The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of the Korean won exchange rates on the Korean service trade balance. Empirical investigation shows that the USD/KRW and JPY/KRW exchange rates have main effects on the Korean service trade balance. Service balance credit and debit(receipts and payments) are negatively related with the USD/KRW and positively related with the JPY/KRW exchange rate. The depreciation of the USD/KRW and JPY/KRW exchange rates leads to the improvement of the service trade balance. Transportation balance is affected by the USD/KRW, JPY/KRW, and CNY/KRW exchange rates, travel balance by the USD/KRW exchange rate, and other business sevice balance by the USD/KRW and JPY/KRW exchange rates.
It has been widely known that there are so many factors making travel demand errors in transportation forecasting steps. One of the reasons may stem from the level of aggregation of zone and network in analysis process. This paper investigates the effect of level of aggregation considering with number of zones in travel demand forecasting by expanding or reducing the zone and network gradually. Numerical results show that the aggregation could not make a significant impact on the travel demand, while disaggregation does. These results imply that a careful manipulation is required to add or to reduce zones and links in transportation planning process.
Advancements in silicon phase control (SCR) technologies provide an arc welding power supply that has the capability to allow the alteration of the Alternating Current (AC) welding output. These technologies provide a square wave output involving sixteen frequency selections and multiple balance selections. While an AC out put is known to minimize magnetic disturbances associate with Direct Current (DC), the potentials of a non-sinusoidal waveform have not been explored. The focus of the paper is to determine the effects that the frequency and balance of an AC wave form output will have upon a high speed Submerge Arc (SAW) application. The test matrix of the project includes welding .250" steel plate. Joint type is square groove with a travel speed of 65 IPM. Each of the weld parameters was held constant, only the frequency and/or balance were altered between welds. Each frequency/balance combination involved three-gap spacing. Upon completion of the welds the bead profiles were measured and recorded. A relationships/trends were observed with various frequency and balance values. Optimum frequency and balance values were found for the .250" square groove application which permit consistent weld sizing, ease of slag removal, and minimal plate distortion.
The study is examined to illustrate Korea's status in service trade, including travel deficit, outbound travel market, and inbound travel market. This research will also illustrate what factors generate the growth of travel deficit and suggest some alternatives to solve it even if government notes a steady increase in exports of cultural products and programs and entertainment services, driven by the Korean Wave sweeping across Asia. The study suggested some possible alternatives such as growth of travel balance, improvement of low image on Korean tourism, aggressive participation of government, strengthened role of Korean Tourism Organization(KTO), and appropriate control on overseas studies to lessen an increase of travel deficit. In addition, the study concluded, even if a tourism industry includes a higher multiplier effect, the spontaneous participation intention by Koreans themselves and the strong supports from local governments should be another major successful factors to settle down the travel deficit.
Despite of a lot of studies about proprioception tests, there are little study results to investigate the relationship between the functional movement and proprioception level. In this study, we tried to perform quantitative analysis for the effect of ankle joint proprioception level on the one leg standing postural control ability. Nine healthy people volunteered for this study. Force and position aspects of proprioception were evaluated using the electromyography system (EMG) and mobile clinometer application, respectively. The center of pressure (COP) trajectories, measured by a pressure mat sensor, were used for quantitative analysis of balance for each subject. We computed indices and errors of force and position aspects of proprioception from the EMG and ankle angle. Mean velocity of total and anterior-posterior direction (Vm and Vm_ap), root mean squared distance in anterior-posterior direction (RDap), travel length (L), and area (A) of COP trajectories were also calculated as indices of postural control ability of subjects. Two aspects of proprioception showed the low correlation from each other as previous studies. However, the EMG error of gastrocnemius lateral activation showed a high correlation coefficient with COP variables such as Vm (ρ=0.817, p=0.007), Vm_ap (ρ=0.883, p=0.002), RDap (ρ=0.854, p=0.003), L (ρ=0.817, 0.007) and A (ρ=0.700, p=0.036). Within our knowledge, this is almost the first study that investigated the relationship between proprioception level and functional movement. These study results could support that the ankle joint proprioception facilitation exercise would have positive effects on functional balance rehabilitation interventions.
