Extrusion is one of the most important processes in polymer industry. The characterization of the polymer melt during processing will improve this process noticeably, One possibility of characterizing the actual processed polymer melt is the inline near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, With this method several polymer properties can be observed during processing, e.g. composition, moisture ormechanical properties of the melt. For this purpose probes for transmission and reflection measurements have been developed, withstanding the high temperatures and pressures appearing during extrusion process (tested up to 300$^{\circ}C$ and 10 ㎫). For the transmission system an optical bypass was developed to eliminate disturbing spectral influences and hence increase the long term stability, which is the prerequisite for an industrial application. Measurements in transmission and reflection produced comparable results (or blending processes, where the prediction error was less than 1%. An optimum RMSEP of only 0.24% was found for preprocessed polymer blends measured in transmission on a laboratory extruder. A transflection measurement allowed for the first time the recording of relevant NIR-spectra in the screw area of an extruder. The application to a (PE+PP) blending process delivered promising results. This new measurement mode allows the observation of the ongoing processes within the screw area, which is of maximum Interest for reactive extrusion processes. Due to economic reasons the calibration transfer between different extrusion systems is also of high importance. Investigations on simulated and real-world spectra showed that a calibration transfer is possible. A new method alternatively to the well-known direct standardization procedures was developed, which is based on an automatic data pretreatment. This procedure delivers comparable results for the calibration transfer. Overall this paper presents concepts, components and algorithms for the inline near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy for polymer extrusion, which allows the use of it in a real industrial extrusion process.

In this paper, we evaluate the performance of multi-hop transmissions in IEEE 802.15.6 ultra wide band (UWB) wireless body area network (WBAN). The packet structure in the physical layer, and encoding and decoding are considered for multi-hop transmissions in IEEE 802.15.6 UWB WBAN. We analyze the data success rate and energy efficiency of multi-hop transmissions with considering the length of data payload, transmission power, and distances between the nodes in IEEE 802.15.6 UWB WBAN. Through simulations, we evaluate the data success rate and energy efficiency of multi-hop transmissions with varying the length of data payload, transmission power, and distances between the nodes in IEEE 802.15.6 UWB WBAN. Finally, we can select an energy-efficient multi-hop transmission in IEEE 802.15.6 UWB WBAN depending on the length of data payload, transmission power, and distances between the nodes.
As a result of reducing color information and edge information, object distinction in haze image occurs with difficulty. One of the famous defogging algorithm is haze removal by using 'Dark Channel Prior(DCP)', which is used to predict for transmission rate using color information of an image and eliminates haze from the image. But, In case that haze rate is estimated under color information, there is a miscalculated issue which is posed by haze rate and transmission in area with high brightness such as a white object or a light source. In this paper, We deal with a miscalculated issue by correcting from around haze rate, after application of color normalization used by main white part of image haze. Moreover, We calculation improved transmission based on the result of improved haze rate estimation. And then haze image quality is developed through refining transmission.
An integrated command system is critical for the safety of firefighters and effective work in the headquarters of a special disaster areas such as natural disaster or large man-made hazard. The integrated command system requires environmental information such as temperature, humidity, and $CO_2$ levels, as well as personal physical information such as pulse and air respirator levels. An Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) chip converts sensed information into digital signals, and a Micro Controller Unit (MCU) transmits the digital signals to a transmission board using serial communication through a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The digital signals are saved in a transmission board and transmitted to the integrated command system by a Radio Frequency (RF) unit. The location of fire-fighters in a building are determined using a gyro sensor and an inertial sensor. The collected information is applied to the integrated command system for firefighter safety and to ensure that they can effectively carry out their duties. Tthis study theoretically and experimentally investigated the technologies of RF transmission, indoor position, and an integrated command system that supports decision making using the transmitted information.

In an effort to find the optimum porous of Taewoo through the mathematical model 2 - dimensional tank water experiment among the approached to a problem related to ocean engineering, this study analyzed the porosity by dividing it into 9 cases. As the wave penetrates through the longitudinal porous of the Taewoo model, it was found that there is a wave energy loss because of the phenomenon of the separation of the porous due to the eddy. Looking into the general tendency based on the wave-height meter (probe) data, it was found that the shorter wavelength and higher frequency area, the more reflection coefficients increased, but in contrast, the longer wavelength and lower frequency area, the transmission coefficients showed the increasing trend and energy dissipation was in a similar way with reflection coefficients. In addition, it was found that the bigger the porosity was, the narrower distribution range of reflection coefficients was, and the more its average value decreased. On the other hand the transmission coefficients in direct opposition to reflection was found to show the wider range and the more gradual increase in the average value as porosity was the bigger around the average value. In contrast, energy dissipation rate was found to increase linearly as porosity increased the more around the porosity of 0.2518 but it decreased gradually around the peak point. Through the above results, it is judged that the porous of optimum in the longitudinal direction of the Taewoo model perforated plate was about 2.6cm because it was found that the porosity which produced the lowest reflection and transmission coefficient and the highest energy dissipation. As a result of comparing this to the case where there was no porosity at all, it showed the function of wave absorbing about 31.60%.

