In this paper, we investigate the recent trend of regional entrepreneurship of 16 cities and provinces in Korea after 2000. In addition we analyze the impact of determinants on regional entrepreneurship. The recent overall trend of entrepreneurship shows a quite drastic decline in 2008. Specially, it is observed that larger cities show more drastic shrinks in entrepreneurship comparing to previous years. We also confirm four major determinants such as R&D, protecting ownership, industrial diversity, and the size of local government that are statistically significant. We suggest some empirical evidence for that entrepreneurship is positively related with enhancing R&D activities and ownership right through patent. It is also found that the faster growth of local government expenditure than the growth of GRDP deters entrepreneurship manifestation. However, we have a significant yet mixed sign on the coefficient of the industrial diversity. Even if the industrial diversity seems to have no statistically significant impact on regional entrepreneurship, we provide some empirical evidence that it fosters the activities of privately owned small businesses while the industrial concentration does those of corporate firms.
Carbon isotopic compositions of the YC-2 stalagmite in Yongcheon Cave were analyzed to delineate paleoclimatic variations near Korean peninsula for the past historical period. The YC-2 stalagmite is about 68 mm long and annual growth laminae are distinctively identified. Because the number of growth laminae is at least 242, the stalagmite can be estimated to be at least 241 years old. At about 15 mm from the bottom, one thick brown growth lamina is observed, and this lamina was likely to have been formed when the stalagmite ceased to grow, making the hiatus. High resolution, carbon isotope data indicate past fluctuations of East Asia monsoonal intensity (intimately related to the amount of precipitation). Based on the carbon isotope trend, the stalagmite can be divided into three stages (Stages I, II and III). The highest carbon isotopic compositions of Stage I (${\delta}^{13}C$=-3.3~0.4‰, PDB) indicate that the stalagmite grew during the Little Ice Age when cold and dry climate prevailed with less vegetation. Stage II is characterized by a transitional period from cold and dry to warm and wet climate with a increasing trend of carbon isotopic compositions (${\delta}^{13}C$=-9.6~-0.6‰) and this period indicates the weakening of the Little Ice Age climate. This decreasing trend also suggests that Little Ice Age was terminated near middle 1870's around Korean peninsula. Relatively low carbon isotopic compositions during Stage III (${\delta}^{13}C$=-11.0~-8.0‰) indicates that the climate was changed to warm and wet conditions which are similar to the present.
Purpose: This study aimed to derive clues for the franchise industry to overcome difficulties such as various legal regulations and social responsibility demands and to continuously develop by analyzing the research trends related to franchises published in Korea. Research design, data and methodology: As a result of searching for 'franchise' in ScienceON, abstracts were collected from papers published in domestic academic journals from 1994 to June 2021. Keywords were extracted from the abstracts of 1,110 valid papers, and after preprocessing, keyword analysis, TF-IDF analysis, and topic modeling using LDA algorithm, along with trend analysis of the top 20 words in TF-IDF by year group was carried out using the R-package. Results: As a result of keyword analysis, it was found that businesses and brands were the subjects of research related to franchises, and interest in service and satisfaction was considerable, and food and coffee were prominently studied as industries. As a result of TF-IDF calculation, it was found that brand, satisfaction, franchisor, and coffee were ranked at the top. As a result of LDA-based topic modeling, a total of 12 topics including "growth strategy" were derived and visualized with LDAvis. On the other hand, the areas of Topic 1 (growth strategy) and Topic 9 (organizational culture), Topic 4 (consumption experience) and Topic 6 (contribution and loyalty), Topic 7 (brand image) and Topic 10 (commercial area) overlap significantly. Finally, the trend analysis results for the top 20 keywords with high TF-IDF showed that 10 keywords such as quality, brand, food, and trust would be more utilized overall. Conclusions: Through the results of this study, the direction of interest in the franchise industry was confirmed, and it was found that it was necessary to find a clue for continuous growth through research in more diverse fields. And it was also considered an important finding to suggest a technique that can supplement the problems of topic trend analysis. Therefore, the results of this study show that researchers will gain significant insights from the perspectives related to the selection of research topics, and practitioners from the perspectives related to future franchise changes.
