  • In this paper, a new kind of wideband, low-loss composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) and a Wilkinson power divider are presented. The TL is composed of a parallel meander inductor and a series cutting capacitor based on coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure. The power divider is designed by substituting the CRLH-TL into the conventional transmission line. The experiment results show that the TL has a good agreement with the desired results, exhibiting the return losses under 12 dB from 8.4 GHz to 34.4 GHz. The operating frequencies of the power divider are 12.05 GHz to 13.15 GHz and 16.50 GHz to 19.30 GHz, respectively. The 20 dB bandwidths are 8.9 % and 17.9 %, respectively. Typical experimental measurements are conducted and compared with the simulated results.

  • In this paper, the spiral zeroth-order resonance (ZOR) antenna using composite right- and left-handed (CRLH) transmission line is proposed. The zeroth-order resonant characteristics of the antenna are described by dispersion relation of a periodic structure. The size of the $2{\times}2$ spiral ZOR antenna is $0.155{\lambda}_{0}{\times}0.155{\lambda}_{0}$. By increasing shunt inductance of CRLH transmission line, the size of this antenna is reduced by 65% compared with that of a mushroom ZOR antenna. The radiation pattern of this antenna have omnidirectional pattern which is similar to that of mushroom ZOR antenna.

  • By wireless transmission data, there is high possibility to get distortion and lose by noise and barrier on wireless. If the data check damaged and lost at receiver, can't make it clear and can't judge whether this data is right or not. Therefore, by wireless transmission data need the data error check algorithm in order to decrease the data's distortion and lose and to monitoring the transmission data as real time. This study consists of RF station for wireless transmission, Water Level Meter station for water level measurement and Error check algorithm for error check of transmission data. This study is also that investigation and search for error check algorithm in order to wireless digital data transmission in condition of the least data's damage and lose. Designed transmitter and receiver with one - chip micro process to protect to swell the volume of circuit. Had designed RF transmitter - receiver station simply by means of ATMEL one - chip micro process in the systems. Used 10mW of the best RF power and 448MHz-449MHz on frequency band which can get permission to use by Frequency Law made by Korean government

  • A major portion of the capital costs in the present day power transmission systems are due to the cost of equipment and construction process. Transmission utilities in the recent years are drawing greater attention towards performing life cycle costing studies for cost management and decision making. However, the data involved in these studies are highly uncertain and the effect of these uncertainties cannot be directly included in the study process, resulting in inaccurate solutions. Interval mathematics provides a method for including these uncertainties throughout the cost analysis and provides final solution range in the form of intervals. In this regard, it is essential and extremely important that significant research has to be carried out in understanding the principles of life cycle costing methodology and its applicability to cost analysis of transmission lines along with uncertainties involved in the cost assessment process. In this paper, economic analysis of power transmission lines using interval mathematics has been studied. Life cycle costing studies are performed using net present value analysis on a range transmission lines used in India and the results are analyzed. A cost break even analysis considering right of way costs was carried out to determine the point of economy indifference.

  • In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a receiver module for 5.8GHz Microwave Wireless Power Transmission. The receiver module was composed of an antenna, BPF (Band Pass Filter) and RF-DC converter. The antenna was designed to RHCP (Right Hand Circular Polarization). And we used ${\lambda}g/2$ open-circuited stubs for the BPF. In addition, the RF-DC converter used the tripler voltage circuit for voltage multipliers. The integrated receiver RF module for 5.8GHz Microwave Wireless Power Transmission has been designed and fabricated. The voltage was measured to the distance of 50cm.

  • A design method for minimizing transmission loss of a broadband right-angle transition from a coaxial cable to a microstrip line is presented. The right-angle transition has been widely used where printed circuit applications need to be fed from behind the ground plane using coaxial line. To obtain the minimized transmission loss over the whole operating frequency range of the transition, design parameters such as ground aperture and probe diameters, ground aperture offset, and stub length are optimized using a commercial electromagnetic simulation software. Results are presented for the optimum right-angle transition from an SMA connector to a microstrip line on common reinforced 0.787 mm thick PTFE substrates. Measurements of a fabricated transition show that reflection coefficient is less than -22 dB and insertion loss is less than 0.45 dB over $0.05{\sim}20GHz$.

  • This paper presents a novel balanced mixer receiver front-end design based on a metamaterial structure applicable to differential-/common-mode excitation. This metamaterial structure functions as a leaky-wave antenna and provides in-trinsic common-mode suppression. Low LO leakage and high RF to LO isolation are achieved without additional filters for LO and RF paths. The metamaterial is based on a unit-cell which under a differential-mode excitation behaves like a composite right/left-handed(CRLH) metamaterial. In contrast, the metamaterial unit-cell is below cut-off under a common-mode excitation. Experimental results are used to verify the proposed metamaterial's differential-/common-mode characteristics. The metamaterial is integrated with a balanced mixer design resulting in an operation frequency range of $1.96{\sim}2.40$ GHz with an optimum mixer conversion loss of 21.1 dB at 2,4 GHz.

  • In this paper, a composite right-/left-handed(CRLH) rectangular waveguide satisfying a balanced condition above the cut-off frequency is presented. The proposed structure consists of one shorted stub and two twisted H-plane irises which produce an effectively negative permeability and permittivity, respectively. The CRLH structure can independently control the series and shunt resonance frequencies of a CRLH transmission line which determine the left-handed(LH) and right-handed(RH) bands due to a minimized coupling between a shorted stub and twisted H-plane irises. Thus, the design of the CRLH waveguide satisfying a balanced condition is possible. To analyze the CRLH structure, a crossly connected equivalent circuit is derived. The simulated and measured results confirm that the proposed CRLH waveguide has a transmission property without a band gap among the LH and RH bands.

  • Electro-hydraulic transmission (HST) and an electronic control system was designed, and performance of the components were investigated through indoor tests. When input values for HST swash plate control were given at 3 levels (5, 10, 13 degrees) in forward and reverse directions, the errors were less than 0.6 degrees. Response time was in ranges of 0.14 ~ 0.16 s and 0.16 ~ 0.2 s for forward and reverse direction controls while driving, and the values were 0.23 ~ 0.25 s and 0.18 ~ 0.23 s at static condition, respectively. Similar experiments for left and right steering resulted errors less than 0.5 degrees. Resonse time was in ranges of 0.16 ~ 0.22 s and 0.11 ~ 0.23 s for left and right turns while driving, and the values were 0.07 ~ 0.21 s and 0.09 ~ 0.14 s at static condition, respectively. From frequency response experiments, control system appeared to follow sine waves appropriately at frequencies less than 0.8 Hz with gain of 0.11 dB and 0.09 dB for forward and reverse direction controls, respectively, and the gain decreased above the frequency. Phase difference showed a gradual increase and were less than 45 degree up to 0.8 Hz. Similar experiments for left and right streering showed that the control system appeared to follow sine waves appropriately at frequencies less than 0.8 Hz with gain of 0.28 dB and 0.26 dB for left and right steering controls, respectively, and the gain decreased above the frequency. Phase difference showed a gradual increase and were less than 45 degree up to 0.8 Hz, which was the same as for the forward and reverse controls.
