방사성폐기물 동굴처분 안전성 평가를 위한 지하수 유동 평가 (Groundwater Flow Analysis for a Block Cavern Type Radwaste Repository)

  • 방사성폐기물 안전성 평가를 위해 가상 부지를 선정하고 경계 조건을 도입하였다. 연안에 처분장이 위치할 경우를 가상하여 처분장 심도 및 단층까지의 거리등에 대한 지하수 유동 민감도를 분석하였다. 또한 처분장 진입 터널이 지하수 유동에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 이를 통하여 각 암반별 지하수 이동 거리 및 시간을 CONNECTFLOW를 이용해 산정하고, 그 결과들이 확률론적 방사선적 안전성 종합 평가 코드인 MASCOT의 입력 자료로 활용되도록 하였다.

  • Resonance radiation trapping has a great influence on the characteristics of vacuum ultraviolet(VUV) photon emissions in AC PDP cell. We calculate the spatial andspectral distributions of VUV photons, which are radiated by excited Xe in AC PDP cell by Monte Carlo method. Especially a dip in the spectrum at center frequency is discovered both in simulation and in experiment. We give a physical explanation of this phenomenon by the concept of frequency-dependent mean free path of VUV photons.

Vehicular Cyber-Physical Systems for Smart Road Networks

  • This paper proposes the design of Vehicular Cyber-Physical Systems (called VCPS) based on vehicular cloud for smart road networks. Our VCPS realizes mobile cloud computing services where vehicles themselves or mobile devices (e.g., smartphones and tablets of drivers or passengers in vehicles) play a role of both cloud server and cloud client in the vehicular cloud. First, this paper describes the architecture of vehicular networks for VCPS and the delay modeling for the event prediction and data delivery, such as a mobile node's travel delay along its navigation path and the packet delivery delay in vehicular networks. Second, the paper explains two VCPS applications as smart road services for the driving efficiency and safety through the vehicular cloud, such as interactive navigation and pedestrian protection. Last, the paper discusses further research issues for VCPS for smart road networks.

Validation of Some Protection Guidelines for Neighboring Pipelines against Fault Currents from Power Transmission Tower

  • Fault current can be discharged from power transmission tower due to lightning or inadvertent contact of crane, etc. Pipelines in proximity to either the source of the ground fault or the substation grounding grid may provide convenient conductive path for the fault current to travel. Inappropriate measures to the neighboring pipelines against the fault current may cause severe damages to the pipes such as coating breakdown, arc burn, puncture, loss in wall thickness, or brittle heat-affected zone. Like inductive and conductive AC coupling, steadily induced fault current right after the coating breakdown can lead to corrosion of the pipeline. In this work, some protection guidelines against fault currents used in the field have been validated through the simulation and analytical method.

  • 2차원과 3차원모델에 대해 진동전파구간에 설치된 방진구의 진동차단효과가 주파수영역의 경계요소법에 의해 반무한영역지반과 충진지반에서 검토되었다. 연구결과는, 방진구의 효율이 진동원과 관련된 방진구의 위치 및 깊이에 큰 영향을 받으며, 그들의 최적크기는 진동주파수에 대해 민감한 것을 나타낸다.

  • This paper proposes how to solve a problem of FDM 3D printer's irregular output when changing volume of extrusion, adjusting movement speed of the printer's head and a way to fill new inner part. Existing slicers adjust directly to change the rotation speed of the stepper. In this method, the change of the extrusion area is delayed due to the gap between the stepper and the nozzle, so that precise control is difficult. We control the extrusion area adjusting the moving speed of the print head and making constantly the rotation speed of the stepper. Thus, the output time can be shortened by generating an efficient path having a short travel distance. For evaluation, we applied our method to lithophanes with detailed variation. Comparing existing methods, our method reduced output time at least 30%.

웨이브렛 변환과 RBF 신경망을 이용한 경로통행시간 예측모형 개발 -시내버스 노선운행시간을 중심으로- (Development of path travel time forecasting model using wavelet transformation and RBF neural network)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시 가로망에서의 구간 통행시간을 예측하기 위하여 time-frequency 분석의 일종인 웨이브렛변환과 RBF신경망 모형을 이용한 예측모형을 개발하였다. 웨이브렛 변환을 이용한 시계열 자료 분석을 통해서 통행시간에 내재되어 있는 다양한 패턴의 특징을 추출함으로써 오전/오후의 첨두현상, 신호교차로의 현시주기 등 주기적으로 발생되는 요인들에 의해서 통행시간 시계열 자료의 패턴에 나타나는 규칙성을 분석해 내었다. 분석된 패턴정보에 대한 규명은 카오스 이론을 근간으로한 시간지연좌표를 이용하여 시계열 자료의 규칙성을 시각적으로 판별하여 예측모형 구축에 활용하도록 하였다. 또, RBF신경망을 이용하여 예측범위의 공간적/시간적 확대에 따른 모형 구축에 소요되는 시간을 최소화하도록 하였으며, 시내버스 노선의 정류장간 운행시간 예측을 통해서 기존 연구에서 제기되었던 현실세계의 단순화, 다단계 예측시 정확성 등의 문제를 해결하였다. 예측실험결과 웨이브렛 변환을 데이터의 전처리 과정에 삽입하여 링크 통행시간의 패턴정보 예측에 활용할 경우, 기존의 예측모형에 비해서 훨씬 정확한 예측이 가능한 것으로 나타났으며, RBF 신경망은 짧은 학습시간에도 불구하고 역전파 신경망보다 우수한 예측력을 갖고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

Direct Writing Lithography Technique for Semiconductor Fabrication Process Using Proton Beam

  • Proton beam writing is a direct writing lithography technique for semiconductor fabrication process. The advantage of this technique is that the proton beam does not scatter as they travel through the matter and therefore maintain a straight path as they penetrate into the resist. The experiment has been carried out at Accelerator Mass Spectrometry facility. The focused proton beam with the fluence of $100nC/mm^2$ was exposed on the PMMA coated silicon sample to make a pattern on a photo resist. The results show the potential of proton beam writing as an effective way to produce semiconductor fabrication process.

  • Haul routes for earthmoving operation need to be carefully selected because the decision on the haul routes could make a significant difference in the project's cost and time. This paper proposes a decision support system for improving productivity of earthmoving operation that helps construction managers choose the best haul routes of trucks based on time slots. Also, a methodology for optimal selection of haul routes considering traffic conditions and topographic conditions of the routes is explained. Raster data model is used to find an available shortest path based on cost weighted distance. A system was developed on a geographic information system environment for efficient database management and easy manipulation of graphical data. A real-world case study was conducted to verify the applicability of the proposed system.

  • With the recent development of intelligence and automation technologies for construction machinery, the demand for safety and efficiency of road-cutting operations has continued to increase. In response to this, a double-blade road cutter has been developed that can automatically cut roads. However, a double-blade road cutter has a load difference between the two blades due to the ground and wear conditions of the cutting blades. The difference in load between the two blades distorts the direction of travel of the cutter. In this study, a vision sensor-based driving guide technology was developed to correct the driving path of road cutters. In addition, we developed a load-sensing technology that detects blade loads in real-time and controls driving speed in the event of overload.
