DCClass: a Tool to Extract Human Understandable Fuzzy Information Granules for Classification

  • In this paper we describe DCClass, a tool for fuzzy information granulation with transparency constraints. The tool is particularly suited to solve fuzzy classification problems, since it is able to automatically extract information granules with class labels. For transparency pursuits, the resulting information granules are represented in form of fuzzy Cartesian product of one-dimensional fuzzy sets. As a key feature, the proposed tool is capable to self-determining the optimal granularity level of each one-dimensional fuzzy set by exploiting class information. The resulting fun information granules can be directly translated in human-comprehensible fuzzy rules to be used for class inference. The paper reports preliminary experimental results on a medical diagnosis problem that shows the utility of the proposed tool.

  • This paper focuses on what the philosophy and methodology of the Theory of Constraints contribute to B2B e-commerce. Typical characteristics of TOC methods applicable to B2B are explored in comparison with traditional MRP, JIT, TQM and cost accounting. Addressed are expected changes in various backend business areas supporting e-commerce. TOC provides B2B management with the capability of logistics transparency, speedy decision making, and better cashflow.

Evaluation of Introducing Feasibility of Blockchain Technology to Food Safety Management Network (식품안전관리망 강화를 위한 블록체인 기술 도입의 적절성 평가)

  • The appropriateness of introducing blockchain technology into food safety management systems was evaluated by conducting a survey of experts on the effectiveness and constraint evaluation indicators, and a portfolio analysis was conducted to set the priorities of blockchain application. The food safety management activities considered in this study were issuing documents on food import/export, food hygiene rating scheme, civil complaint management in the food sector, food- related certification, risk information management, and food traceability systems. The sectors that can be expected to be effective in the introduction of blockchain technology were food- related certification, food hygiene rating scheme, risk information management, and issuing documents on food import/export. In the case of food traceability systems and civil complaint management, the introduction of blockchain technology was not recommended due to ineffectiveness. From the evaluation of the constraints (e.g., technical limits, cost, legal amendment, personal information disclosure, timeliness, and ease of connection) to be overcome when introducing blockchain into food safety management, it was found that there are more than average constraints in all six areas. In particular, the food traceability system was evaluated to have the most constraints. Issuing documents on food import/export is very effective with the introduction of blockchain technology, but due to high cost and legal restrictions, it is necessary to improve the institutional system in order to introduce blockchain. Among the evaluation sectors, food- related certification, food hygiene rating scheme, and risk information management on foods were suitable for preferentially adopting blockchain technology since these areas might experience greatly improved reliability and transparency through the introduction of blockchain, with relatively low constraints.

  • The quality of service delivery by governments to their citizens is a subject of concern in the contemporary society. E-governance is a critical aspect that is transforming government operation and service delivery to citizens and other bodies through application of information technology. This research explores the state of e-governing focusing on nations that are developing with special attention to Pakistan. The difficulties and benefits encountered are identified. The results are vital for implementers of e-governing systems in these countries. The methodology applied entails a secondary research that involves analysis and synthesis of literature relating the research topic. The results reveal that Pakistan has made incredible steps in setting up e-governance systems with growth in internet use and access of data from a digital platform. The findings reveal that e-government is associated with multiple benefits including enhanced quality of services, cost efficiency in service provision, enhance transparency and elimination of corruption, provide the basis for eradication of poverty, boost economic stability of a country, and provide room for direct democracy. The research also found that developing countries experience challenges in form of financial constraints, poor ICT infrastructure, illiteracy on e-government, political consensus constraints, legal obstacles, social and cultural constraints. E-government has the capability to transform the quality of governance provided by governments, and policymakers and implementers should address the constraints that act as a hindrance to its implementation.

