젤라틴 기공유도물질과 유리모세관 장치를 이용한 다공성 PLGA 미세섬유의 제조 (Preparation of Porous PLGA Microfibers Using Gelatin Porogen Based on a Glass Capillary Device)

  • We present a method of fabricating poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) porous microfibers using a pore template. PLGA microfibers were synthesized using a glass capillary tube in a poly-(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microfluidic chip. Gelatin solution was used as a porous template to prepare pores in microfibers. Two phases of PLGA solutions in different solvents-DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and DCM (dichloromethane)-were used to control the porosity and strength of the porous microfibers. The porosity of the PLGA microfibers differed depending on the ratio of flow rates in the two phases. The porous structure was formed in a spiral shape on the microfiber. The porous structure of the microfiber is expected to improve transfer of oxygen and nutrients, which is important for cell viability in tissue engineering.

  • As the data storage device market demands higher data transfer rate with higher track density, TMR budget is to be tighter so that even minor improvement is sought in HDD development fields. Disk flutter associated with the turbulent air flow inside the chamber becomes of great interest for the reduction of PES especially at OD. A comparative transient turbulent flow study is presented in this paper for the reduction of disk flutter with different housing designs.

  • IoT devices are interconnected in global network with different functionalities and manage the data transfer in cloud computing. IoT devices can be used anytime, anywhere with any device with different applications and protocols. Same devices but different applications according to end user requirements such as sensors and Wi-Fi devices, reusability of these applications can enhance the development process. However, large number of variations in cloud computing make it difficult the features selection in application because of compatibility issues of devices. In this paper we have proposed multi-Software Product Lines (multi-SPLs) approach to manage the variabilities and commonalities of IoT applications and protocols. Feature modeling is used to manage the commonalities and variabilities of SPL. We proposed that multi-SPLs feature model is more appropriate for modeling of IoT applications and protocols.

  • The contact and messenger wire is important parts in the electric power system of the railroad. There are so many measurement method like voltage, current, scratch of surface, and glow longer of length. In this paper suggest real time monitering system of messenger wire so called RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) and this system includes CDMA module to transfer real time or saved data of memory to the end user directly who is in the long distance. The hyper terminal program of windows shows the downloaded data from RTU through CDMA communication and this data can be transferred to excel sheet easily.

  • Degradation of performance and life time of a functional material or device thereof is induced, to a great extent, by mass transfer in the material that is driven by various thermodynamic forces imposed intentionally or accidentally during its operation or service. The forces are any gradient of intensive thermodynamic variables, component chemical potentials, electrical potential, temperature, stresses, and the like. This paper reviews electric-field induced degradation phenomena in ionic solid compounds including insulation resistance degradation, crystal shift, microstructural alterations, compositional unmixing, and compound decomposition. Their inner workings are also discussed qualitatively.

  • Analog systems could not fully deal with instrumentation and control facilities in power plants since these facilities have become more and more complex on account of various needs for large power generation capacity highly cost effective operation to conserve energy and operation management to prevent pollution. Digitalizations of control device and augmentations of control informations increased the necessity of fiber optic data networks which have excellent noise immunity and high quality wide-band with information transfer capability. The goal of this study is to offer a fiber optic data-way system which has high reliabilities, high data transmission rates and small cable ducts with large transmission capacities for the instrumentation and control of power plants.

Measurement of thermal contact resistance at Cu-Cu interface

  • The thermal contact resistance (TCR) is one of the important components in the cryogenic systems. Especially, cryogenic measurement devices using a cryocooler can be affected by TCR because the systems have to consist of several metal components in contact with each other for heat transferring to the specimen without cryogen. Therefore, accurate measurement and understanding of TCR is necessary for the design of cryogenic measurement device using a cryocooler. The TCR occurs at the interface between metals and it can be affected by variable factors, such as roughness of metal surface, contact area and contact pressure. In this study, we designed TCR measurement system at various temperatures using a cryocooler as a heat sink and used steady state method to measure the TCR between metals. The copper is selected as a specimen in the experiment because it is widely used as a heat transfer medium in the cryogenic measurement devices. The TCR between Cu and Cu is measured for various temperatures and contact pressures. The effect of the interfacial materials on the TCR is also investigated.

FACTS를 이용한 유효송전용량 증가를 통한 과도안정도 분석 (Transient Stability Analysis on Increasing Available Transfer Capacity Using FACTS Device)

  • 전력계통이 대형화, 복잡화됨에 따라 현재의 전력전송은 한계 전송량에 가깝게 운영되고 있다. 또한 정치적, 경제적, 사회적 수용성 등의 이유로 전력을 융통하기 위한 신규 초고압 송전선로의 건설도 어려운 실정이다. 이 때 루트 송전선로의 탈락은 계통의 과도안정도에 큰 영향을 끼칠 수 있으며, 발전기 탈락을 통하여 계통을 안정화 시킬 수 있다. 하지만 과도한 발전기 탈락은 계통의 신뢰성 있는 운영에 방해물이 될 수 있다. 유연송전기기(FACTS, Flexible AC Transmission Systems)는 이러한 루트 선로 탈락에 따른 발전기 탈락을 최소화 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 FACTS의 한 종류인 STATCOM(Static Synchronous Compensator)을 이용하여 사고 시, FACTS 기기 설치 유무에 따른 과도안정도 분석을 진행한다.

  • This work discusses the numerical analysis, the design and experimental test of the SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) actuator along with its capabilities and limitations. Convection heating and cooling using water actuate the SMA element of the actuator. The fuel such as propane, having a high energy density, is used as the energy source for the SMA actuator in order to increase power and energy density of the system, and thus in order to obviate the need for electrical power supplies such as batteries. The system is composed of a pump, valves, bellows, a heater (burner), control unit and a displacement amplification device. The actuation frequency is compared with the prediction obtained from numerical analysis. For the designed SMA actuator system, the results of numerical analysis were utilized in determining design parameters and operating conditions.

CNC 와이어 벤딩기 구동장치 개발 (Gear Train Development for CNC Wire Bending Machine)

  • CNC wire bending machines are used in industries to make a type variety of wire products such as long links. The machines have a long arm device to rotate in order to remove forming errors by flexibility of wire. Generally, the machines which constructed servo motors in the arm have the rotating range of the arm under 360 degree because the servo motors connect with fixed control devices on frame by many cables. The rotating angle under 360 degree limits working speed and forming geometry. Therefore this study developed a gear train to drive a parts in arm and to be independent on arm rotation movement. The developed gear train can transfer four movements to four components in arm and is consists parallel of four pairs of satellite gear trains. This study constructed the CNC wire bending machine with the developed gear train and verified that the gear train could drive internal components independently on arm rotation.
