로봇 저널리즘 연구 동향 및 미래 전망 (Robot Journalism Research Trends and Future Prospects)

  • AI-powered robot news is drawing attention as artificial intelligence technology is fully spread in the news distribution field. Robot news still has many technical and ethical problems, but academic research on this is insufficient. This study analyzes the issue of robot writing in artificial intelligent based robot journalism industry using SWOT analysis. As a result, the advantages of big data processes, accurate information gathering, high efficiency and disadvantages such as lack of independent arguments and lack of evidence and opportunities for technical development, government support, academic development, and industrial applications, and threats such as uncritical acceptance and lack of talent have been found. This study suggests three future-oriented directions, such as human-machine collaboration, intelligent news, and chat-bot, through previous studies on the development direction of robot journalism-based article writing.

  • Russian Constructivism, which took the lead in the Russian trend of art until the late 1920's, was influenced by European Cubism and Futurism. Breaking away from the previous realistic tendency, Russian Constructivism, to meet the ideology of the revolution, insisted the "Art into Street" and the "Art in Industry" with its abstract and geometric design. Russian Constructivism effected paintings of mid 1920's, as well as Industrial design and costume design. This operated remarkable changes in Russian form of costume and textile area. An unusual situation like revolution had provided the social justification to develop a new costume design not for the special class of people, but for the general public. In this atmosphere, the plan of clothing mass production began to progress. Although the Russian Constructivism costume of arts shows the similarity in the trend of fashion and the physical forms of those days, its fundamental idea in manufacturing costumes was 'to create costumes to be possible to mass-produce and to be wearable to anyone regardless of the social class'. Therefore, Constructivism costume of arts pursued dynamism and geometric form through non-objective design that has broken away from the handcrafted and traditional standards of the past. These distinct characteristics served as a momentum to seek costume design based on productivity and functionality.

액티브 스포츠웨어 발달과정을 통한 현대 sports-inspired fashion 분석 (Modern sports-inspired fashion through active sportswear development history)

  • This paper studied sports-inspired fashion(SIF) that is often characterized as 'designer clothes inspired by active sportswear.' First, we reviewed the social, economical, artistic, and technological background behind its development. Second, we studied the development history of SIF by classifying it into four periods. Third, we analyzed how SIF emerged and developed with its own characteristics from a historical perspective. For a theoretical background, we did a critical review of previous literature in the field of clothing history, history of culture, and art history. We collected the data from magazines, such as Fashion Show and Gap Press and from the internet sources as well, such as firstviewkorea.com. We also did the content analysis of the data by consulting a chosen group of fashion designers. This study revealed that active sportswear started to develop from everyday clothes for functional convenience in the beginning and then SIF emerged later as a major fashion trend with the popularity of sportive look. This trend became stronger with the global spread of American popular culture. SIF eventually became high fashion with collaboration between sportswear industry and designers. This study confirmed that SIF reflects the characteristics of many sports games in silhouettes, colors, and details. It is predicted that sports will continue to be an important source of inspiration for fashion designers.

  • Mild cognitive impairment is status between healthy people and dementia patients. In order to prevent dementia or slow its progression, cognitive interventions could be effective. In this paper, review of the cognitive intervention with computer software was undertaken. Previous reports showed that the cognitive intervention with additional equipment could practical to the mild cognitive impairment.

인텔 비휘발성 메모리 기술 동향 (Trend of Intel Nonvolatile Memory Technology)

  • With the development of nonvolatile memory technology, Intel has released the Optane datacenter persistent memory module (DCPMM) that can be deployed in the dual in-line memory module. The results of research and experiments on Optane DCPMMs are significantly different from the anticipated results in previous studies through emulation. The DCPMM can be used in two different modes, namely, memory mode (similar to volatile DRAM: Dynamic Random Access Memory) and app direct mode (similar to file storage). It has buffers in 256-byte granularity; this is four times the CPU (Central Processing Unit) cache line (i.e., 64 bytes). However, these properties are not easy to use correctly, and the incorrect use of these properties may result in performance degradation. Optane has the same characteristics of DRAM and storage devices. To take advantage of the performance characteristics of this device, operating systems and applications require new approaches. However, this change in computing environments will require a significant number of researches in the future.