As massive integration technology of transistors has been developing, multi-core circuit is fabricated on a silicon chip and a clock frequency is getting faster to meet the system requirement. But increasing the clock frequency can induce some problems to violate the operation of system such as clock synchronization, so it is very import to avoid metastability events to design digital chips. In this paper, metastability windows are measured by bisection method in H-spice depending on temperature, supply voltage, and the size of transmission gate with D-FF designed with 180nm CMOS process. The simulation results show that the metastability window(: MW) is slightly increasing to temperature and supply voltage, but is quadratic to the area of a transmission gate, and the best area ration of P and Ntransitor in transmission gate is P/N=4/2 to get the least MW.

In this paper, we proposed WBAN system model to management an application that requires low rate data transfer in IEEE 802.15.4. We have to use different wireless sensor network technology to transfer different date rate and emergency message in medical application service. A suitable system model for WBAN and a WBAN MAC protocol in order to solve these existing system problems are proposed. Firstly, the priority queuing was applied to contention access period, and the system model which could guarantee transmission of a MAC command frame was proposed. Secondly, the MAC frame was newly defined to use the system model which was proposed above. Thirdly, WBAN CSMA/CA back-off algorithm based on data transmission rate was proposed to enhance data throughput and transmission probability of the data frame which does not have priority in the proposed WBAN system. The proposed algorithm is designed to be variable CSMA/CA algorithm parameter, depending on data rate. For the evaluation of WBAN CSMA/CA algorithm, we used Castalia. As a result of the simulation, it is found that the proposed system model can not only relieve loads of data processing, but also probability of collision was decreased.

As the capacity of the wireless power transmission increases, a higher supply current which may induce current in nearby conductive parts requires. Induced current may affect electric shock to the human body and malfunction of the electrical equipment. In order to prevent such induced phenomena as a risk factor, shielding is required between the source of the wireless power transmission and the conductive parts. The resonance frequency for the large capacity wireless power transmission has the wavelength of several hundred meters, so most environments are included in the near-field area. By wave impedance, the electric field has higher density in the near-field area and needs to be analyze for protecting. For this purpose, it is necessary to select a substance having a larger electric conductivity and optimized shielding structure. In this paper, an aluminum base shielding structure was presented to conduct experiments on thickness, position, and heat dissipation. In the 35 kW, 60 kHz environments, the optimized 5T Al base shielding structure attenuates the induced current to 43 %.
The submerged U-shape breakwater interaction with the solitary wave is simulated by the Boussinesq equations using the finite-difference scheme. The wave reflection, transmission, and dissipation (RTD) coefficients are used to investigate the U-shape breakwater's performance for different crest width, Lc1, and indent breakwater height, du. The results show that the submerged breakwater performance for a set of U-shape breakwater with the same cross-section area is related to the length of submerged breakwater crest, Lc1, and the distance between the crests, Lc2 (or the height of du). The breakwater has the maximum performance when the crest length is larger, and at the same time, the distance between them increases. Changing the Lc1 and du of the U-shape breakwaters result in a significant change in the RTD coefficients. Comparison of the U-shape breakwater, having the best performance, with the averaged RTD values shows that the transmission coefficients, Kt, has a better performance of up to 4% in comparison to other breakwaters. Also, the reflection coefficients KR and the diffusion coefficients, Kd shows a better performance of about 30% and 55% on average, respectively. However, the model governing equations are non-dissipative. The non-energy conserving of the transmission and reflection coefficients due to wave and breakwater interaction results in dissipation type contribution. The U-shape breakwater with the best performance is compared with the rectangular breakwater with the same cross-section area to investigate the economic advantages of the U-shape breakwater. The transmission coefficients, Kt, of the U-shape breakwater shows a better performance of 5% higher than the rectangular one. The reflection coefficient, KR, is 60% lower for U-shape in comparison to rectangular one; however, the diffusion coefficients, Kd, of U-shape breakwater is 35% higher than the rectangular breakwater. Therefore, we could say that the U-shape breakwater has a better performance than the rectangular one.

Controller area network (CAN) was designed for multiplexing communication between electronic control units (ECUs) in vehicles and thus for decreasing the overall wire harness. The increasing number of ECUs causes the CAN bus overloaded and consequently the error probability of data transmission increases. Since the time duration for the data transmission is proportional to CAN frame length, it is desirable to reduce the frame length. In this paper, a CAN message compression method is proposed using Data Length Code (DLC) and compression area selection algorithm to reduce the CAN frame length and the error probability during the transmission of CAN messages. By the proposed method, it is not needed to predict the maximum value of the difference in successive CAN messages as opposed to other compression methods. Also, by the use of DLC, we can determine whether the received CAN message has been compressed or not without using two ID's as in conventional methods. By simulations using actual CAN data, it is shown that the CAN transmission data is reduced up to 52 % by the proposed method, compared with conventional methods. By using an embedded test board, it is shown that 64bit EMS CAN data compression can be performed within 0.16ms and consequently the proposed algorithm can be used in automobile applications without any problem.
