  • In this paper, we have proposed an efficient test generation method for asynchronous circuits. The test generation is based on specification level, especially on Signal Transition Graph(STG)〔1〕 which is a kind of specification method for asynchronous circuits. To conduct a high-level test generation, we have defined a high-level fault model, called single State Transition Fault(STF) model on STG and proposed a test generation algorithm for STF model. The effectiveness of the proposed fault model and its test generation algorithm is shown by experimental results on a set of benchmarks given in the form of STG. Experimental results show that the generated test for the proposed fault model achieves high fault coverage over single input stuck-at fault model with low cost. We have also proposed extended STF model with additional gate-level information to achieve higher fault coverage in cost of longer execution time.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find and compare efficient and "statistically accurate" algorithms for linear systems with bandlimited random inputs. Using the previously investigated truncated expansions[2], a new state-transition algorithm is derived. With statistical error criteria (mean-square error), comparative study on the Performances has been done for the first and second-order linear system models. The results show that a new bandlimited state-transition algorithm works better than any commonly used algorithms (e. g., first-order state-transition method or Z-transform method).

  • To synthesize transition-sensitive asynchronous sequential circuits, D-type transition-sensitive flip-flop is used.4 new concept, a pair of input state is introduced and used to reduce the number of internal states. We proposed an algorithm to synthesize multiple-input change asynchronous sequential circuits directly from a primitive state table an6 demonstrated the method is better than the one which is due to Bredeson and Hulina and Others.

  • A moving object detection algorithm for surveillance video is here proposed which employs background initialization based on two-stage median filtering and a background updating method based on state transition diagram. In the background initialization, the spatiotemporal similarity is measured in the subinterval. From the accumulated difference between the base frame and the other frames in a subinterval, the regions affected by moving objects are located. The median is applied over the subsequence in the subinterval in which regions share similarity. The outputs from each subinterval are filtered by a two-stage median filter. The background of every frame is updated by the suggested state transition diagram The object is detected by the difference between the current frame and the updated background. The proposed method showed good results even for busy, crowded sequences which included moving objects from the first frame.

  • For the calculation of internal stability, the hypothesis in conventional design is on the basis of two distinct zones, which are 'active zone' and 'passive zone'. This means that there is an abrupt discontinuous transition from active to passive states across a potential failure line. The existence of a discontinuity of this nature appears physically unreasonable, especially from kinematic considerations. A series of pull-out model tests was undertaken from a wall being rotated about the toe to find the strain distribution mobilized from near the wall face into the deep, stable zone through the centre plane. With this finding of transition zone, the objective of study is aiming at identifying the likely effect of this zone in designing method by comparing with the prevailing design method.

  • A polymer stabilization method is employed to reduce the transition time from field-induced homeotropic(H) state to reflecting planar(P) state in the cholesteric liquid crystal(ChLC) display. To stabilize ChLC by polymer, we mixed ChLC with diacrylate of 2 $wt%{\sim}6$ wt%. Two samples were made with different method of stabilization. For one sample the diacrylate of 2 wt% was polymerized with the ChLC in P state, while for the other sample diacrylate of 16 wt% was polymerized with ChLC in H state. In the former case, the transition time was 1000 times faster then those in the pure sample. In the latter sample, the transition time was 1700 times faster than those in pure ChLC sample.

  • This paper explores the free vibrations of double hinged curved beams with transition segment. In this study, the clothoid curve is chosen as the transition segment of beams. The differential equations governing free vibration of such beams are derived in which the effects of rotatory inertia and shear deformation are included. The Runge-Kutta method and Determinant Search method are used to perform the integration of differential equations and to compute natural frequencies, respectively. In numerical examples, the double hinged end constraint is considered. The lowest four natural frequencies are presented as functions of three non-dimensional system parameters: the slenderness ratio, shear parameter and stiffness parameter.

  • The statistical analysis method was applied to the evaluation of fracture toughness in the ductile-brittle transition temperature region. Because cleavage fracture in steel is of a statistical nature, fracture toughness data or values show a similar statistical trend. Using the three-parameter Weibull distribution, a fracture toughness vs. temperature curve (K-curve) was directly generated from a set of fracture toughness data at a selected temperature. Charpy V-notch impact energy was also used to obtain the K-curve by a $K_{IC}$ -CVN (Charpy V-notch energy) correlation. Furthermore, this method was applied to evaluate the neutron irradiation embrittlement of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steel. Most of the fracture toughness data were within the 95% confidence limits. The prediction of a transition temperature shift by statistical analysis was compared with that from the experimental data.

  • AZO (Aluminum doped Zinc Oxide) transparent conducting thin films were fabricated by reactive DC mangnetron sputtering method using zinc target containing 2 wt% of Al. Transition range with optimum transmittance and conductivity was obtained by contrlling partial pressure of reactive oxygen gas. Sputtering condition for this transition range could be kept stable by regulating the target voltage. According to XRD analysis, there was only one peak for (002) plane in AZO films and the films deposited in transition range.