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of a mixture of bentonite and illite as feed additives on the growth performance and litter quality of 90 Pekin ducks. The ducks were individually weighed and randomly divided into two treatments (control and 1% combination of silicate minerals), with three replicate pens per treatment, and 15 ducks per pen. Growth performance was not significantly affected (p>0.05) by the combination of bentonite and illite, but a trend of increased growth performance was observed in the control groups. Total nitrogen content and pH in the litter decreased following supplementation with the combination of bentonite and illite (p<0.05) when compared with the control group. This data indicates that the dietary supplementation with the combination of bentonite and illite (1% level) has no positive effect on the growth performance and litter quality of Pekin ducks.

Vocal fold scar disrupts structure of lamina propria and causes significant change in vocal fold tissue biomechanics, resulting in a range of voice problems that often significantly compromise patient quality of life. Although several therapeutic management have been offered in an attempt to improve vocal fold scar, the ideal treatment has not yet been found. Recently, several tissue engineering technique for vocal fold scar using growth factors, several cells, and scaffolds have been described in tissue culture and animal models. Several growth factors such as hepatocyte growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, and transforming growth factor beta 3 for therapy and prevention of vocal fold scar have been studied. Cell types to regenerate vocal folds in scarring tissue have been introduced autologous or scarred vocal fold fibroblast and adult mesenchymal stem cells. Decellularized organ matrix and several hyaluronic acid materials have used as scaffolds for vocal fold scar.
Since growth promotion was defined by Koch(1935), many researches like Benholdt and Thomsen(1942) have conducted studies for understanding problem of puberty growth. Growth promotion means that growth is developed in puberty, and several researchers have reported that the more becomes economic growth, the more becomes growth promotion. Thereupon, this study was attempted to find Maximum Growth Age(M.G.A.), as an index of height growth promotion in Korea, which was obtained by longitudinal observations of the same group. Thus, this study can explain the earlier tendency of growth. To investigate domestic changes in M.G.A., M.G.A. was calculated with the results of cross-sectional researchs using 25 representative papers between 1940-1953 including measurements by Lee(1940) and data by Kim(1953) in this study. Based on the research data published between 1940 and 2000, height and M.G.A. of males and females who were born between 1925 and 1983 were gotten by years, and a trend of growth promotion for height in Koreans was suggested by examining study subjects. Findings of this study are as follows; 1. M.G.A. for height decreased both in males and females; for males, 14.28 years in 1940, 14.24 in 1953, 13.86 in 1967, 12.74 in 1985, and 11.71 in 2000; for females, 12.0 in 1940, 11.52 in 1965, 10.00 in 1978 and 9.77 in 2000. 2. Regression equations and standard errors of estimate concerning M.G.A. for height by years were obtained; for males, Y$_1$(M.G.A.) = 17.21 - 0.059X$_1$, S$_{Y1X1}$(standard error of estimate about the regression line) = ${\pm}$0.62; for females, Y$_2$(M.G.A.) = 13.81-0.042X$_2$, S$_{Y2X2}$(standard error of estimate about the regression line) = ${\pm}$0.64 3. As a result of finding correlation between year and M.G.A. r=-0.763 (p<0.001) for male and r=-0.699(p<0.001) for female were obtained 4. From a view that the growth promotion has been continued before 2000, M.G.A. decreased 0.6 years for male and 0.4 for female per 10 years. 5. M.G.A. for height is as shown in Table 2. 6. It is thought that the future trend of growth promotion for height will follow the progress from 1940s to now. It shall be reviewed again after development of coming several years is investigated.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different feeding regimen on the growth and nutrients excretion in finishing pigs. A total of 80 pigs (59.91 kg BW) and 6 pigs (85 kg BW) were employed in a growth trial and metabolic trial, respectively. Treatments were grower-grower (GG), grower-early finisher(GE), early finisher-early finisher (EE), and early finisher-late finisher (EL) diet feeding regimens for feeding trial and G, E, L diets for metabolic trial. Through whole experimental period, no significant difference was found in any of the criteria measured. Pigs fed on a GG regimen gained slightly faster than pigs fed on other feeding regimens, with no significant difference. Although there was a trend that pigs fed on a GG or GE regimen showed improved feed/gain over pigs fed on a EE or EL regimen, the difference also was not significant. In the metabolic trial, dry matter and phosphorus digestibility was not affected by diets, however, phosphorus digestibility tended to be decreased as nutrients contents was decreasing in the diets. Crude protein digestibility was significantly influenced by the nutrients contents in th diets. The data suggested that 11.7% crude protein seemed to be low for the 85 kg pigs. Though nutrients excretion was not significantly influenced by dietary treatment except phosphorus, there was a trend that pigs fed diets with low nutrient content excreted less amount of nitrogen and phosphorus than pigs fed diets with high nutrients content. There was a trend that GG or GE feeding regimen gad a favorable effect on carcass grade when only 10 lighter pigs of each treatment were subjected to statistical analysis. However, with 10 heavier pigs, EE and EL feeding regimen showed better carcass grade, though the difference was not significant. In summary, it seemed that producers generally oversupply the expensive nutrients for the finishing pigs. High nutrient diets do not always guarantee high growth rate of pigs. It rather seems that to meet nutrient requirements for the each growth phase is more important in economical pork production.