융합기술 개발을 위한 중소기업 간 협업모형 제안 (Study on the Cooperation Model for Fusion-Technology Development in SMEs)

  • Industry convergence is the inexorable trend, which has become a fundamental concept to understand the industrial dynamics and to develop business strategies. However, most of the previous studies on convergence have dealt with the issues at the macro-level (technology- or industry-level), little attention has been paid to the analysis of convergence at the micro level (firm-level). Recognizing that firms are the principal agents that develop fusion technologies, it is encouraged to help firms to work together for technology convergence. Therefore, this research proposes a collaboration model for SMEs, since SMEs tend to have novel ideas and are flexible enough to make fusion-technology. To do this, we conducted a survey for Korean SMEs and analyzed their successful cases of collaboration, which was used as a basis to develop the model. The research results will help develop strategy or policy to promote the collaboration between SMEs and ultimately to make a fusion-technology.

최적의 접착심지 선정을 위한 전문가시스템 개발 (Development of an Expert System for Optimum Fusible Interlining)

  • In this research, an expert system has been developed to select optimum well-matched fusible interlinings with a face fabric. First, a database of face fabrics and fusible interlinings has been constructed. And knowledge acquisition has been performed from the previous studies about the properties of fusible interlinings and fused composites as well as fusing prsocess quality control. Then, a rule-based knowledge-base has been constructed through knowledge classification. Finally, we have constructed an inference engine with the knowledge-base. The expert system enables us to easily select optimum fusible interlinings for a face fabric considering high quality fused composites and fashion trend.

A Study on Real-time Graphic Workflow For Achieving The Photorealistic Virtual Influencer

  • With the increasing popularity of computer-generated virtual influencers, the trend is rising especially on social media. Famous virtual influencer characters Lil Miquela and Imma were all created by CGI graphics workflows. The process is typically a linear affair. Iteration is challenging and costly. Development efforts are frequently siloed off from one another. Moreover, it does not provide a real-time interactive experience. In the previous study, a real-time graphic workflow was proposed for the Digital Actor Hologram project while the output graphic quality is less than the results obtained from the CGI graphic workflow. Therefore, a real-time engine graphic workflow for Virtual Influencers is proposed in this paper to facilitate the creation of real-time interactive functions and realistic graphic quality. The real-time graphic workflow is obtained from four processes: Facial Modeling, Facial Texture, Material Shader, and Look-Development. The analysis of performance with real-time graphical workflow for Digital Actor Hologram demonstrates the usefulness of this research result. Our research will be efficient in producing virtual influencers.

  • Currently, Lighting systems have undergone improvements with its convergence with information technology. However, compared to the developments in Night-Scape lighting, designers are facing difficulties in having efficient access to information. Also, the cost and time it takes to undergo research for benchmarking previous cases is exceptionally high. Thus, this study will investigate the current trend of luminaire, and Night-Scape lighting in buildings, Street furniture, and signboards that has incorporated IT techniques from domestic and abroad. From these findings, the research aims to establish a database composition that categorizes luminaire and its different applications.

  • Internet business is transforming the current structure and way of shopping behaviors. As a frontier area of internet business, internet shopping mall industry is influenced by this trend. In this shopping situation, shopping objects and information on the object are separated, which makes consumers to decide on the contents and marketing function offered by the shopping mall. This study proposes an integrated model including the influencing factors on customer royalty in Internet shopping environments. Eight hypotheses are proposed based on previous research in Internet marketing and information systems. The results are quite supporting the model and hypotheses. The contents structure, marketing activities, and customer satisfaction in the internet shopping environment influence shopping experience, next purchases and reference to other people. The proposed model and empirical results would contribute to setting up strategy of Internet shopping mall industry, and also to future research in information systems and Internet marketing.
