A Real-Time Multimedia Data Transmission Rate Control Using Neural Network Prediction Model (신경 회로망 예측 모델을 이용한 실시간 멀티미디어 데이터 전송률 제어)

  • This paper proposes a neural network prediction model to improve the valid packet transmission rate for the QoS(Quality of Service) of multimedia transmission. The Round Trip Time(RTT) and Packet Loss Rate(PLR) are predicted using a neural network and then the transmission rate is decided based on the predicted RTT and the PLR. The suggested method will improve the transmission rate since it uses the rate control factors corresponding to time of data is being transmitted, while the conventional one uses the transmission rate determined based on the past informations. An experimental set-up has been established using a Linux PC system, and the multimedia data are transmitted using UDP protocol in real time. The valid transmitted packets are about 5% higher than the one in the conventional TCP-Friendly congestion control method when the suggested algorithm was applied.

  • The USN is important in technique, unmanned observation using wireless network camera, detection technique that use intrusion detection sensor. But these encrypted data transmission and processing technique through sensor network, method of the staff's location recognition and arrangement aren't serviced still as a integrated system in facility security industry. This paper proposed that improve facility management, the staff present recognition and system efficiency using RFID, USN and wireless camera.

  • In this paper, we have studied the devices needed for long distance wireless transmission of SDH network. This devices propose wireless transmission and measurement method of STM-1(basic transmission unit of SDH method) signal and 200Mbps synchronous ethernet. The synchronous clock recovery function is provided for STM-N transmission and synchronous ethernet transmission, and spare clock switching function is designed for stable synchronization. In addition, we discussed the measurement method of STM-N and synchronous Etherent communication method in wireless transmission section.

  • During the major sections of the network, Software-defined network control technology for the network area corresponding to the transmission network is becoming a change in network-controlled environments utilizing network operation and provisioning across the network industry. Currently development is underway along with the deployment of PTN equipment and configuration for provisioning is being phased out. It is actively introducing establishment of SDN-based control system while constructing provisioning of PTN equipment from actual commercial network. Therefore, in this thesis, we are going to look at the contents and trends of SDN systems in packet-based transmission networks based on PTN and use them in research on OpenDaylight, an open source for configuring SDN. It then Network Operator will study the software defined control techniques for operational education.

  • Lightning induced faults accounts for more than 66% at the transmission lines of KEPCO. The lightning causes damages to power system equipments including transmission line, the shut down of electricity and the electro-magnetic interference. Because of this reason, we need the real time lightning information for the optimal operation of power system. And, it is required to obtain and accumulate the lightning current parameters for the insulation design. A lightning detection system, LPATS, has been operated since 1995 in KEPCO. For the improved detection efficiency, we had in stalled the new lightning detection network named as KLDNet in 2005. Also, we had developed the new software for the lightning parameters analysis and real time information service on the WEB. In this paper, we would like to introduce about the new system.

  • In this paper, it is focused on the design of the FEP system that executes the access control programs instead of the hos processor. And so the FEP system improves the network flexibility and redues the installation costs of network. The design criterion of the FEP system is based on the ISDN construction which presents the information channel in thr future information society. The proposed hardwares and transmission softwares use the basic transmission rate of 64Kbps, and the contents of file service throuth this FEP system are listed by FTAM services.

  • This paper presents an integrated fault diagnosis expert system for power systems. The proposed system diagnoses various faults occurred in both substations and transmission lines even in the case that substation fault is spreaded over the network. To cope with this problem, A meta-inference method is proposed. This scheme shares same the data structure with the pre-developed intelligent operational aid expert system installed in a practical sub-control center, without modification. This advanced integrated diagnosis system is developed using a low cost personal computer owing to the special modular programming technique. Case studies show a promising possibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper presents a network based fire detection system using CAN, in order to evaluate feasibility of home automation protocol for smart home. In general, because a traditional fire detection system has an analog transmission method with 4-20mA current, it has several shortcomings such as weakness to noise. Hence, as an alternative to the traditional system, this paper presents the architecture of CAN based fire detection system and the design method of CAN communication network. Also, the performance of the suggested system is evaluated through an experimental testbed. Especially, CAN has several advantages such as low cost and easiness of implementation compared to Ethernet or ARCNET, which are low layer of BACNet. Therefore, if CAN is adopted as low layer of BACNet, the home automation system is implemented more effectively.

  • This paper described the implementation of high speed transmission fort medical image between hospitals using ISDN. The implemented system, called PC-card, can transmit datas as 144Kbps and can install in the personal computer. So, this enables to get more reliable medical image with less cost, and to service the better quality for an unurbanized area. SynRM Driving CVT System Using an ARGOPNN with MPSO Control System

  • Due to nonlinear-synthetic uncertainty including the total unknown nonlinear load torque, the total parameter variation and the fixed load torque, a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) driving a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system causes a lot of nonlinear effects. Linear control methods make it hard to achieve good control performance. To increase the control performance and reduce the influence of nonlinear time-synthetic uncertainty, an admixed recurrent Gegenbauer orthogonal polynomials neural network (ARGOPNN) with a modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) control system is proposed to achieve better control performance. The ARGOPNN with a MPSO control system is composed of an observer controller, a recurrent Gegenbauer orthogonal polynomial neural network (RGOPNN) controller and a remunerated controller. To insure the stability of the control system, the RGOPNN controller with an adaptive law and the remunerated controller with a reckoned law are derived according to the Lyapunov stability theorem. In addition, the two learning rates of the weights in the RGOPNN are regulating by using the MPSO algorithm to enhance convergence. Finally, three types of experimental results with comparative studies are presented to confirm the usefulness of the proposed ARGOPNN with a MPSO control system.