Growth dynamics of the seagrass, Zostera marina were examined at the two stations (Myungju and Dagu) in Jindong Bay on the southern coast of Korea. Eelgrass leaf productivities, underwater irradiance, water temperature, dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) in water column and sediments, and tissue carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) content were monitored monthly from March 2002 to January 2004. Underwater irradiance fluctuated highly without a clear seasonal trend, whereas water temperature showed a distinct seasonal trend at both study stations. Water column DIN concentrations were usually less than $5{\mu}M$ at both study sites. Sediment pore water $NH_4{^+}$ and $NO_3{^-}+NO_2{^-}$ concentrations were higher at the Myungju site than at the Dagu site. Eelgrass leaf productivity at both study sites exhibited a distinct seasonality, increasing during spring and decreasing during summer. Seasonal variation of eelgrass productivity was not consistent with seasonal patterns of underwater irradiance, or water temperature. Eelgrass tissue C and N content at both study sites also showed significant seasonal variations. Relationships between tissue C and N content and leaf productivities exhibited usually negative correlations at both study sites. These negative correlations implied that the growth of Z. marina at the study sites was probably limited by C and N supplies during the high growth periods.

Low-carbon Green Growth is highlighted as the main political issue from in and outof Korea. Recently Korean government announced the vision for low-carbon green growth. Considering this as a starting point the carbon emission estimation has become an important factor in the city planning. In order to realize the carbon reduction planning, this research was focused on the trend analyzes between the carbon exhaust estimation as well as the land use change for the past 40 years in Jinju. The image processing data of past aerial photography and the land suitability assessment databases were used to collect the useful information's for the land trend analysis for 40 years. As the results, the land use changes by new residential developments have led to increase the carbon emissions and population concentration rapidly. The urban management planning for low carbon and green growth should consider carbon emissions by population growth derived from land use change. Further research need to estimate the accurate carbon exhaust using relationship model with fuel consumption, carbon estimation, and land use.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate about chief complaints of Korean pediatrics and adolescent outpatients in the ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ university hospital for their recent trend. Methods The study was composed of 4,677 new patients aged between 1 month and 20 years who had been visited pediatrics in ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ university hospital from 2012 January to 2015 December. Results 1. Among those patients, majority was early childhood as 51.4%, followed by early childhood, late childhood, infancy, and adolescence. 2. Chief complaints in this population have been recorded in the fall the most as 29.6%, but the distribution was inconsistent. 3. To categorize, digestive-related chief complaints were the highest as 30.6%, followed by respiratory, supplemental use, growth, psychiatrics. Respiratory-related chief complaints increased dramatically in the fall. 4. In infancy and early childhood, digestive/respiratory complaints were common, whereas, growth complaints were common in late childhood and adolescence. 5. Digestive/respiratory complaints have been over 50% out of all chief complaints annually. Psychiatric and growth-related complaints have been trending up, whereas, supplemental/skin complaints have decreased every year. 6. Specifically, anorexia were the most common in digestive complaints, and rhinitis/sinusitis were top among respiratory complaints. Precocious puberty and developmental disability increased every year. Conclusions The most common chief complaints were digestive and respiratory-related, and precocious puberty and growth issues have been trending up lately. Based on this result, more studies that targets precocious puberty and growth problems are needed.
