  • In this paper, we present the 8 port in-phase power divider using right/left-handed transmission line. The proposed power divider splits the input power into 8 port regardless of the electrical length of transmission lines. Its size is much smaller than the conventional one. As the length of the transmission line in the power divider decreases, its bandwidth becomes wider.

  • Transmission congestion is one of the key factors to local market power in competitive electricity markets. Financial transmission rights provide the financia] protection to their holders by paying back the congestion rent. A variety researches have shown that the existing trading mechanisms on transmission right can exacerbate market power. This paper proposes an alternative methodology in mitigating the local market power using the Contingent Transmission Rights on the locational marginal pricing scheme. The proposed methodology was demonstrated with the Optimal Power Flow.

  • This paper proposed a dual-band RF switch using a Composite Right/Left Handed transmission line(CRLH TL) and PIN diode. RF switch is usually consist of $\lambda/4$ Right Handed transmission line(RH TL) and PIN diode. The dual band characteristics of RF switch was achieved by using CRLH transmission line instead of RH transmission line. CRLH Open-Stub was designed for resolve to reduction of isolation due to Package Inductance of PIN diode. The proposed RF switch was designed at GSM and DCS frequency-band. The measurement results showed a good agreement with theoretical result.

  • LMP based congestion management method is suggested as an effective tool, because network congestion can be handled by energy price. It is now being widely used in the North American Electricity Markets. Among them, FGR(Flow-gate rights) is considered to be appropriate for our system, as power flow through the congested line is unidirectional and congestion occurs in the known place. In the CBP market, hedging through transmission right is not necessary even though location pricing system is adopted, because there are no risks in the energy price. Rut, transmission rights should be adopted in the advanced market. Key issue when implementing FGR is how to decide transmission right issuance quantify. This paper deals with a method to decide transmission right issuance quantity by using power. Transfer Distribution Factor(PTDF).

  • A novel tunable bandstop filter was proposed. It is composed of a right-handed transmission line, which has lowpass characteristics, and a left-handed transmission line which has highpass characteristics. Dispersion relations for the unit cells of RHTL and LHTL were derived by the method of ABCD parameter analysis. Varactor diodes and chip inductors were used to make the unit cells of RHTL and LHTL. A tunable bandstop filter was designed and fabricated by the parallel connection of RHTL and LHTL. The measured results of the proposed tunable bandstop filter are agreed well with the simulated results.

  • A novel frequency multiplier using composite right/left-handed transmission line is proposed. The left-handed transmission line in the proposed frequency multiplier suppresses the fundamental component($f_0$), while the composite right/left-handed ${\lambda}/4$ open stub diminishes unwanted harmonics. Due to the combination of the left-handed transmission line and composite right/left-handed ${\lambda}/4$ open stub, the only desirable multiplied frequency component such as 3 $f_0$ and 4 $f_0$ are obtained at the output port excellently. For the example of the proposed design, frequency multipliers are designed at 1 GHz of $f_0$ and measured. The measured output power of 3 $f_0$ and 4 $f_0$ is -5.67 dBm and -6.43 dBm, respectively, when the fundamental input power was 0 dBm.

  • The large increase in the use of electricity has resulted in an ever-growing electric power demand. It has created the need for the construction of power transmission facility located close to the load centers and it also has to require wide right-of-way and large lots, that are not always available, for especially the installation of the towers. The difficulties in acquiring right-of-way have put pressure on energy companies to either upgrade a line on an existing right-of-way to higher voltage or build a new line on a narrow right-of-way. This paper presents the design of a compact tower with polymer Insulation arm, in order to reduce the separation between phases. the compact tower can be built on a narrow right-of-way. the compact tower can be designed based on 345 kV Tower regarding electrical clearances and right of way, therefore the conventional 154 kV Tower can be upgrading transmission line voltages have moved to 345 kV levels.

  • This paper proposes a modified Wilkinson power divider using a zero-degree composit right/left-handed(CRLH) transmission line to obtain a isolation between ports. A zero-degree CRLH transmission line, which has a total electrical length of zero, consists of a RH(Right-Handed) transmission line of a negative phase characteristic and a LH (Left-Handed) transmission line of a positive phase characteristic. To validate a value of zero-degree CRLH transmission line, the electrical lengths of RH and LH transmission line select $-30^{\circ}$ and $+30^{\circ}$ and a 2-way Wilkinson divider designed, we are measured S21 of -3.3dB, S11 of -27.5dB and S23 of -25dB at 1GHz center frequency. These characteristics are same the conventional divider using RH transmission line.

  • In this paper, we propose to analyze the physical characteristics of a planar dual-composite right-left handed transmission line by a common application of Bond Graph approach and Scattering formalism (Methodology S.BG). The technique, we propose consists, on the one hand, of modeling of a dual composite right-left metamaterial transmission line (D-CRLH-TL) by Bond Graph approach, and, it consists of extracting the equivalent circuit of this studied structure. On the other hand, it consists to exploiting the scattering parameters (Scattering matrix) of the DCRLH-TL using the methodology which we previously developed since 2009. Finally, the validation of the proposed and used technique is carried out by comparisons between the simulations results with ADS and Maple (or MatLab).