Examination of Proliferation Resistance Assessment for Nuclear Fuel Cycles

  • There are many factors to evaluate nuclear fuel cycle such as safety, public acceptance, economics, etc.. Transparency, proliferation, environment issues, public acceptance and safety are essential to expansion of nuclear industry and proliferation resistance is one of key constraints in the deployment of advanced nuclear energy systems. Proliferation resistance is being considered as one of the most important factors in assessing advanced and innovative nuclear systems. IAEA defmes proliferation resistance as characteristics of nuclear energy system that impedes the diversion or undeclared production of nuclear material [1]. Barriers to proliferation is consist of intrinsic and extrinsic barriers(institutional measures). Intrinsic barriers are characterized in material barriers and technical barriers in general. Material barriers is intrinsic, or inherent, qualities of materials that reduce the inherent desirability or attractiveness of the material as an explosive. Isotopic, chemical, radiological, mass and bulk, detectability barriers are considered as material barriers attributes [2]. Proliferation resistance is examined for several nuclear fuel cycles based on previous study which is focused on the intrinsic barriers [3-4]. Pyroprocessing and DUPIC are considered as reprocessing technologies in Korea and the PWR direct disposal is considered. Comparative assessments of the proliferation attributes and merits of different fuel cycle systems will be performed and the optimal back-end fuel cycle and strategy will be proposed.

China's Economic Slow-down and the Middle-Income Trap Controversy (중국의 저성장과 '중진국함정론'에 근거한 위기요인 분석)

  • This paper first extracts the main basis for the Middle-Income Trap(MIT) to apply these grounds to reality of the Chinese economy. And then confirmed crisis factors of China economy. Also discussed then the economic reforms of China in order to not fall into the MIT. After reviewing previous research extracted six factors the results will correspond to comply with the Chinese economy. Those are 'Over-investment', 'excess capacity' 'reduction of TFP continued,' 'disappearance and the aging of the population bonus', 'excessive debt and structural adjustment and financial instability of the company', 'income unequal expansion', 'low financial and information infrastructure accessibility', and 'low transparency index'. China's policy direction to avoid the MIT generally set properly, but proof that implementation process not easy, was appearing everywhere. After all, China economy should be modified now to a reforms of 'government failure' and promotion of function for ongoing restructuring system in the market. Because of the SDR incorporation from 2015, it is inevitable to face major constraints in the external aspects.

An Implementation of JTAG API to Perform Dynamic Program Analysis for Embedded Systems (임베디드 시스템 동적 프로그램 분석을 위한 JTAG API 구현)

  • Debugger systems are necessary to apply dynamic program analysis when evaluating security properties of embedded system software. It may be possible to make the use of software-based debugger and/or DBI framework if target devices support general purpose operating systems, however, constraints on applicability as well as environmental transparency might be incurred thereby hindering overall analyzability. Analysis with JTAG (IEEE 1149.1) debugging devices can overcome these difficulties in that no change would be involved in terms of internal software environment. In that sense, JTAG API can facilitate to practically perform dynamic program analysis for evaluating security properties of target device software. In this paper, we introduce an implementation of JTAG API to enable analysis of ARM core based embedded systems. The API function set includes the categories of debugger and target device controls: debugging environment and operation. To verify API applicability, we also provide example analysis tool implementations: our JTAG API could be used to build kernel function fuzzing and live memory forensics modules.

Stereoscopic depth of surfaces lying in the same visual direction depends on the visual direction of surface features (표면 요소의 시선방향에 의한 동일시선 상에 놓여있는 표면의 입체시 깊이 변화)

  • When two objects are tying in the same visual direction there occurs abrupt depth change between two objects, which is against the assumption of the computational model for stereopsis on the surfaces in a natural scene. For this reason, this stimulus configuration is popularly used in the studies for the effectiveness of the constraints employed in the computational model. Contrary to the results from two nails (or objects) tying in the same visual direction, the two different surfaces from random-dot stereogram (RDS) in the same situation can be seen simultaneously in the different depth. The seemingly contradictory results between two situations my reflect the different strategies imposed by binocular mechanism for each situation during binocular matching process. Otherwise, the surfaces tying in the same visual direction is not equivalent situation to two objects tying in the same visual direction with regards to matching process. In order to examine above possibilities, the stereoscopic depth of the surface was measured after manipulating the visual direction of the surface elements. The visual direction of each dot pair from different surfaces in RDS (in Experiment 1) or the visual direction of line (hawing rectangle with regard to that of the vertical line (in Experiment 2) was manipulated. The stereoscopic depth of the surface was found to be varied depending on visual direction of the surface elements in both RDS and line hawing stimulus. Similar to the results from two nails situation depth of the surface was greatly reduced when each surface element was tying in the same visual direction as that of the other surface element or the other object. These results suggest that binocular mechanism imposes no different strategy in resolving correspondence problem in both two objects and two surfaces situation. And the results were discussed in the context of usefulness of the constraints employed in the computational model for stereopsis.
