General Mechanical Structures have various and complex vibration transmission paths. In order to identify the mechanism of vibration transmission. The correct estimation of exciation forces and the exact modeling of transmission paths are required. In this paper, vector synthesis technique is employed to identify the characteristics of vibration input and it's transmission to body structure for the mounting system of a compressor in a refrigerator. Vibration reduction efficiency of each transmission path is evaluated by comparing individual vector components obtained before and after the paths from experimental research. The degree of effect is used to estimate the contribution of vibration input components to total output. And this paper presents a new technique based on simulation studies using vector synthesis dragram, by which the effects of change of the magnitude and phase of transmission paths can be predicted.

Vibration intensity has been used to identify the location of a vibration source in a vibrating system. By using vectors representation, the source of the power flow and the vibration energy transmission paths can be revealed. However, due to the large surface area of a plate-like structure, clear transmission paths cannot be achieved using the vectors representation. Experimentally, for a large surface object, the number of measured points will also be increased. This requires a lot of time for measurement. In this study, streamlines representation is used to clearly indicate the power flow transmission paths at all surface plate for FEM and experiment. To clearly improve the vibration intensity transmission paths, streamlines representation from experimental works and FEM computations are compared. Improved transmission paths visualization for both FEM and experiment are shown in comparison to conventional vectors representation. These streamlines visualization is useful to clearly identify vibration source and detail energy transmission paths especially for large surface plate-like structures. Not only that, this visualization does not need many measured point either for experiment or FEM analysis.

It is necessary to determine the vibration source and its transmission paths in order to develop a low-noise compressor Through the use of multiple-input/single-output(MISO) model, the transmission paths of vibration within a reciprocating compressor have been investigated. In order to identify the transmission path, we measure the accelerations of the block and transverse vibrations of the line discharge tube. (omitted)
Linear cyclic systems (LCS's) are a class of systems whose dynamic behavior changes periodically. Such a cyclic behavior is ubiquitous in systems with fundamentally repetitive motion. Yet, the knowledge of the noise and vibration transmission paths in LCS's is quite limited due to the time-varying nature of their dynamics. The first part of this two-part paper derives a generic expression that describes how the noise and/or vibration are transmitted between two (or multiple) points in the LCS's. In Part II, experimental validation of the theoretical development of Part I is provided. The noise and vibration transmission paths of the scroll and rotary compressors (two typical LCS's) are examined to show that the LCS's indeed generate a series of amplitude modulated input signals at the output, where the carrier frequencies are harmonic multiples of the LCS' fundamental frequency. The criterion proposed in Part I to determine how well a given LCS can be approximated as a linear time-invariant systems (LTIS) is applied to the noise and vibration transmission paths of the two compressors. Furthermore, the implications of the experimental validations/applications are discussed in order to assess the applicability of the noise/vibration source and transmission path identification techniques based on the assumption that the system under consideration is linear and time-invariant.

Multipath routing technique is recognized as one of the effective approaches to improve the reliability of data forwarding. However, the traditional multipath routing focuses only on how many paths are needed to ensure a desired reliability. For this purpose, the protocols construct additional paths and thus cause significant energy consumption. These problems have motivated the study for the energy-efficient and reliable data forwarding. Thus, this paper proposes an energy-efficient concurrent multipath routing protocol with a small number of paths based on interaction between paths. The interaction between paths helps to reinforce the multipath reliability by making efficient use of resources. The protocol selects several nodes located in the radio overlapped area between a pair of paths as bridge nodes for the path-interaction. In order to operate the bridge node efficiently, when the transmission failure has detected by overhearing at each path, it performs recovery transmission to recover the path failure. Simulation results show that proposed protocol is superior to the existing multipath protocols in terms of energy consumption and delivery reliability.
Passive type mufflers installed on every car haute inherent problem of lowering engine power and fuel efficiency caused by backpressure which is byproduct of complex internal structure. Recent improvements like installing a calve to change exhaust gas path depending on power requirement and rpm have only marginally improved performance. Tremendous amount of recent research works on active exhaust noise control have failed to commercialize because of numerous physical and economical reasons. In this paper, a unique seal-active muffler using difference of transmission paths is presented. In this system exhaust pipe is divided into two and joined again downstream. Exhaust noise is reduced by destructive interference when two-divided noise join again with transmission paths'difference which is half of the wavelength of a main noise frequency. One divided path has a sliding mechanism to change length thereby transmission path length difference is adjusted to entwine rpm change. The proposed system has minimal backpressure and does not need a secondary sound source like a speaker so it can overcome many problems of failed active noise control methods. We have verified proposed system's superior performance by simulation and comparison experiment with passive mufflers.

The eccentric rotor system has various problems by vibration of unbalance mass. Specially, it is difficult to analyze vibration problem for the drum washing machine due to correlation of transmission paths. We analyze the mechanical structure by multidimensional spectral density to identify the maximum vibration magnitude at the frequency domain. It estimates the coherence function of the signals to pass the transmission paths. In case of the drum washing machine, because the transmission paths are correlated partially it needs to determinate the priority ranking. And the correlated parts are eliminated using conditioned spectral density function. Finally the shielding effect method confirms the reasonability of the modeling.
The mobile network allows redundant transmission via disjoint paths to support high-reliability communication (e.g., ultrareliable and low-latency communications [URLLC]). Although redundant transmission can improve communication reliability, it also increases network costs (e.g., traffic and control overhead). In this study, we propose a reliability-guaranteed multipath allocation algorithm (RG-MAA) that allocates appropriate paths by considering the path setup time and dynamicity of the reliability paths. We develop an optimization problem using a constrained Markov decision process (CMDP) to minimize network costs while ensuring the required communication reliability. The evaluation results show that RG-MAA can reduce network costs by up to 30% compared with the scheme that uses all possible paths while ensuring the required communication reliability.

Vibration intensity has been used to localize vibration source of a vibrating system. Not only that, vibration intensity has also been used for structural diagnostic in identifying crack and mounted stiffeners. To clearly identify the location of vibration source and understand the changes of energy transmission path, clear flow visualization is required. Most of previous works used vectors to indicate the magnitude and direction of emerging vibration energy and transmission paths. However, due to the large surface area of a plate like-structure, clear transmission paths cannot be achieved using vector visualization. This becomes an issue when detail vector flow at all locations of the whole plate surface is required. In this study, streamlines visualization is used to clearly indicate the power flow transmission path at all plate surface. By using streamlines representation, not only clear transmission paths are obtained, but also improves the vector visualization which helps us to understand the changes of the energy flow especially for stiffened plates. In this study, vibration intensity computation is firstly compared to previous work to validate the vibration intensity computation. To clearly show the power flow transmission paths, streamlines representation is shown. This representation overcomes the unclear vector direction especially for stiffened plates. Different pattern of energy transmission path can be observed using streamlines representation for stiffened and unstiffened plate. The complex streamlines pattern can also be observed at high resonance frequencies which is unclear by using vector representation.

In this paper, the experimental study on the identification of noise sources and noise transmission paths was carried out for the cabin noise control of construction equipment. In order to investigate noise and vibration characteristics of cabin structure, sound absorption, transmission, and radiation tests were performed using cabin assembly models. The noise/vibration source levels were obtained from the real cabins of wheel loader and excavator. Using transfer functions of cabins and real cabins' source data, cabin noise was decomposed into airborne and structureborne noise transmissions. Finally noise sources and major transmission paths were successfully identified for wheel loader and excavator's cabins.