Purpose: Chronic ankle instability is a very common abnormality of the ankle, but there is still controversy regarding its evaluation criteria. The stress view has difficulties in reflecting the patient's symptoms and treatment progress. Therefore, this study examined the relationship between the center of pressure (COP) measured by a pedobarograph and the symptoms of the patient. Materials and Methods: Thirty patients with chronic ankle instability from February to August 2018 were included. Each patient was surveyed with the foot and ankle outcome score (FAOS). The COP was measured with a foot pressure scanner, and the travel distance and ellipse area of the COP were calculated. Each patient was measured on one foot and on two feet with his or her eyes closed and open. The relationship between the COP measurement and FAOS score was analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The participants were consisted of 21 male and nine female, with a mean age of 30 years, mean weight of 72 kg, and mean foot size of 259 mm. With the eyes open, the correlation coefficient between the FAOS and travel distance of the affected side was -0.394 (p<0.05) and that between the FAOS and the ellipse area of the affected side was -0.425 (p<0.05). On the other hand, no significant correlations were found between the travel distance and ellipse area of the affected side when patients closed their eyes. Conclusion: Measurement of the COP using foot pressure scanner could evaluate objectively patients with chronic ankle instability, with measurements in patients with their eyes open being more significant. Based on the findings of this study, an analysis of the COP with the patients with their eyes open and standing on one foot may help determine the management strategy and assess the progress of the patients.

The concept of 'Employer branding' (EB) - one effective and sustainable strategy to attract and retain talent - has received a lot of attention from researchers and business managers. This concept becomes more meaningful when the 'war of talent' takes place in an extremely fierce manner in Vietnam as well as around the world. However, this concept is rather new; as a result, many points related to 'EB' scales should be improved, especially in Vietnamese context. Therefore, this study focuses on developing and confirming the EB scale in the context of Vietnam. Based on EB theory, this research applies the mixed research method: qualitative methods (expert interview and group discussion) and quantitative method (questionnaire survey of 937 respondents). EB is demonstrated to be a quadratic concept, consisting of the following 10 dimensions: Corporate social responsibility (CSR), Promotion (PRO), Work-Life Balance Satisfaction (WLSA), Education (EDU), Behavior-based Family interference with work (WLBE), Travel opportunities (TRA), Time-based work interference with family (WLTI), Teamwork (GRO), Supporting (SUP), and Strain-based family interference with work (WLST) with 58 observed variables. Based on the survey towards the employees in enterprises and organizations in Vietnam, the analysis results affirm that this scale ensures efficiency, reliability, unidirectionality and convergent values.
In an opportunistic network, one of the most challenging issues is the equilibrium of the network traffic and transmission delay for forwarding messages. To resolve this problem, we propose a new forwarding scheme, called the direction entropy-based forwarding scheme (DEFS), using the main direction and direction entropy based on the information collected about the directions of the nodes in the network. Since each node sends a message to another node with a different location and less direction entropy, DEFS utilizes those nodes that are more likely to travel to various locations to forward the messages to the destination nodes. Experiments were performed on the network simulator NS-2. The results show that DEFS provides better balance than the typical forwarding schemes, such as Epidemic, PRoPHET, and WAIT.
Characteristics of lifted flames in axisymmetric laminar coflow jets have been investigated experimentally. Approximate equations for velocity and concentration with virtual origins have been proposed to analyze the behavior of flames in coflow jets. Measuring Rayleigh intensity to investigate the concentration field. proposed approximate equations were confirmed. By using the results of OH PLIF, direct photography and Rayleigh scattering measurement, it is shown that the locations of maximum intensity in direct photography coincide with the tribrachial points in axisymmetric jets and the tribrachial points travel on the stoichiometric contour. For coflow jets, the experimental results of liftoff height have been successfully correlated with nozzle exit velocity using predicted behavior from proposed approximated equations. These results substantiate the stabilization mechanism in coflow jet is based on the balance between flame propagation speed and axial flow velocity, same as for the free jets.
