and 6.46 with a projectile diameter of 15 mm. Machs 4.18 and 5.11 shows an unsteady reaction front, whereas Mach 6.46 represents a steady reaction front. Thus Chapman-Jouguet speed is one of deciding factor for the instabilities to trigger.
Some proteins of E. coli are stable at temperatures significantly higher than $49^{\circ}C$, the maximum temperature at which the organism can grow. The heat stability of such proteins would be a property which is inherent to their structures, or it might be acquired by evolution for their specialized functions. In this study, we describe the identification of 17 heat-stable proteins from E. coli. Approximately one-third of these proteins were recognized as having functions in the protection of other proteins against denaturation. These included chaperonin (GroEL and GroES), molecular chaperones (DnaK and FkpA) and peptidyl prolyl isomerases (trigger factor and FkpA). Another common feature was that five of these proteins (GroEL, GroES, Ahpc, RibH and ferritin) have been shown to form a macromolecular structure. These results indicated that the heat stability of certain proteins may have evolved for their specialized functions, allowing them to cope with harsh environments, including high temperatures.

To improve the reliability of the klystron-modulator systems, the stable operations of the thyratron an important factor of the system are required. The thyratron always has a possibility of self-fire according to the conditions of the applied high voltage and this induces the system fault. Therefore a command charging method was introduced to reduce the applied tim8 of the high voltage into the thyratron. The high voltage switch used in the command charging method is the SCR (1.6 kV, 50A) and consists of 10 SCRs in series to discharge 10 kV. A pulse transformer was used to apply the trigger pulse. The objectives of this research are the fabrication of the semiconductor switch and the study of the experimental result of the operation characteristics of the high voltage semiconductor switch.

A numerical parametric study is conducted to simulate shock-induced combustion with a variation in freestream conditions. The analysis is limited to inviscid flow and includes chmical nonequilibrium. A steady combustion front is established if the freestream Mach number is above the Chapman-Jouguet speed of the mixture. On the other, an unsteady reaction fi:ont is established if the freestream Mach number is below or at the Chapman-Jouguet speed of the mixture. The instabilities of the chemical front with a variation of projectiles diameters will be investigated.
In-vitro culture has provided new inforrnation on mechanisms of oocytes rnaturation and results obtained in vitro have led to new questions. In porcine, follicular and oocyte size have the crucial importance for the oocytes maturation. The addition of hormones to the culture medium was found to accelerate and facilitate meiotic maturation. The presence of some factors in serum trigger the resumption of meiosis and support the maturation of oocytes in vitro. The maturation rate of porcine oocytes was also increased by supplementation of porcine follicular fluid to the culture medium. The growth factors can stimulate nuclear maturation and enhances cytoplasnic maturation of oocytes by interaction with gonadotropins. The maturation-promoting factor brings about GVBD and the subsequent maturational events in oocytes. However, cAMP can block the spontaneous meiotic maturation of oocytes in culture. The understanding of these influences is a prerequisite to enhancing in vitro maturation of porcine oocytes.
